Chelsea and Adrian returned to London yesterday. They stayed with us for a few days, but they had to get back. My parents were thrilled to hear about me finding Maya. They have told me not to worry about anything and to focus on my fiancée; they will take care of everything else.
Maya had work today; she has a double shift, but I have been looking at rentals from us. I hadn’t found the perfect one until now. It is a cute little cottage with an incredible view of the ocean. It is within walking distance from the B&B and her favourite café. It is exactly what we have been looking for.
“What are your thoughts?” the estate agent asks.
“It is perfect. Can we get everything started as soon as possible? And make the rental three months for now. I may need to extend it, but it depends on our situation.” I reply.
She nods, “Of course. I will head to the office today and get everything sorted. I have everything I need from you. I can give you the keys if you come by first thing tomorrow morning.” She smiles.
“Great. Thank you so much. My fiancée will love this place.”
She let me take another look around and snap some photos before we leave. I want to show Maya them. I thanked her, and we went our separate ways. I have become fond of this little place. It is not only stunning, but I like the quiet and the sense of community it has. Everyone is so lovely, even with me being a stranger. I will be happy here with Maya for the next few months. It is like a little paradise compared to New York.
I walk the short distance to the B&B, hoping Maya is due a break. I have missed her today. I think it is because I only got her back, and I hate being apart from her. I have nothing to worry about because she isn’t going anywhere. If she isn’t on a break, I will return to my hotel room and do some work.
I arrive and head inside. Catherine is at the front desk.
“Hello, Conrad.” She greets me with a smile.
“Hello, Catherine. Is Maya due her break?” I ask, hopeful.
“Yes, she can take her break; we are calm for the moment. She is in the dining room setting up for dinner later. On you head through and say to her, I told you to tell her to take a break.” She answers.
“Thank you.” I smile.
I stroll through to the dining room. Maya is too busy working to notice me come in. I chuckle and sneak up behind her, slipping my arms around her from behind. She jumps but is quick to relax.
I kiss her neck softly, “You have to take your break now.”
She moans softly, “Behave. I am at work.” She warns and swats my leg.
I laugh and turn her around to face me. I reach in and kiss her softly. Her arms come around my neck, and she kisses back. She parts from the kiss and smiles.
“I didn’t expect to see you until later. How did the viewings go?” she asks.
“How about we grab some food and coffee? I will tell you all about it and show you photos of the place I chose. You will love it.” I beam.
“Yay! You found somewhere. Do you want to eat here or head out?”
“Maybe we could get some takeaway from the café and have lunch outside?” I suggest.
She nods, “I can do that. I have an hour’s break.”
Maya finishes up what she is doing. We say our goodbyes to Catherine and head over to the café for lunch. I plan on taking her to the cottage to have lunch outside of it. It is the perfect spot to do so. I should have asked to keep the keys a little longer so I could show Maya inside of it. I will get the place ready tomorrow for us. Maya has work again, but only until one.

Maya and I had found a spot outside of the cottage. She still had no idea why I brought her here.
“It is a beautiful view from here. The cottage is cute. It is a shame it isn’t up for rental,” she pouts.
I smirk, “About that. Welcome to our new home for the next few months. I’ll pick the keys up tomorrow morning.” I gush.
She lets out a slight squeal, “Oh my God, for real? You aren’t messing with me?”
I shake my head, “I am not messing with you. It is ours.”
She smiles brightly, “I love it! I love you.” She coos and pounces on me, pushing my back to the grass and kisses all over my face.
I chuckle, “I love you too, my beautiful angel.”
She stops the slobbery kisses all over my face and sits up on my stomach, smiling down at me.
“It is perfect. I love it. I can’t wait to see inside of it.”
I placed my hands on her hips. “I have photos if you would like to see them.”
She nods eagerly and climbs off me. I took my cell phone out of my pocket, found the photos, and handed it to her. She takes it from me and starts swiping through them. I watch the smile grow wider on her lips with everyone she sees. Her entire face lights up. She is in love with the place as much as I am. I am glad. I knew she would anyway.
I let her continue looking at them and took our lunch out of the containers.
“I love it! It is perfect for us! I can’t wait to move in.” she says, clapping her hands excitedly.
“I thought you would love it. I will get everything in tomorrow while you are at work. The place comes fully furnished since it is only available for short-term rent. So, we don’t need to worry about any of that. We only need to move our things and take a trip to the mainland to pick up a few things.”
“I can’t wait. We don’t have much between us; we should settle in quickly.”
I nod, “Yes, now we should eat. You need to eat before you go back to work.”
I reached over and kissed her softly before we tucked into our lunch. When she goes back to work, I will do some work, too. She won’t be done until after eight tonight, which gives me plenty of time to do what I need before I go to pick her up from work and walk her back to the hotel. She has two days off after her shift tomorrow, which means we can go pick up everything we need.
“I couldn’t think of a better place to call our temporary home.” She smiles.
“Me neither, my love.” I agree.
I think I could live in a place like this permanently if it weren’t for business and my family. If Maya decides she wants it, I will find a way to make it work. It isn’t something I need to think about right now. We have time to work everything out.
