I Was Ready To Spare You

On the other side of the call was Mr. Williams, who clenched his fist when he heard Alexa scream and exchange words with some men.

"Alexa,” he called, but there was no response. Then there was a beeping sound at the other end of the phone as the call got disconnected.

“Uncle, is everything okay?” Nadia questioned him once she saw the frown on his face.

Hance ignored her and wheeled himself out before he dialed Caleb’s contact: “Something happened to Alexa; you have ten minutes to track her location.” Then he ended the call.

The driver hurried to the car and he gave him Alexa’s home address and asked him to go there faster.

He was anxious; what happened to her? This question kept circling his head.

He had to save her at all costs, so he tried calling her again, but to no avail.

Minutes later, the car arrived at Alexa’s community and was parked in front of her house. Lydia, who was on her way back home, spotted Mr. Williams through the car window.

“Why is he here?” she thought confusedly before she approached the car. “Good day, sir. Do you want to meet Alexa?” Lydia asked.

“Is she home?”

“Probably; let me check, okay?” Lydia hurried inside and found her mother and Norman.

“Little one, where is Alexa?”

“Where are you coming from?” Sarah asked instead.

"Mother, not now, so where is Alexa?”

“She went to visit her parents.”

Lydia frowned. Why will she ever go to visit those ungrateful people? She thought.

“Guess Mr. Williams drove here for nothing,” she muttered, but Norman heard her and followed her outside because he wanted to wish Mr. Williams a happy new year.

“Mr. Williams” Lydia stood by his window.

“Alexa isn't home,” Lydia said, and Hance clenched his fist. This got him worried, and he was scared to his wit. What if something bad happened to her? He thought.

“That’s true; she went to visit her parents at the prison,” said Norman.

“What? Her parents were arrested.” Lydia was shocked, then her eyes widened in shock. “Mark Kennedy.”

"Drive,” Hance ordered the driver, who zoomed off with speed.

“What happened?” They were both shocked as to why he drove out at such a speed. “Did we say something wrong?”

“I never say anything wrong; you must be at fault here,” Norman hissed, then he stared at the car that had already left. “Do you think Alexa is okay?” he asked worriedly.

The mask was taken off Alexa’s head, and she looked around. She was in a bedroom with yellow curtains and was sitting on a queen-size bed.

“Get me out of here," she said as she walked down the bed and hurried to the man who was about to leave, but he got out and closed the door before she could catch up.

Alexa used her fist to bang at the door. “Open this door.”

“Let me out."

“You can’t hold me against my will; it’s a criminal offense,” she kept screaming, but no one replied.

Her fist had already turned red from constantly banging at the door. “Please let me out of here,” Alexa burst out in tears.

She had heard disgusting stories about Mark Kennedy, so being kidnapped by him made her wish to kill herself rather than let him touch her.

“Macy why…” She cried out, “I knew she hated me, but not to this level.”

“Open the door; I promise not to press charges." Alexa hit the door again but received no response.

“Open the door,” she heard a man order from the other side of the door, so she quickly stood up and looked around, wondering if she could find a stick to use.

Alexa spotted a wardrobe filled with heels; she picked up two heels and was ready to hit them on the first person she saw.

The keys on the door were clicking, then the door pushed open, and without wasting time, she shot the heels at the man who opened the door and the other at his friend.

"Ahh,” they were hit by the sharp part of the shoes. She took this as an opportunity and ran out of the room, hurried downstairs, and spotted the maids who stared at her. “Don't let her escape,” they all went out of their way to get her because her escaping meant hell to them.

“Please let me go," Alexa said as one of the maids grabbed her, she pushed the maid away and ran to the front door. She was almost held by the driver, but she hit him on the groin and hurried to the gate.

“Someone help me.” The gates were closed, and she could only scream out for help.

“What’s happening here?” Mark Junior, Mark Kennedy’s son, walked out dressed in a black suit with his hands finely kept in his trouser pocket.

“Please help me." Alexa folded her hands and pleaded with him. She knew that the son was also as bad as the father, but she could only hope that he had mercy on her.

“Did my father still bring a girl home against her wish?” He frowned, and the maids nodded. The two men from upstairs hurried downstairs with blood on their faces. “You…”

“Shut up!!!” Mark Junior scolded them before pointing a finger at them. “How many times have I warned you guys against following my father to bring innocent women into this house?”

Alexa was puzzled. She had asked him for help but never expected him to react this way.

“Where is my father?”

“He went out for a meeting.”

“It’s the new year. Shouldn't you all be celebrating with your families? You all leave,” he ordered, and the maids nodded at once, but the men hesitated; they didn't want to leave without the lady.

One of them approached to catch Alexa. “Don't touch her,” he warned.

Left with no other choice, they left Alexa to the young master, who took out his car keys.

“Get in the car and give me your address.”

Alexa hesitated. “I can go on my own.” If the gates were opened, she would have run out of here.

“Nah, I won't repeat my mistake of letting a girl run out of here alone and screaming, Help me, help me, so it’s either I drop you off at home or you go back in.”

“Okay.” This was the best choice.

She was about to get into his car when there was a hard knock on the gate. “NY police here; open the gates right now.”

Mark stared at her in disbelief. “When did you call the cobs?”

“I didn't call them, I promise.”

“You shouldn't have done that,” he said angrily, and she flinched in fear.

Alexa ran to the gate and was about to find a way to open it when he hurried and grabbed her, closing her mouth with his palms. “I was ready to let you go, but how dare you call the cops on my father? Do you want him going to jail?”

“I didn't,” She struggled to say, but his grip on her mouth tightened, making it impossible to talk.

“If you didn't call them, then who did?” He opened a peephole in the gate and stared outside.

“Don't scream, or else I will kill you before they get in." He warned, and his men also hurried outside as they were all worried.

“Hance Williams is there." His eyes widened in shock when he saw the man in the wheelchair beside the police van.
