He found himself in a beautiful garden. Caesar was holding Selena in his arms. Trying to kiss her. She squirmed, crying and begging to let go of her. But he was too strong. Caesar continued to hold her. He was laughing down at her, his eyes dark, hideous and inhumane. His laugh was maniacal and unfeeling; a macabre of melancholic horror. He wouldn’t let go of her. He was enjoying himself. Enjoying how she was suffering in his arms.
“Let her go!” He screamed “let her go,”
“Take it easy,” a voice said. “You are having a bad nightmare, my friend,”
From a distance, a voice beckoned to him, echoing. He found himself walking through a dim alleyway, its end illuminated by a faint glow. He kept on walking, drawn to the intensifying brightness, its radiance growing stronger with each step. Shielding his eyes against the blinding beam, he kept on walking.
“Let her go!” He screamed again. “Leave her alone, you sick bastard,”
A heavy slap smacked very hard across his face. It jerked him to awareness. Victor’s eyes flew open.
“You are back huh?” A voice said.
“What’s this…..place?”
“It's the devil’s workshop,” the voice said, laughing.
Victor squinted his eyes shut in pain against the throbbing that shook his temples. He opened his eyes slowly. Then the tall, bulk built Dvorak came into view.
“I remember everything now,” he said.
“That’s nice. You’ve been out for a very long time. Tell me what you were dreaming about?”
“I don’t know,” he mumbled, “can’t remember”
“That’s fine. Everyone forgets their dreams once in a while,” Dvorak said reasonably.
“When are you gonna finally bring yourself to kill me?”
Dvorak scoffed.
“Why the hurry, my friend? Don’t you like my company?”
“I don’t! I just want us to get over all these that’s all,”
Dvorak feigned a look of pain.
“I should be offended. I thought you liked my company.” He shrugged indifferently. “Anyways, even though you want things to be rushed. I’m sorry to tell you that it just can’t happen that way. You see, Mr Davenport told me fun things like this can’t be rushed. It’s taking a slow, gradual step. Now, I know that man was right. This is the only way to have fun.”He paused and went on. “While you were out, I was fooling around with some stuff. And oh boy! I think I discovered something,” he went to the table, picked up something and came over to Victor. “How would you like a taste of this my friend,” he held his hand up.
Victor focused his eyes and looked up at Dvorak. The man held a syringe, the glass tube glistening in the hard light of the room, the needle reflecting tiny slivers of light. In the barrel, Victor saw a dark brown liquid. He didn’t know what it was.
“What is it?” He asked.
“Why are you asking? Do you like it? Of course, you do! That’s why you are curious to know” Dvorak’s voice went on smooth and soft now. “This right here reacts to wolf blood. It’s a kind of reactant substance or one of those scientific things. I believe it works just like when you add salt to an earthworm. I don’t know how powerful it is though but I’m willing to try and see. How’ bout you? Are you willing to try and see?”
“Why can’t you just kill me, man?” Victor seethed out. “Just be a goddamned man and do it!”
“Hey, hey, hey,” Dvorak said. “What’s the rush? I told you this can’t be rushed. Don’t you understand, my friend? I wanna enjoy this. You and your kind were having fun while killing we humans. You enjoyed it. You loved it. Now, it’s time for me to have my fun too, is that too hard to understand? Are you saying I can’t have my own fun too?”
“Go ahead, Dvorak. Have all the fun you want. Do whatever you wanna do with me. You think I care what happens to me?” He gave a low, rasping laugh. “I don’t give a fuck about myself. The only thing I care about is Selena. She’s not here anymore. Hell, I might not even see her again. Go ahead, brother, juice me!”
“Sure, sure. I’m as well curious as to see what this little thing can do” and holding the syringe close to Victor’s stomach, his thumb tightened on the plunger. He wet his lips as the liquid slowly dribbled out of the syringe glass.
Victor winced and bit hard on his lower lip as he felt something liquefying hot spread into him.
“Well, it’s all there,” Dvorak said and straightened. He held the empty syringe to Victor 's face and grinned. “You are so loaded now, my friend”
“I don’t care….. I don’t…..” and Victor found out that he couldn’t say anymore. His throat had suddenly froze up. His eyes began to tear and his muscles fluttered. His face fell apart gradually, it was a little muscle twitch near his eye and a hard twitch close to his lips. His chin started to tremble.
Then his whole face became a twitching mass of flesh that shivered uncontrollably. His teeth were rattling hard and he could hear them grind against each other. His eyes had turned crimson and were hurting hard. He began to shriek and shriek. His hands and feet were shaking violently as if he had just been dipped inside an Artic ocean and taken out. The inside of him was hot as hell. There was something hot as lava moving through him, tearing and bleaching the inside of him.
He began to scream. He sounded like a wounded lion. All at once, his whole body began to twitch spasmodically, jerking and wrenching in a useless effort to be free of the clinging chains and shackles. He was having a fit. An extraordinary one.
Dvorak watched on, a mesmerized, fascinated expression on his face.
“I’ll be damned. This is beautiful,” he muttered as Victor continued to twitch mercilessly.
