Chapter 169 A Good Ex Should Be Like Dead
Chapter 169 A Good Ex Should Be Like Dead
After checking Francesca's phone, Alison learned that the trap at Bluesy Notes Bar was designed by Willow.
What made her furious was that Willow didn't just want to destroy her—she wanted to destroy Oliver too!
At that moment, the police revealed something else. "We found that Francesca received a transfer of three hundred thousand dollars from Willow. Can you explain what this money was for?"
"That was money I donated to the orphanage!" Willow said anxiously.
But at this point, no one believed that Willow had nothing to do with Francesca.
William angrily scolded her. "You maliciously reported kind and innocent people, and you're trying to cover for the evil Francesca! Tell us, what's your relationship with Francesca? Do you also enjoy abusing children?"
"I didn't!" Willow cried out in protest. If she couldn't explain this clearly, she was completely done for!
"Francesca tricked me! She hates Alison. She said Alison was a murderous lunatic, and she made it sound so real! I was too stupid and believed her."
All Willow could think of was to push the blame onto Francesca. She cried pitifully, tears rolling down her cheeks, looking heartbreaking.
"I was worried that Oliver was being fooled by Alison. I just didn't want Oliver to get hurt. I was too impulsive." She tried to paint herself as someone who "meant well but did wrong."
Someone said meaningfully. "Remember those rumors that suddenly appeared a while back?"
"Yeah, I was wondering where they came from. Looks like Willow was behind it."
"After all this fuss, it's just another story of two women fighting over a man. How boring."
Willow clenched her fists and apologized with restraint. "Alison, I'm sorry. I misunderstood. I shouldn't have reported you."
Alison stepped forward and slapped her across the face!
"Just because you apologized, I have to accept it?"
She said coldly.
Willow trembled all over, not just from the pain, but from the humiliation!
"You—you actually dare to hit me!" Willow could no longer maintain her pitiful and regretful appearance, screaming with red eyes.
Without hesitation, Alison slapped her again.
"I already hit you. What's there to be afraid of?"
Willow shook with anger. She asked Oliver. "Are you just going to watch her hit me? Oliver, I was your first woman."
Before she could finish, Alison backhanded another slap across her other cheek.
"Why are you calling for Oliver? You two broke off your engagement ages ago! You've been married for years. Now that you have a husband, behave yourself and stop thinking about other men!"
Alison pointed at Willow's nose and scolded. "You have nothing to do with Oliver anymore! A good ex should be like they're dead!"
Willow was stunned by the beating.
Someone in the crowd whistled. "That's intense! Good hit! Why are these reporters just standing there? Take photos!"
Alison found the voice somewhat familiar. Glancing over, it was indeed Henry.
Oliver blocked her view, took her hand, and looked at her slightly reddened palm. He asked somewhat helplessly. "Does your hand hurt?"
"No." Alison said. "I didn't use much force."
Willow, whose cheeks were swollen high on both sides and who was in too much pain to speak, closed her eyes and fainted from anger.
The ambulance arrived to find there was now one more patient.
The police signaled the paramedics to first take Francesca, whose condition was more serious, to the hospital. But just as they lifted Francesca onto the stretcher, the unconscious Francesca suddenly woke up.
Seeing Alison, Chloe, Mindy, and the other people around them, Francesca trembled all over as if electrocuted, waving her hands wildly, kicking her feet, and shrieking in a hoarse voice.
"I was wrong! I shouldn't have imprisoned you."
"I was wrong! I shouldn't have stuck needles in your eyelids."
"I was wrong! I shouldn't have drawn your blood to sell it."
She confessed like a madwoman, revealing her various crimes. People were shocked at first, then increasingly horrified by what they heard.
William didn't dare think deeply about every sentence she said. He barked at the police. "Stop letting her wail! She's scaring the children! Get her out of here!"
The police snapped out of it and escorted the crazed Francesca into the ambulance.
Chloe watched the ambulance gradually drive away, knowing Francesca would never come back.
William carefully asked Alison. "What Francesca just said?"
"It's all true." Alison nodded. "We can testify. But she's already insane, so holding her responsible doesn't mean much. Could you arrange for someone to take over Red Apple Orphanage?"
"Of course!" William promised her seriously. "Don't worry, we'll definitely have honest and reliable people take over. There will never be anyone like Francesca again!"
As the drama ended and the crowd dispersed, Chloe belatedly wondered if all of this had been planned by Alison.
Alison was also thinking that her plan had gone too smoothly, as if someone had been secretly helping her.
She looked at Oliver, who was also looking at her.
Oliver put his arm around her shoulder with relief and pride, teasing. "Have you been coming here to teach these past few days? Addicted to being a teacher?"
Alison blinked. "Being a teacher is indeed interesting, but it's more fun being your special consultant and helping you solve cases."
Their eyes met, warm feelings flowing between them, until Alison's phone rang.
"It's Ophelia." Alison said.
"My mom probably heard you hit Willow." Oliver was also in a good mood, putting his arm around Alison as they got in the car. "Let's go home. Mom and Dad, plus Micah, Vanessa, Aunt Matilda, Uncle Bradley—they all really want to see you right now."
Francesca's actions made the news and caused an uproar for several days, with millions cursing and condemning her.
She was sent to a psychiatric hospital, and barring any surprises, she would spend the rest of her life there.
Willow hid at home, not daring to go out.
She thought over the matter repeatedly and gradually realized she had fallen into Alison's trap. She was so frustrated that she even coughed up blood.
Willow wasn't willing to give up. This time she had been too impulsive, didn't understand Alison, and underestimated her. Next time, she would definitely make Alison fall into the abyss!
A few days later, Alison received a call from Chloe.
The two had now become good friends.
Chloe asked, "Do you remember Lowell?"
Alison replied, "Who?"
Chloe added, "That nimble fat guy!"
Alison thought for a moment and remembered the fat man who liked to drink and dance.
"What about him?"
Chloe spoke, "He's a real estate agent, and recently he has a house that's become a famous haunted house!"
"Haunted houses are usually man-made, fake." Alison wasn't very interested in this sort of thing.
"Right, this haunted house is someone deliberately causing trouble. But I'm not just chatting with you," Chloe said proudly. "I'm here to give you an important clue!"
"What clue?"
"This house used to belong to Dorian, but Dorian died, so the house was put up for sale." Chloe said mysteriously. "Do you know someone named Isaac? He's Marshall's secretary."
Alison asked, "The one with the toupee?"
"Yes! That's him." Chloe replied, "He's the one behind the haunted house."
