He Is Not Gay
Hance’s gaze was stuck on her; he couldn’t look away because he expected her to say something that would make him feel better, but she didn’t.
“She toyed with my emotions,” he thought in disbelief. He was seriously considering being with her, but it was all a joke for her.
After another thirty minutes, they had almost approached the hotel, and Alexa turned to him.
“When you get to the hotel, you should eat something.”
Hance ignored her words. “Do it for yourself; you are not a kid, Mr. Williams,” she sighed, and he still didn’t respond.
Then she thought of lightening the moment, and that’s when she realized that what she said about him was rude and mean. “Since we already argued several times, can I call you Hance?” She crouched toward him, and he scoffed.
“Call me Uncle,” he spouted.
“I will stop here.”
The driver parked the car by the roadside. She pushed the door open and walked down. “Have a good night, rest, uncle,” she sneered and closed the door.

After Alexa dialed Lydia’s number, she took a cab to a bakery located beside the house, where she found Lydia and a man, who had an average height with low cuts.
“Alexa” Lydia waved at her.
Alexa approached them. “This is my friend Alexa, the one I told you about." Alexa was introduced, and the man smiled at Alexa before extending a hand for a handshake.
“Victor, it’s a pleasure to meet one of Lydie’s friends.”
“Thanks” Alexa smiled and signaled to Lydia that they should leave, but Lydia shook her head in denial. “Have a cake with us.”
“I am very tired,” she explained. All she needed was to go back home and sleep.
“Alexa” Lydia pouted with a sad look. “Please, just ten more minutes.” She batted her eyes and pouted her lips.
“Then I will use the restroom first,” she said, turning to leave when she bumped into someone.
“I am so sorry,” he apologized after he realized that the cake he was holding was now rubbed all over her dress.
This made Alexa frown. She lifted her head and stared at the man angrily. Then they both got shocked. "Alexa,” he called in disbelief.
“Shawn”
“You know each other?” Victor asked in a surprised tone, and Shawn nodded.
“You remember my friend I told you about, Alexa, from high school?”
“Oh, th-at Alexa,” Victor said with a teasing tone before he stood up and approached Alexa.
“Then let me do a proper introduction. I am Victor Rey, Shawn’s cousin.”
Alexa smiled and said, “It’s so nice to meet you again, Shawn.” She was super excited to see her old friend, who always had her back.
“Me too, Alexa.”
“Uhm, Alexa, go clean up first.” Lydia butted in, and Alexa nodded. Her dress was a mess. So she excused herself and walked to the restroom.
“So Shawn, you know a girl,” Lydia joked.
“Can I now conclude that you are not gay?”
They all burst out in laughter. “Of course, he is not gay." Victor grabbed Shawn’s shoulder.
"Just that he had given his heart out to one lady, he was not ready to open up to someone else.”
Shawn sighed embarrassedly. “What are you talking about? You and your girlfriend should leave already; I want to close my bakery.”
“Are you chasing us out? and our cake is ruined, so why will we leave?” Lydia sneered.
“I can’t talk to Alexa now; it was unexpected to bump into her, and I don’t know how to behave beside her... Please, you all should just leave." Shawn explained with a sincere tone, and they both understood him.
“Reuniting with a long-time crush isn’t as exciting as I thought,” Victor scoffed, picked up his jacket, and wrapped his hand around Lydia’s waist.
“Go find your friend; I will walk you both home.”
Lydia walked to the restroom and found Alexa cleaning her dress with a tissue. “Is it that bad?” she questioned, and Alexa sighed, threw away the tissue, and stared at her reflection in the mirror.
“It’s okay,” she answered.
“So about Shawn...”
“What about him?”
“He is your high school boyfriend?” Lydia was curious to know about their relationship; her question made Alexa laugh.
“Of course not; we never dated. He was just a friend and my senior.”
“You had feelings for him?”
“Please hold it there; I am very tired as it is, and all I need is rest. So can we please go home?” She already knew what Lydia was trying to do by asking her such questions, and she wasn’t in the mood for that.
“Let’s go”
They both walked out of the restroom and found only Victor there. Alexa looked around, but she couldn’t spot Shawn.
“Shall we?” he asked, and they both nodded.
Alexa wanted to ask about Shawn, but she didn’t want Lydia to misunderstand her question, so she let it go and walked out of the bakery with them.
“Shawn owns this bakery; you can always find him here,” Victor said, and she nodded.
The two love birds walked in front while she followed behind; now she could understand the concept of being a third wheel.
When they got close to the house, Victor bid them goodbye, and Lydia now clung to Alexa. “Isn't he cute?” she questioned, and Alexa sighed.
"Unfortunately, I didn’t take a proper look at him,” she joked, and they stopped in their tracks when they noticed some familiar people beside the door.
“Oh my, what is he doing here?” Lydia asked in a shocked tone. She grabbed Alexa’s hand so they could run, but Alexa winced in pain.
Her hand was still hurting a lot. “What’s wrong?” asked Lydia. It was at that moment that she noticed Alexa’s hand.
“Let’s not run." Alexa retracted her hand, breathed heavily, and stared at Mark Kennedy, who leaned on his car with his two men.
“We haven’t done anything to him, so why should we run?” she scoffed.
“Are you sure? He is going to try and kidnap you again." Lydia loved fighting back, but this man was just shameful; he was capable of anything.
“Then let him try,” she said, marching forward, and Lydia followed her.
