She screamed; it sounded like the whinnying of a wounded horse. Everything looked like a Deja vu; a recap of her sordid experience with Conan in Sam’s bar.
She would have bolted from the room if not for that Caesar held her powerfully to the spot. She turned her face away, shivering with fear.
Victor’s yellow gleaming eyes — for it was Victor who was the wolf — rested on Caesar , then his thick furry brows creased together in a confusing anger, when he saw Selena.
At that moment, he realized Caesar had tricked him to this place. He had intentionally lured him here. It was the wolf’s hunter plan alone. He had followed Caesar ’s scent to this awful room. Thinking that was where they would have their final showdown. Of course! He had perceived Selena’s scent too. But he hadn’t let his mind dwell on it. The rage in him to kill Caesar was all he was thinking about. How was he to know that Selena was with him? Caesar had played a fast one on him and it had worked. A maddening rage went through him. He wanted to rip off Caesar ’s head.
He howled, a howl filled with anguish and resentment, his massive furry chest rising and falling, he padded menacingly towards them.
“Stop!” Caesar shouted. “I know you can hear me in there. You see this right here,” he flashed the knife at the werewolf. “If you come any closer, I will rip her belly wide open.” The big wolf halted instantly. “Good! I know you are a smart one. You are always a smart one, Victor.
At the mention of Victor, Selena, white and breathless, stiffened. Even in her great fear, part of her senses was still working.
“Victor?” Her voice rose to a squeak. “What do you mean by Victor ?…….I’ve you lost your mind?”
“Shut up!” Caesar snapped at her, then he turned malicious eyes to the wolf. “Victor, listen to me. I want you to reveal yourself to her. She needs to know the truth. She’s needs to know the kind of monster she’s been fucking!” He drew Selena tightly against himself and placed the knife at her throat, “‘I swear to God, I will slit her throat if you don’t do as I say. Reveal yourself! Now!” He barked.
At that moment, lots of wild thoughts were running through Selena’s head. She couldn’t think clearly. Her heart pounding against her rib cage, she was thinking all these were all a bad dream; a nightmare and nothing more.
Then something terribly fascinating begins to happen in the room. The wolf with his big furry head, extraordinary massive arms and feet and with its evil snuggled paws begins to shift.
It first started with his dark, rough furs; they were slowly whistling back into his body. His claws started to slip in gradually back into his fingers.
His extremely swelled body began to deflate; relaxing and relaxing.
Selena was paralyzed with terror. She stood motionless, her hands clenched together as she watched this mystifying transformation. They begin to see a human head, arms and feet taking form gradually and gradually.
And a moment longer; Victor stood completely naked before them.
Selena screamed. Thunder crashed suddenly overhead, drowning her wild screams. Caesar began to laugh; a horrifying maniacal laugh of ecstasy.
“You see?” He screamed happily into her ears. “This is what you left me for? You left me for a fucking animal, you fool! Look at him! He fooled you! He’s not human! Your darling Victor is an animal in human clothing. He’s a werewolf!” and he began to laugh hysterically.
Selena was shaking her head vigorously, shuddering. She was staring at Victor in utter disbelief.
“No!” She cried, and pressing her hands to her face she screamed again. “No! This can’t be real! You are not Victor! This is not Victor!”
Victor stood there, staring at her stupidly. He couldn’t even say anything. His throat was dry with emotion; his eyes filled with despair and pain.
“Go on, tell her!” Caesar yelled at him. “Tell her, you are Victor. If you don’t, I will slit her open. I swear to God I will! Go on, tell her!” The knife in his hand moved threateningly across Selena’s throat.
“Wait, Don’t!” Victor screamed at Caesar, fear in his voice. He dragged his eyes to Selena, then he began to move forward slowly, his steps hesitant. “Selena, it’s me.” He was looking pleading at her, his eyes beseeching “It’s Victor,” His voice choked. “I’m sorry my love, I couldn’t bring myself to tell you the truth. I’m awfully so sorry,”
Hearing his voice; a sudden realization hits her. The whole reason while Caesar had brought her to this horrible, smelly place dawned on her. He wanted her to reveal to her the true nature of the man she had fallen in love with; the real identity of the man she was pregnant for. She was pregnant with a werewolf. The seed of a beast was growing inside of her. The ominous, sordid thought of this resounded in her head and she suddenly gave a wild scream. Both Caesar and Victor nearly jumped out of their skins.
“Oh,God!” She screamed, backing hard into Caesar ’s body as she stared vividly at Victor. “Why Victor??why? It wasn’t to be like this! How could you do this to me? I trusted you! I loved you! You should have told me! I deserved to know the truth!”
Her voice was like a slow, curling lash that struck Victor viciously where he stood.
“I’m sorry,” he gasped. “I’m sorry, Selena. I never meant to hurt, my love,”
Selena put her hand to her mouth, then her eyes rolled back and she went limp in Caesar ’s arms.
Caesar, a little scared, let her slip slowly to the floor. Victor ran forward. But Caesar flashed the knife at him.
“Back off, wolf man,” Caesar roared.
Victor halted, his chest heaving with rage, his eyes filled with worry.
Caesar knelt beside Selena and turned her over. A quick glance assured him that she had only fainted. Swiftly, he got to his feet and pointed the sharp point of the knife at Victor .
“Now that you have finally revealed yourself to her? How do you like it?” He jeered, his eyes glittering with hatred.
“I’ll kill you for this!” Victoryelled at him and he took a menacing forward, the veins in his arms standing out like a tight rope as he clenched his fist.
Caesar springs back, waving the knife in his hands viciously.
“You should be grateful, my friend,” he grinned wickedly. “You should be thankful too. Cause now, your bitch knows the kind of animal that’s been screwing her. No more secrets. No more hide and seek.Ain’t ya glad?”
“I’ll kill you,” Victor screamed and he lunged forward. His big fist raised. “I fucking rip you apart,”
“Shoot! Now,” Caesar bawled. “Shoot!”
Dvorak, who had been patiently hiding behind the door the whole time and watching them, raised the gun in his hand. Taking a careful, pistol shot aim, he squeezed the trigger and the crash of gunfire rolled round the still room.
The slug hit Victor in the middle of his chest. He dropped to the ground like a stricken fly. The exhiritating strength in him went out like a snuffled candlelight. He suddenly felt drained and sapped.
His eyes were flashing technicolor and his head felt heady. Drowsy, he peered at Caesar with difficulty, not comprehending ; not understanding what was happening to him. Then finally, he closed his eyes and lost himself to the darkness of unconsciousness that settled over him.
Dvorak stepped out from behind the door, a grimed, satisfied expression on his face. He came over to where Caesar stood.
Caesar said to him;
“Good job, Dvorak. Good job,”
Dvorak grinned and they both looked down at Selena and Victor who lay unconscious on the cold floor.
“What now?” Dvorak said.
Caesar shrugged indifferently.
“I’m taking Selena with me,” His eyes roved to the chains dangling from the ceilings and the shackles on the ground. “Strapped Victor him up. We’ll torture him for three days or so then we’ll kill him”
“I wanna kill him now,” Dvorak said tightly.
“No! Let him suffer for first. Then you can do with him as you please,”
Dvorak shook his head.
“This is a mistake, sir. I don’t understand it. Why don’t we just kill him? We ought ……….” But Caesar raised his hand, cutting him off.
“Do what I say, my friend. Victor is now your prisoner. He’s here for your amusement. It’s part of the reason why I led him here. Amuse yourself with him for a few days and kill him off,” and saying that he knelt beside the unconscious Selena, picking her up in his arms. He got to his feet with a grunt and gestured at the long whip resting on a wall in the corner. “That’s one of your tools, brother. I’m sure there are plenty more if you look around. This is now your workshop, Dvorak.” And with that, he walked out of the room with Selena in his arms.
