“Mind your own business.” He said coldly and left the room. He didn’t even greet his own parents on the way out of the house. The two photos were clearly taken today. Ava, Selden, and Jean were all at the event in the park. It seemed that they had a good time. As he looked at their smiles and how they stood so close to each other, it seemed that they were the real family! No wonder Ava did not want him to follow them this morning. It turned out that she had already found a companion! Damien’s fists had already tightened unconsciously and his eyes were so dark at this point as if it was a bottomless dark abyss.
At night. After Ava left the park with Jean, they went to have a delicious meal and it was already late when they got home.
The two of them walked into the house talking and laughing all the way but they did not see Damien anywhere. The butler told her, “Mr. Radbury said that he needed to meet some clients and he’ll be back a little later tonight.” Ava thought to herself, what kind of clients did he need to meet on a weekend? However, she had no right to fuss about Damien’s schedule at all. She continued to chat with Jean until late at night, but Damien had still not come home. “Mommy, why hasn’t daddy come back yet?” Jean asked.
“Let’s not care about that and get you ready for bed okay? You have class tomorrow!” After coaxing her son to bed, Ava went back to her own bed and fell asleep.
The next morning when she got up, there was still no sign of Damien. It seemed that he didn’t even come back last night. Then, she glanced at the door of the guest room, but she said nothing. During breakfast, the butler said, “It’s been a long time since Mr. Radbury left home all night like this without a phone call. Something must be wrong.” However, Ava lowered her head and finished the porridge in her bowl as she needed to go to work soon. Just as she was about to leave the house, she bumped into Damien. She wanted to say hello to him, but he acted as if he didn’t see her and entered the house right away. Damien reeked of alcohol and Ava could clearly smell that! “Damien, you…” She wanted to ask him where he went last night, but she held herself back in the end.
He was gone the whole night and came back with such a huge stench of alcohol, plus even his coat was missing. Wasn’t it clear enough where he went? She had no right to ask where he went. As she thought of this, she put on her shoes and left for work. That day, Damien didn’t show up for work. When Ava returned home, Damien put aside the magazine he was reading and entered the study as soon as he saw her.
