Chapter 30 Eric

As I punch the sandbag, my mind is elsewhere. The truth is, I discovered that Ariele is a real member of the mafia family a few days ago, and I'm planning many things concerning Ariele. No one knows she's the granddaughter of the top capo of all, except for me and my advisor, Josef. This information is valuable and can be used to our advantage.

I've already decided that I want to marry Ariele; it will make me the successor to her grandfather, the capo dei capi Italo Leskin. With no heirs left, her grandchildren and children were killed in an ambush, but apparently, the late capo left a seed, Italo's eldest son. Everything indicated that the family governess was Ariele's mother.

I was extremely happy when Josef informed me about Ariele's true identity and her inheritance. Everything was starting to fit perfectly into my plan to become the capo di capi of the mafia. Destiny seemed to be on my side.

Josef, my loyal advisor, has always been good at obtaining confidential information. I knew I could trust him to help me achieve my goals. Now that I knew Ariele was the sole heir to the capo di capi grandfather, my ambition to marry her only grew stronger.

I imagined that the governess would be the key to discovering more information about Ariele's family, but I never imagined she would be Ariele's mother and had an affair with the heir. This gave me even more control over the situation.

Now, with all this information, I was confident that Ariele would marry me, and eventually, I would have the power I've always wanted. I continued to punch the sandbag with force, feeling the satisfaction of knowing I was one step ahead of everyone.

I was exhausted after the morning exercises, and my body needed a refreshing shower to regain its energy. As the hot water fell on me, my thoughts wandered to Ariele, my future wife. I was eager to have her in my bed, but I knew I needed to stick to the plan. I desired her before, and now even more so. Fortunately, I didn't take her to bed earlier; it would have tarnished her honor and put me in a bad position with her grandfather.

Nearly four months without sex, and the accumulated desire was starting to affect me. But I couldn't let it interfere with my goal. Ariele was the key to the success of my plan. Knowing her strong-willed nature, I knew she wouldn't forgive betrayals. I needed to be careful.

But once we were married, I would have Ariele in my hands forever. I could shape her the way I wanted, and I would have the mafia empire under my control. The perfect combination for success.

While the water was still pouring over me, I smiled maliciously, thinking about the plans I had laid out for the future. Ariele would be mine, and the mafia would be mine. Nothing could stop me.

I entered the headquarters of my family, the mafia, and headed up the stairs to my office. The walls were dark wood, the lighting was soft, and there were several framed paintings on the walls. There was a large and imposing oak desk in the center of the room, surrounded by black leather chairs.

My desk was organized with papers, folders, and pens meticulously arranged, while my computer and electronic agenda occupied the right corner. On the other side of the room, there was a bookshelf with various leather-bound tomes and a large globe.

As I walked through the room, I could feel the heavy and ominous atmosphere that pervaded the space, but it didn't bother me. I liked it; it was my comfort zone. It's where I felt in control.

I sat in my chair, which was upholstered in black leather and well-cushioned. I picked up my pen and began to work. This is where I orchestrated my empire, made important decisions, and planned the future of my family.

While I'm here, I'm in control, and that's all that matters. Soon, my empire will grow, blessed be the day I became fascinated by Ariele, my sweet angel, my sweet nun.

Josef entered the room, closing the door behind him. He had a serious expression on his face, and I knew that meant something important was happening. I greeted him with a nod and waited for him to approach my desk.

"Eric, I've arranged a meeting with Ariele's grandfather," he said directly.

I arched an eyebrow, surprised.

"I knew you could do it, I just didn't expect it to be so fast."

"I have my contacts," he said, shrugging. "But that doesn't matter. What's important is that you need to be careful, Eric. This man is the capo di tutti capi of the mafia. He's the leader of all leaders, the king of kings. He can be a very dangerous man."

I nodded, fully understanding what he meant.

"I understand. But I need to talk to him. I need to show him that I'm the right man for Ariele and that I can protect her. In addition to finding her, of course. What he needs to do is thank me." I completed the sentence, proud of my achievement in finding the Don's lost granddaughter.

Josef sighed, looking tired. He knew that nothing would deter me from my goal. I had always dreamed of becoming the Don of the mafia, ever since my younger days. Being the leader, the most powerful man in the family's criminal empire – that was my ultimate goal. However, my path to that position was complex because the current Don didn't have a direct successor.

Leadership would be passed on by merit through a vote among the capos. This meant I had to tirelessly fight my way up the hierarchy and earn the respect of my fellow capos. I was cunning, ruthless, and highly intelligent – qualities that made me a respected figure in the criminal underworld and the most suitable candidate for the chair, even though some disagreed; everyone wanted a place of honor, but that was already mine.

However, despite all my ambitions and skills, I always felt like something was missing. There was a fundamental piece absent on my path to the mafia throne. Fate, however, had other plans for me – plans I could never foresee.

That's when I discovered the truth about Ariele, the current Don's granddaughter. She was the legitimate heir of the family, the missing link to solidify my path to the top. The Don's chair would be passed to me, thanks to her legitimacy in the family. Ariele became the key to fulfilling my dream of becoming the Don of the mafia.
