How Dare You Hit Her?
Alexa sighed when she heard what Lydia said—why was she trying to set her up with Aaron?
She walked back to her bedroom and decided to freshen up and leave; she wouldn't give Lydia the chance to set her up.
When she was done freshening up, she took a lot of time to get dressed because she was trying to please Hance.
“Red or blue,” she contemplated with a frown when there was a knock on the door.
“Lydia?” Alexa called, and Lydia stepped in.
“So, what are you doing today after work?” Lydia asked, and Alexa thought for a while.
“I have a tight schedule; why?”
“What’s tight in your schedule?” She scoffed and flipped her over.
“Have dinner with me and my boyfriend; it will be fun." She smiled, but Alexa shook her head to the negative: “I will love to, but I have something to do at dinner.”
This got Lydia confused; either she was at work or at home, so what stuff was she talking about?
“Mr. Williams will be having a late meeting at his apartment with his workers, and I am to be there as his assistant,” Alexa explained, and Lydia frowned.
“The salary isn't that much for you to work for the entire day, and you are not his assistant at work, Caleb is... Tell him that.”
Alexa chuckled and picked up her phone. “How about you do it?”
Lydia smiled embarrassedly, “I will just go to catch a nap right now." then she stopped on her tracks and pointed at the gowns.
“Blue is good.”
Alexa slipped into the blue gown and picked up her bag before she hurried out of the house. She went to the mall to get something.
She wanted to get a gift for Hance; it was going to be the first thing she gave to him, and it had to be special. She also remembered to get one for Lydia, as she has always been very kind to her.
While going through the men's shop, she spotted Josh and Kira engaged in an argument.
“Trouble in paradise,” she thought and ignored them; she wouldn't leave because they were there.
She contemplated what to get; it seems he already had everything. "Alexa,” Josh called and hurried to her.
“What are you doing in a men's shop?” He questioned, and she snorted; it was known of his business, and she wished he would learn that.
“Shouldnt you be at work, Mr. COO?” Alexa asked mockingly; Josh’s demotion was still a slap on his face, and she was trying to rub salt in his injury.
And she had to comment on Mr. Williams's ability to push his nephew from being the CEO to replace someone more capable; it only showed that he was a good businessman. Yeah, that was her man.
“Watch your tongue,” Kira scolded, and Alexa snorted before she continued going through the cufflinks.
"Alexa, I want us to talk,” Josh stated despite the fact that Kira was present.
“Huh?” Kira exclaimed in disbelief. “What do you want to talk to her about?”
“Can you stop being a pain? Go wait for me in the car,” Josh said, and Alexa chuckled before she raised a brow at Kira.
“Didn't you hear him?”
Kira’s fist clenched angrily, not able to believe Josh could tell her such a thing. Why will she ever leave her man alone with his ex-wife?
“Josh…” Kira turned to Josh, whose frown deepened; she knew he was getting angry, so she could only storm off the mall, leaving Alexa and Josh alone.
Alexa folded her arms. “Please be fast, Mr. Adams; what is it that you want to say?” She was getting impatient.
"Alexa, what are you doing with my uncle? Are you getting close to him to make me jealous?” He took a step closer to her before she took an equal step backwards.
“You think so highly of yourself, don't you?” She asked, and he sighed heavily.
"Fine, I messed up and I wish to make it up, so please forgive me.”
His words caused Alexa to burst out in laughter, not able to believe he had said such a thing.
If he had said this months ago, then she would have reconsidered, but now she didn't love or care for him; her heart was occupied by someone else, and everything Josh said right now sounded like a comedy.
“Fuck you,” Alexa snorted before she picked up the first cufflink she saw and walked to a worker to make payment.
When she was done, Alexa walked out of the mall and spotted Kira by the car, who hurriedly approached her.
“What did you talk about with Josh?” Kira asked anxiously.
“Turns out my ex-husband wants me back; is he no longer satisfied by you?” Alexa asked when Kira slapped her hard across the face.
“I dare you to repeat that one more time." Kira scolded Alexa, who held her cheeks tightly; she knew slapping Kira back would only start an unnecessary fight, and she wasn't up for that.
“The truth is indeed bitter; you took my husband from me, and now you are angry that he wants me back." Alexa scolded in disbelief; she still hadn't forgotten the pain she went through when Josh suddenly divorced her.
She had cried for days and kept doubting herself, regretting her past and stupid decisions all because of Kira, so if anyone deserves to be angry right now, then it was her.
“Kira!” Josh called out angrily as he approached them; he was shocked to see Alexa’s face had turned all red with fingerprints on her cheeks.
“Alexa,” he approached her when she pushed him away.
“Put a leach on your bitch's neck, stop messing with me,” Alexa scolded and hurried away when Josh turned to Kira and slapped her angrily.
“Have you lost it? How dare you hit her?”
Kira stood there with a shocked look, not able to believe that Josh had raised his hand on her.
