Chapter 99 FINALE
FINALE
Vishiea’s POV
I decided to wear the white gown that Aunt Kennedy gave me. It’s so elegant and it really suits me. It shows my curves, and I love it.
I am also excited right now. We are on our way to the palace and I can’t help but smile.
Cassie and Liliane are with me. Of course, together with their mates.
I’ve been really planning to go back here and now it’s finally happening.
“You’re too excited,” Cassie uttered. I just smiled at her.
“Of course, who wouldn’t? This is the king’s party. It’s my time to meet him,” I giggled. They looked at me worried, but I didn’t think much of it.
Until we finally arrived at the palace. There were too many guests. But then, when we arrived, their attention shifted to us.
“Vishiea.” A man approached me. I smiled, and he just stared at me.
“Hi?” He felt that I was uncomfortable. He chuckled and extended his hand.
“I’m Jaxon. Long time no see. You became more beautiful and wow! You look gorgeous in the dress,” he complimented. I chuckled nervously. Is this really how they compliment here?
“Thank you, Jaxon. You too, you look great,” I told him. Cassie and Liliane chuckled behind me. I got confused and looked at them.
“Don’t think of us,” Cassie said. Beside them were their mates. They were guarding me.
“Look, guys. I’m fine, and I know what you’re doing. Just let us enjoy this night,” I pleaded. That’s why they didn’t have any choice but to agree.
“I’m sorry about that,” I told Jaxon. He just smiled and nodded his head.
Then I walked inside and suddenly bumped into someone. His eyes widened when he saw me.
“Vishiea.” A boy called my name. But I don’t actually know him.
“Do I know you?” I asked him. He smiled at me.
“I am Ryder,” he said, extending his hand. I accepted it and smiled.
Why does it seem like everyone knows me here?
I looked around and the place was wonderful. Wow, the king really had a great party.
Well, I shouldn’t be surprised because he’s the king.
“Are you alright?” Ryder asked me. I just nodded my head and smiled.
“Yeah, I just can’t help but be amazed by this party,” I told him. Then I walked away from him.
The guests were wearing wonderful gowns. They were all talking to each other while I grabbed a glass of wine.
It’s been months, yet I could see that the palace changed.
I actually never heard about the king. But I’m curious about him. I’ve never seen his face.
“Lady Vishiea.” I turned around to look who it was, and I saw a girl. Wait—I remember her, her name is Yana.
“Yana, you’re here.” She hugged me and I hugged her back.
“I didn’t know that you were coming,” she told me. She also changed. I’m happy for her. I just can’t believe I am the reason why she’s no longer a maid here.
“I received an invitation,” I told her. We only met twice, but I could feel that she’s a great woman.
“You still don’t remember?” She asked me suddenly. My forehead knotted, not knowing what she was talking about.
“Remember what?” I asked her, and she smiled and shook her head.
“Nothing, please enjoy the party Lady Anastasia. I’ll just have to do something,” she said, and I nodded.
I let out a deep sigh. People are weird here.
I walked around, trying to wander. This grand hall is huge. Cassie and Liliane already toured me around the palace, but it became more beautiful with the designs here.
But where is the king? Why isn’t he here? This is his party.
I decided to walk out of the giant hall and went to the garden where the fountain was located.
It’s more peaceful here than inside.
“Why are you here?” Cassie suddenly appeared in front of me. I know they are watching me, and I know it’s because of Aunt Kennedy. I heard her say that they should watch me.
I know they are only worried because of what happened to me before. But that was before. I can defend myself.
Besides, we’re always practicing how to fight.
“I know you guys are following me.” I glared at her, but she just stood beside me and smiled.
“Vishiea, we’re just worried about you. Aunt Kennedy is just doing everything she could to protect you. We’re in so much trauma after what happened to you,” Cassie said.
She was right, but I just wanted to live also on my own.
“I know, but it’s too unfair on my part. I feel like a prisoner you guys need to watch all day,” I told her. She chuckled and held my hand.
“I’m sorry if that’s what you think of it. I don’t want to ruin this night for you. I know you’re excited. I’ll talk to them to give you space,” Cassie said and hugged me. I smiled at her.
“Just take care,” she uttered before leaving.
I know they are only doing that for my safety and I appreciate their efforts. I am happy that I found a family like them, safe from what happened to me.
Even if it’s not their responsibility to protect me, they are doing it.
I decided to go back inside. I don’t want them to feel that I don’t want them doing all of this. I was wrong, they are here to accompany me, but here I am pushing them away just because of this party.
I went back inside to find them, but the guests kept on staring at me and murmuring.
“She’s gorgeous!”
“Wow! Look how stunning she is.”
“She’s really beautiful.”
“She’s pretty.”
They said while looking at me. I began to feel uncomfortable because of the attention they were giving me. I looked around to look for Cassie and Liliane, but I couldn’t see them.
Where did they go?
“Where are you guys?” I said while walking from the crowd. But then everyone became silent.
“It’s the king.”
“That’s him.”
Everyone looked at the man walking in the crowd. I got curious and also went there to look at him. But before I could get there, everyone suddenly made way.
Then the music started to play. That’s him—the king.
He suddenly locked eyes with me. Then I felt something. Something that I couldn’t explain.
Why does this man in front of me look familiar?
Time paused while our eyes kept on familiarizing with each other.
He’s the king. Everyone started to dance, but he remained there, standing, looking at me.
I finally met you.
I faintly smiled and remembered the name written in the invitation letter.
“Darius,” I murmured.
