Chapter 41: Warrior
They all watched as Alicia fought and won against her opponent who is bigger than her in body size without even changing into her wolf.

Althea was in awe, Alicia sure had a great sword skill. Another person came in which was a female and Alicia fought her without changing to her wolf.

They all clapped and the crowd shouted happily, chanting her name.

“Alicia of the house of the lion!!” They screamed happily.

Alicia looked around smiling. She saw Althea clapping for her and then looked toward Damian who had an indifferent look on his face.

She felt sad but happy she won as usual and was glad Althea was here to see her win and know that she can't match her in sword skills.

Alicia felt good about herself, all she has to do now is win the last round and take her prize that elevates her warrior status.

The third person came in and it was a male this time.

Althea wondered if Alicia will be able to beat the male warrior that looks very strong. 

The fight began and they fought till the first round ended with no one winning. This time around Alicia sustained some injuries since her opponent seemed to be strong but she did not allow him to win.

Since they passed the first round they will have to change to their wolf form for the second round.

Althea usually closes her eyes when they change but she opened her eyes and watched as Alicia changed to her beast.

Althea was in awe at how beautiful her wolf is, she had a light gray wolf with shades of cream and white. Her eyes were pale yellow, sharp and focused, her legs were long with a narrow face and pointed ears. 

Her wolf was beautiful.

The second round began. Alicia, her wolf called Amber, fought with her opponent's wolf. Although it was difficult, she won and the thousands of people in the crowd shouted happily.

She is a very skillful female warrior and from the chant of her name Althea could tell that she was highly respected and had a lot of supporters. This might be why Damian wants them to be friends, he must have felt she could learn a lot from her.

Alicia felt so happy and fulfilled today, she won as actually.

“I will leave now” Althea informed him.

Daamin nodded but he did not let her go until he gave her a good warning not to do something stupid “You can return back to the estate but make sure not to do anything stupid, I have eyes and ears everywhere” he whispered in her ear before letting go of her hand.

Alicia swallowed in fear before standing up and walking out of there.

Damian’s eyes stayed on her till she was out of sight. He could not understand why he had a bad feeling, like something was about to happen.

“Arthur” he called.

“Yes Baron”

“I want you to closely follow her carriage from behind. Make sure she arrives back in the estate safely and stays there"

“I will do as you have said” Arthur bowed his head and immediately left.

“Do you need to do that?” Enzo asked since he just saw the number of guards guiding her already, why does he need to ask Arthur to still follow them.

“I have a bad feeling”

Enzo sighed “If you say so”

“You think I'm over doing it?” Damian asked.

“Yes but I understand, she has tried to escape before, you are making sure she doesn't do it again” Enzo said.

“Yes I just want to make sure,” Damian said.

That evening when he returned back to the estate, he walked into the room, and saw Althea sleeping peacefully.

Arthur had earlier on reported to him that Althea was back home safely and he is back now and can see she is here sleeping soundly but still he could not help but worry.

He concluded that it might be that she had left the estate for the first time after she tried to escape before. It might just be that he is worried she might do it again.

He stared at her figure on the bed with so much affection.

He went to her and gave her two kisses on her forehead “Good night” he murmured.

Althea was so tired that she did not even know if he was there or not.

The next day, they both were having breakfast together in silence as usual when Althea suddenly spoke.

“Can I go visit Alicia?”

Damian stopped eating and looked at her “Why” he asked in a very harsh tone.

Althea flinched, he asked like she had said something forbidden.

“After her victory in the games yesterday, its right that I visit her and offer gift to Congratulate her and also its a way to get to know her more” 

There was sudden silence, she could feel his heated gaze.

“NO” his tone was high and clear and signaling that there is no room for argument.

“Okay, I will just invite her over then” Althea said as she went back to eating.

Damian suddenly lost his appetite, he stared at her as she ate.

Althea was tired of his intense gaze “I had no ulterior motive of asking, if you want me to continue eating this food then please stop staring at me like that” she said firmly.

“Fine then, I will take your word for it” Damian stood up and walked out of there.

When he left, Althea dropped her cutlery and tears slowly dropped down her eyes. She clenched her clothes tightly. Yes she had an ulterior motive

After having breakfast, she went to train with Anton. But today she was not able to concentrate, her mind was messed up.

“What is wrong with you, I thought after the arena games you will be more motivated to train and master your skills?” Anton said.

“I'm sorry Anton, my mind is just occupied. I thought I would be able to concentrate but I just can't” she said to him.

Anton nodded “Then I will let you rest today but please you have to be back on track by tomorrow”

“I will, I apologies” she bowed her head in apology.

Anton nodded "You can go”

Althea bowed her head again and walked out of there.

Nina, seeing what happened, rushed to her.

“Baroness are you okay” 

“I'm fine, have you sent a message to Lady Alicia that I want to see her?”

“Yes I have”

Althea sighed in relief.

Butler Young who saw that her training ended so quickly. Rushed to inform the Baron.

“What is it Young?” Damain asked 

“The Baroness ended her training quickly, according to Anton, he said she was not able to concentrate like her mind is troubled”

Damain moved his eyes from the paper he was looking at and looked at Young.

“It's what you are saying true?”

“Yes Baron”

Damian felt something was wrong too, first it was her wanting to visit Alicia and now she could not concentrate? 

Something is definitely wrong and he will find out.
