Chapter 192 - A MIRACLE SILVER WOLF
191. Aurora's POV
Everything went according to how I had envisioned it; or maybe even better.
The chefs achieved the impossible and everyone was well fed and after eating, they were helped to clear the tables and it was time for the games.
This was like a tradition of our pack where a newly married couple would be given challenges to conquer and if they failed, their partner would be punished.
For example, if it was me answering and I failed to answer or got the wrong answer, Kira would be punished.
So, the men and the women were divided into two groups.
"If you fail to answer our questions, you will not see your woman for a whole week," the leader of the women said.
"What about the honeymoon?" Kira lamented.
"You think we care? Just make sure you answer the questions well.
We will start with riddles.
Reaaaaady?" she screamed as she asked the men.
They were allowed to help Kira answer the riddles though there were others he was to answer all alone.
"Okay. Bring it on," Kira said.
"Okay. The first riddle, what comes once in a year, never in a month, twice in a week and once on every Tuesday?" The leader of the woman asked seriously and I knew we were fucked.
These games weren't to be trifled with because they said that they would hide me for a week, they would and there was nothing Kira or anyone would do because it was the wager.
That was unless the women's demands were met and many are the times these demands were senseless.
The men looked at each other and started murmuring.
No one seemed to know and I was getting worried.
"Do you not know?
Time is running out.
Ten seconds.... nine, eight..." The women started counting down and the men seemed dejected.
I looked at Tamia and she could see the distress on my face.
Kira and I have just been married and the thought of staying away from him for a week was something I did not want to do.
"I know the answer," Killian shouted when the countdown was at two.
"Okay, what is it?" The woman asked.
"Letter 'e'," Killian answered.
All the women seemed disappointed.
They seemed to have wanted the men to fail but too bad.
"Okay, the second one. Ready?" Another woman asked.
They seemed to have planned everything, even what to ask.
"Ready," the man said.
"Okay. What is the longest sentence on earth in all languages?" She asked and she looked quite proud of herself.
I didn't know that one.
What was the longest sentence in the world?
How was one supposed to know?
I knew how to speak two languages only: English and wolf.
So, how could anyone know that?
I looked at Kira with tears in my eyes and then I saw Killian, again, raise him and stand up proudly.
I then looked at Tamia and she smiled.
"How are we supposed to know that?
Many of us can only speak two languages and you know it.
So, how are we supposed to know the longest sentence in the world?" Killian asked and the woman laughed.
"Just sit down if you don't know alpha.
We are keeping your sister for a week," the one who had asked the riddle asked.
Killian sat down and then I saw Kira smile.
"A life sentence in jail," Kira said without preamble.
"Fuck! How come he knows that one?" The woman said in disappointment as she sat down.
"Wow! Nice!" I smiled and said and gave Kira thumbs up.
"Hey you! Whose side are you on?
Why must you cheer him up?" The leader of the women asked me and I looked at her.
"I am on my husband's side.
You think I want to spend a whole week with you?" I asked her and she went to catch me and I ran towards Kira.
"Traitor! We are going to give them very hard riddles and make sure you stay with us," the woman said and I laughed as I hid behind Kira.
The games continued with laughter here and they like where Kira was tied to a tree and I was set on fire and he was supposed to save me.
What he didn't know was that it wasn't real fire.
It was special papers that were flattered by a blow drier one of the women had brought and then they had lit a special type of torch that they illuminated on me and it seemed like the white papers they had tied on me were on fire.
I felt Kira panic as she tried to untie the ropes and for effect, I cried begging him to save me.
I have never seen a man try as hard as he did.
He was able to finally cut the ropes and save me.
He sat down and sighed in relief when he realized that it was just paper.
"Oh lord. I would have killed all of them," Kira said as he caught his breath.
"It's never that serious my prince," the woman said as she died of laughter.
The next session was the men asking us riddles.
For every question we got wrong, they would burn Kira with a cigarette butt.
He screamed when they showed me how they would do it and it left a dark mark on his hand.
I could feel the pain and I didn't want him to feel that way.
We answered eight and they burned him twice.
When the game was over, I went to him worried, wanting to see his wounds and blow on them only to discover that there were no wounds.
What they were using was a special kind of cigarette that had been made specifically for this day.
It seemed as if it was burning with a fire that would actually burn the skin but the said fire was like a candle.
It was melting this material that was producing smoke making it look as if it was a real cigarette.
The melted material would be what was left on the skin.
It was like candle wax.
I was so worried for nothing.
"That's to repay you for making us worry with the fire," I say one man said and they all agreed.
My heart was in shambles as I thought of the pain and then...
Phew!
These games were designed to make sure all the members of the pack didn't leave out in any wedding.
It was for them to come up with the games that were to be played and the rules.
We played and had merry up to the wee hours of the morning and it was time for us to leave.
Tamia, Killian, Kira and I left and left those who wanted to continue to go ahead.
They were wolves who could go even for three days without sleep but we had a honeymoon to get to and the king and the queen had a family and kingdom to take care of.
I didn't even sleep.
I didn't even think that I could even if I tried.
I was too excited to sleep.
I couldn't wait to board that plane to the Bahamas.
It would be two weeks of pure breeze and I would have all the time in the world to decide on the next destination.
The two weeks in the Bahamas was the king and the queen's gift to us.
They could have paid for a longer one but they needed us back for their wedding.
But two months outside work was also good.
This was the longest vacation I have ever received since I started helping my brother run the pack.
I was happy that it was with Kira.
We left with a designated driver who would take the car back at eleven since our plane would leave at two.
"And you need to buy a plane brother.
We would have used our own personal jet," I told Killian who frowned at me.
"You are also rich enough to buy a jet.
Why don't you buy it?" He asked me in return.
"Can't you see that I am now married and have to save money?
I can't just go buying planes," I argued.
"Sure. You now know why I can't buy it too.
I am married and have three children.
So much responsibility that I barely have enough to feed my family," he said and I laughed.
I was quick mouthed but I have never beaten Kira in an argument.
That was what made him a great king.
He answers for everything and was a great strategist and a brilliant diplomat.
"I won't miss you," I told them as we boarded the car.
"Don't come back for two months.
Children, say goodbye to aunt and uncle," Tamia said and asked the children who waved happily as if they were happy to see me go.
Finally!
My honeymoon with the man I loved.
What more could I have prayed for?
