Aria’s POV
I felt sore, and displeased seeing everything that was happening around me. Readjusting my body against the wall I looked around the room where I was kept, there seemed to be something gloomy about this place.
The feeling got worse but still, I tried to keep my anger under control, this inner battle continued for a few minutes but it was futile. I decided to let it out however it was as if a force kept holding me back.
I couldn't express my emotions as I kept pushing to be angry still there was no breakthrough. With everything going on around me it was only normal that I would be pissed and try to get out of this bounds but this place was limiting.
Suddenly I felt a presence on my right-hand side, “ Who is there? Show your face!” I shouted, squinting my eyes but it seemed useless. All I could hear was his boots clanking against the floor, my heart kept thumping in my chest while I adjusted my body on the ground.
“What do you want from me? Why are you doing this to me? What have you done to me?” I yelled staring angrily towards his direction.
He moved closer to me and stood there staring down at me,
“Oh Aria, Don’t beat yourself up about it. There is nothing for you to worry about, I know you are a time bomb with a very short fuse. This place is fortified enough so we don’t end up dead, it will keep you in check and help you control your bizarre emotions so we don't all end up getting blown up.” he said coldly.
I flinched at the sound of his voice although it was not so clear because something like a device helped to distort the sound waves of his words.
Staying at his physical appearance there was something familiar about his physique, his wavy hair, there was this aura around him but I could not pinpoint it.
Everything about him was a mystery, his scent was hard to get although his aura was familiar it was masked. I tried to get a look at his face from the cloak he wore. It was a waste because he was just so good at concealing his identity.
“What do you want from me? Why are you doing this? Just let me go, please. I can sort things and give you what you want, just let me go.” I pleaded tears welling up in my eyes.
He turned around and signaled to the guards who were by the door, I wondered what he had up his sleeves. This man looked dangerous and was a man of little words.
Looking up I was surprised to see two guards dragging Tiara into the room where I was kept, my mind suddenly filled up with bitterness while I stared at her.
“You!! What are you doing here? Get her out of my sight! Take her away!” I yelled trying to break free from the bounds.
Instantly Tiara started pleading, “Please Aria, I would never do something like this to you. He is lying, don’t listen to all his lies. This man is manipulative and attempts to get away with his evil plans, I would never intentionally hurt you. He came at me and told me lies distorting my mind. Please forgive me, Aria, believe me.”
I scoffed loudly while she continued lamenting, “What? Manipulation, Oh really Tiara, Is that all you got?” I shot back angrily waiting for her response while anger coursed through my veins.
Her countenance was so sad I was almost falling for her stupid lies, while trying to keep my anger at bay Tiara mindlinked me.
“Please Aria, I was not in my right mind when all of this happened. He controlled me into doing this, I would never intentionally hurt you or watch you suffer. He is doing this to make us hate each other, I know he plans to turn us against one another. If we work together we can defeat him, Don’t listen to him!” she narrated before one of the guards pushed her forward angrily causing her to lose her balance.
Tiara fell to the ground and bruised her knee in the process, she yelled out in pain while clutching her left knee. The wicked guard did not care as he yanked her upwards, “You deserve this, I know you were communicating with her earlier.” he spat out furiously.
I was thrown into a complete state of dilemma after listening to what Tiara said earlier, it was hard to believe all that she said but at the same time, it was even more difficult not to. At this point it was challenging to pick a side, the picture he showed me earlier about my mate seemed photoshopped but still, it looked too good to be a lie.
Seeing Connor kiss Sophia that way was heart-wrenching and the image was stuck in my mind, How could he do this to us? I thought silently going through an intense state of agony.
Did he intentionally stay back to be with the enemy, Sophia? After everything she has done to jeopardize the peace of the pack, how could he end up in her arms after he told us to go ahead?
My mind was in a state of turmoil trying to analyze everything that transpired from the pack until now. He must have been looking for a way to be alone with her from the beginning that’s why he instructed us to go ahead without him claiming he was going to come with reinforcement which he never brought.
Connor lied to me and betrayed me without thinking of the years we spent together. My eyes darted to the rear end of the room and there I saw my son. My heart plunges even further, What kind of mother is not powerful enough to save her son when he is in danger?
I stayed there not able to use my powers since the fucking room was confined in the first place, all I wished for was to leave this room with my son alive.
Immediately the guards that brought Tiara into the room pushed her towards the rear end of the room where my son was kept, he appeared scared as the faces were not familiar to him.
My heart went out to him and the very next minute one of the guards handed a knife to Tiara.
She was hesitant at first but they were rough on her as one of them tossed her against the wall and said, “You seem to be disobedient and we cannot guarantee what would happen if you disobey direct orders from the boss.”
Tiara suddenly became afraid as she took the knife from his hands, shivering from the impact of their words.
Immediately I began trembling when they ordered her, “Kill the boy!”
I went on my knees crying and pleading, “No! No! TIARA! Not my son, please. He is everything I have left, don’t do this to me. There was be another way out.” I Lamented staring from Tiara to the guards who seemed to be amused by my words.
“Please I would do anything, just give me the order. I promise to do anything you want me to do, don’t harm my son. Spare his life, he is only a little child!” I added tears streaming down my eyes.
The man who appeared to be the leader suddenly cleared his throat from where he stood watching the whole drama unfold before him.
“Anything, Aria?“he asked sternly looking into my eyes. I nodded with tears flowing down my cheeks.
“Alright, I have a task for you. I want you to do a video recording and you are going to tell your mate to come to meet you at a certain location I would give to you. You will inform him that his son is in danger but you found him and now your lives are in danger so he should come and rescue the both of you. This has to be convincing because I need him at that location where my men would be waiting for his arrival!” he instructed firmly gazing at me.
I was relieved to know what he wanted in exchange for my son’s safety was my mate, Connor. Right now his life did not matter to me because he already betrayed my trust so saving my son was a priority. So I blurted out,
“I would do it! My son is my priority just give me a phone.” I requested quickly.
Tiara immediately said, “No don’t do it, he is only trying to get Connor now because their pawn, Sophia is no longer taking orders from him. Your mate is presently with Sophia so he would not fall for this trick. They are just trying to break you and use you for whatever stupid plans he has put in place. Don’t fall for it, Aria. Be smart about this.”
“But he would kill my son,” I replied, sobbing. Instantly one of the guards moved closer to Tiara putting a knife behind her back, “Kill the boy if you want to live!” he ordered sternly.
Quickly I shouted, “I would do it, just let him go.” However, Tiara responded, “I'm sorry Aria but I cannot let you do that to the Alpha.”
The next moment she lifted her hands holding the knife, instantly adrenaline shot up my body watching my son stay defenseless before her.
I was stunned by the next turn of events, “Uncle Noah! Save me!” my son shouted, staring at the man who was hiding his face with a cloak.
Redirecting my gaze at him I gaped, “What?”
