Chapter 22

The music echoed in my ears creating an endless agitating noise to me. All I wanted to do was walk up to the person playing the organ and bash their face in. Of course it isn't their fault that they have to play this wretched melody, they were just hired since they know how to play it, but still I can't help but to horribly cringe.

My face said it all. All of my disgusted feelings towards this ceremony while most if not everyone around me had a complete opposite aura. Everyone erupted in cheers and cries and I wanted to vomit on all of them. I turned my attention to Bruce and Lia for a split second and see matching faces. At least I'm not the only one against all of this.

I roll my eyes back towards the one everyone's attention was on. I was shocked at how different she looked. She looked innocent and pure in her elegant white sweetheart dress than flowed down graciously with a long trail. It must be the white that makes her look angelic or even her black magic shit.

I snarl at the thought of this whole wedding actual happening.

I take a quick glance at the one my heart throbs for. His face in his usual hard glare, never letting any emotions leak through. His sharp jaw clenched tightly and his hands fixed into his pant pockets. His eyes were stone cold but they still looked beautiful and mesmerizing with their dark shade of blue. My eyes wandered to the rest of him taking in his attire. A tux, my favorite thing that he could wear. It captivated his physique perfectly, not too loose nor too tight.

I still don't understand why he's going through with this or why he wouldn't listen to me. But I still need to save him from this.

I need to stop it. But how? How am I suppose to stop a royal wedding with thousands of people around me and a couple dozen guards standing every couple of feet? I look around me decorations hanging off of temporary poles meant for the wedding and flowers litter along the rows of benches with standing guests. Then it hits me.

I'm probably going to be killed for doing what I'm about to do.

I take a deep breath and rub my sudden sweaty hands on my dress. I look around me everyone too attached to the upcoming bride to notice anyone else around them. Perfect. I excuse myself but Lia grabs a hold of my arm.

"Where are you going?" She asks me a hint of worry in her voice.

"Bathroom. I need a bit of fresh air. I'll be right back" I assure her. Not seeming buy into my lie she brushes it off.

"Be careful" she warns me and let's me continue on with my plan.

I walk through the crowd of standing vampires and make my ways towards the back. I bump into a couple vampires but they don't pay too much attention as the bride to be is half way to the altar. I make my way out of the crowd and walk along them and slip between a couple guards too enthralled in the Queen to be. I walk behind the section of poles and look up to see them littered with decorations of all sorts just hanging off of each of them. I puff out a deep breath and take a ready stance.

Well here goes nothing.

This better work.

I run towards the pole that's connected to the other poles by decorations and banners and push it with all my strength. Shortly enough the pole starts to tip forward and I give it one last push as it lifts from under the ground and slowly falls into the opening where Vivian continues her rather very slow walk down the aisle. Screams and gasps erupt as everyone runs from the falling pole. As the pole comes closer to the ground the rest of the poles fall down with it.

Thankfully everyone made it out in time before being crushed by the columns. Everyone scattered and circled around the now destroyed wedding. I small smirk makes it's way to my lips.

"Who is responsible for this?!" His voice beams through the air making everyone stiffen from his hard authority. From a far you could hear Vivian's cries. Good.

Loud steps erupted through the crowd as Ronan appeared through the mass of people anger rolled off him in waves. Looking through every face until his eyes landed on mine his anger eased but came back as thunder and lightning. His eyes held darkness and emptiness as he clenched his jaw more.

"Guards! Take her to the dungeons!" He harshly demands as he points at me. By this time my smirk was wiped clean from my lips as my face falls in utter shock. Guards rushed to my sides as the forcefully grabbed my arms and dragged me away. I look at him but his face was in a hard emotionless demeanor yet his eyes held an emotion that was the opposite of his aura.

"RONAN! YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" I scream and plead but he just turns away from me never looking back as he makes his way to a curled up Vivian. It was as if he couldn't even hear me. I pulled against the guards and thrashed around in their hold but they didn't budge since they only tighten their grip on my biceps and roughly pull me into the house and down the crumbled and worn down stairs. I look around and recognize this place. It was when I mistakingly took a wrong route and found Ronan down here torturing a girl. My eyes widen in fear as I kick and scream at the guards.

"LET GO OF ME! LET ME GO!" I shakily plead as tears stream down my face. They completely ignore cries and continue down the corridor. The further down we traveled the darker and drearier the dungeon looked. I had to hold down a gag as the smell of rotting corpses make it's way to my nasal cavities.

The guards come to a stop and the end of the dark hall and the sound of scrapping metal is heard as they open one of the doors. Suddenly I'm thrown brutally to the ground. Just as I'm about to scramble to my feet I'm forcefully pushed back down landing hard on my butt and hitting my head against the stone wall. I hiss in fast growing pain throbbing in my head and raise my hand to rub the damaged spot but only have my wrist grabbed and pinned against the wall. A clicking sound echoes in the room as the feel of cold metal occupies my wrist and soon follows onto my other wrist. I pull my arm forward only to have it pulled back from the chains that connect me to the wall. I viciously shake and pull at the chains and cuffs but it only causes pain to my wrists.

Scrapping metal interrupts me as the sound of a lock clicking and footsteps walking away leaves me in a panic.

This can't be happening.

How could he do this?

How could Ronan have me sent to the dungeons and chained up like some wild animal?

Tears slowly roll down my cheeks. I'm stuck in here. I might have broke the wedding but who's to say they won't continue it when they've cleaned up the mess. I've failed. I didn't save him. I can't save him now. There's no way I could ever break out of these shackles and there's no way of me to be able to see my human eyesight to poor for the no lighting. I'm hopelessly screwed.

Somehow out of exhaustion I find my eyes droop and let the darkness consume me.

The sound of voices awakes me from my restless slumber. I crane my stiff neck to the side making a cracking noise as I undo the nots that formed there. My body felt sore and still exhausted and drained of energy. I felt weak, weaker than usual. Probably due to the lack of nutrients in the past couple days.

A small light shines through the bars of the door and a dark figure appears behind it. My visions was too blurry and the light severely burned my eyes and made my head ache. I most likely got a concussion when I hit my head on the stone wall.

The light was pulled away and shone away from my eyes. I sighed in relief as the throbbing in my head eased. Too bad my thoughts were too soon when I saw him.

"What do you want?" I question harshly still hurt that it's because of him I'm like this. What happened to him?

Ronan's eyes bored into mine as regret filled his stone blue eyes but soon flashed over and it was replaced with nothing.

"I have arrangements for you" he tells me his face and voice never faulting. I raise an eyebrow at him while deepening my stare. For a second a look of sadness spread across his face but soon disappeared into a blank stare.

"What kind of arrangements?" I question him. He sighs as if he's going to regret the words about to leave his lips but he keeps the same serious tone as he continues.

"You will be leaving the palace tomorrow morning."

You've got to be fucking kidding me.
