They sit patiently while Emily keeps looking around the hall nervously. She brings out her phone from her diamond encrusted purse and checks the time. They should be leaving soon.

"Come on, Tammy. You won't be a coward this time, would you?" She mutters under her breath. Lewis notices her anxiety and places his hand over hers on the table. She gives him a smile and her mind drugts away from Tammy and everything she has planned to say to her. She pays closer attention to his facial features. He is quite handsome.

"Why are you smiling at me like that?" He asks with a smirk on his face. She leans close to him and whispers.

"That is my 'you look really hot and I would like to go skinny dipping with you some time" look. What do you say?" She asks, and she draws back from him quick enough to see the shade of his cheeks slightly deepen. She nods slowly, maintaining eye contact with him and smiling to herself. She still has her flirting skills in check.

"I uhm … I will think about it, Emily." Lewis looks away, trying to break their eye contact. He feels like he is being stared at in the depths of his soul. He is beginning to feel guilt. She might be beginning to like him but he feels nothing for her and all of this is mainly for the case he is working on. His mind begins to ponder about what this might mean for him. Is this a good thing or bad thing, he wonders. It is a good thing on one hand because he will not find it too difficult to pry her open and get information. If he can keep this going for a while, the trust between them might be fully formed and she will open up like the skies on a beautiful summer day.

But, on the other hand, it is a bad thing because if she gets invested in whatever she thinks is going on between them and chooses to pursue it, he would have no choice but to play along. Or he could be the bigger man, confess that he had no romantic feelings towards her from the first day they met. Then confirm Emily and Doctor Richard as people who are actively seeking to terminate his life.

He hears her make a sharp intake of breath and he follows the line of her vision and he notices the shiny crown at the top of someone's full, luscious head of hair. He can not see this person's face because she is surrounded with cameras and friends and probably, followers. He turns back his face to his table and motions for Emily to do the same.

"Don't be fazed by her. She is just a lady in a fancy dress like the rest of you guys." Lewis tells her.

She nods and raises her champagne flute for a sip. Lewis is right. She should not use her eyes to seek out Tammy. She has every right to be sought after too. So, she settles her hands on her lap after dropping the champagne glass. Lewis stares at her for a while.

"Give me your phone." He orders Emily. This comes as a surprise to Emily so she faces him with wide eyes almost immediately the request falls out of her mouth.

"Chill out, this is a party. You are having a good time. I am having a good time. You are about to show off to your nemesis. The least you could do is at least take selfies to save these memories. Don't you think?" He explains smoothly. She nods and smiles, handing over her phone to Lewis.

Lewis swiftly places a very tiny chip behind the phone, right next to the camera. It blends well with the colour on that part of the phone and can barely be felt too.

He clicks camera and raises his hand towards a particular angle. She pouts her lips and he makes a serious face. After that, they make funny faces and take a few pictures with weird filters. They are having fun with pictures and they do not realize when Tamky walks across them.

"Uhm… Emily, right?" She asks with a sarcastic tone. She remembers her bane alright but she would rather be cut with a bloody knife on the night of a murder than act like Emily was significant enough for Tammy to remember her name.

"Yes, Emily. Who is asking?" Emily asks with mock curiosity plastered on her face. She is not going down tonight. The people around Tammy gasp collectively, it almost seems like it was rehearsed. She stares at Emily with smirk.

"So nice to see you still have some pride left after the horrible way you left the last time. Pride must be cheap these days, Target or Walmart, sis?" Tammy lashes back at her with her words. Eyes begun to turn from their tables to catch a glimpse of what could be happening at their end.

Lewis looks like a lost puppy caught in a cross fire. He did not think this was what Emily meant by redeeming herself. By trash talking? This is some dignified high school type shit, he thought. He places a hand over her thigh and leans towards hr to whisper in her ear.

"You've got this. Crash that damn ladder, if you must." He says, this makes Emily laugh. Tammy still standing over their table with her followers fawning over her takes an offence over this.

"I see you brought a plus one to help you out in your misery. Who sent this one? Daddy dearest, of course. Mr Richard is just a darling. I am sure he paid a quite generous sum for this job, am I right?" She asks, turning her gaze to Lewis who becomes nervous because he is now the center of attention. He can feel everyone's eyes scrutinizing and passing judgement on him already.

"Wait a minute, I think we have met before. You look awfully familiar." Tammy says, her brows scrunched up while she thinks about where her and Lewis might have crossed paths.
