95. Kidnapped
Margaret

I went cold, not knowing what to say, my legs trembling slightly as I noticed the inquisitive gaze of that sick son of a bitch, looking at me with a glint of amusement in his horrible eyes.

I didn't let myself be intimidated, I clenched my fists and relaxed a bit, putting on a smile that I hoped would be enough to quell his suspicions, although I was sure that was impossible.

The bastard had found me out.

"Good joke, Favio, but I'm Graciela," I said playfully, watching him narrow his eyes. "Although Margaret isn't a bad name, I think I'll consider it."

As the words left my lips, I felt like an Oscar-worthy actress, not even blinking as I spoke.

Favio just gave me a twisted smile, making my blood run even colder. I could feel my pulse quicken and my hands start to sweat.

"You know, when I started researching you, there were no intentions of finding something like this," he paced back and forth thoughtfully. "I liked you, you weren't bad looking, and it was obvious that your genes are of quality, and since absolutely everything is on the internet now, I searched for you on every social media platform you can name, there was no trace of you, I didn't know whether to think you're authentic or just a liar. I didn't want to think badly of you, but I chose the latter, you can imagine the type of person you can find nowadays.

"I just had to remember a thing or two I learned when I was younger, I contacted some friends, but it turned out that several of them were dead, why would that be?" he smirked maliciously. "Well, that doesn't matter. You know, the Russian mafia, those crazy fuckers in that brotherhood, ruling Moscow, and they have friends everywhere, except in the White Supremacy Association. I didn't pass the initiation, much to my father's displeasure, but it didn't stop me from having friends there, and they were all looking for a woman like you.

"As Favio spoke, he descended the steps towards me, I, on the other hand, descended them too, I didn't want to make any sudden movements because, for starters, Fernando had done me the favor of bringing instincts into me, and slowly moving away was what always worked for me to avoid ending up with broken bones.

"I refused to believe, I had already accepted the fact that you had someone else's child inside you, of course, we could always have plans for that, but your necklace, Margaret, your fucking necklace... I had to stop hiding the obvious when I saw your necklace," his face turned red with anger. "Stupid bitch, if you had had a little more brain, you would have gotten rid of it," he looked at me with blazing eyes. "Let's play cat and mouse, shall we? I'll give you a 15-minute head start. Tic-tac, tic-tac."

Once he finished speaking, I was really ready to run for my life, but a voice interrupted me.

"The only one who needs a 15-minute head start is you, do you really think a nobody like you can get the better of a woman from the gang?"

It had only been a few minutes since I saw Tyler, but I would never be so happy to see him again.

"Who the hell are you?" Flavio snapped, annoyed.

"Save the attempt to intimidate me, you know your people are dropping like flies, and that hiring mercenaries is their only hope, but of course, covering up all the cold-blooded murders against innocent people just because of their race doesn't come cheap, and if the Association is good for something, it's with numbers. Of course, you wouldn't have a fucking clue, they never accepted you.”

Tyler's eyes locked onto me; he extended his hand in my direction, took it, and I descended the remaining stairs to stand by his side.

"They'll cut your tongue out for speaking that way about the Association."

"If someone wants to try, I'll gladly welcome them, but right now I have to take care of you, don't I?" Tyler didn't take his eyes off Favio even when speaking to me. "Madame, I regret to say this, but I must deprive you of my company. Please excuse me with the boss."

"Ty-Tyler, I..."

"She has to go, we have a schedule to keep, and being late is something we hate, I'll join you later, but I have to take Favio for a walk."

I didn't even glance at Favio before almost fleeing the scene.

I glanced at the clock over and over again, only getting more anxious than ever. It was already 11:17 PM.

I had to leave town to go to Perm on the last bus, one that Nikolay had assured would only open its doors starting from 11:20, but it was already 11:22, I was at the station, and as far as I knew, there was no sign of trouble.

I hadn't been able to eat anything since seeing Favio; I had only gone home to grab the bag I had prepared, leaving the apartment key inside the property, as Tyler had instructed me. Then I had gone to the address he had given me, which turned out to be a gym, and showed my necklace.

Within seconds, I had a key in my hand; that key would lead me to the car I would use to go to the next town, which was smaller than the previous one, where I would catch the bus to Perm.

To Nikolay.

Now I found myself at the bus station, with my hands sweating cold, positioned over my belly.

I couldn't calm down, and apparently, my son or daughter couldn't either, as they hadn't stopped moving, and as much as I wanted to stay calm to stop sweating and try to make the inhabitant of my body stop moving, we were both temporarily screwed.

I wouldn't be calm until I saw Nikolay.

I checked the time again, and the clock read 11:29. I started moving towards the bus, internally praying to arrive safely in Perm and be reunited with Nikolay.

"Apologies for the delay, madam."

Thank God.

I looked at Tyler, and a couple of tears fell down my face. What a relief, how much damn relief.

"Do you have any idea how much anxiety you gave me? I almost died."

"Our friend had a couple of companions waiting at his house. It was a party, and hiding bodies in an unknown place gives you a headache. It's not easy."

I didn't respond to his words and boarded the bus with him. Once we were both inside, the doors closed.

I wanted to heave a sigh of relief, but I didn't allow myself; I still didn't want to count my chickens before they hatched.

Halfway through the journey, we were intercepted by a group of masked men; I felt panic grip me when one of them went straight to my seat and pointed at the other speaking in Russian, too fast for me to understand.

I swallowed hard and started screaming when one of them pulled me away from Tyler; he tried to defend himself, but he was hit with the butt of a gun, making me scream in even more terror.

"Nikolay," I thought with fear, "please, help me.”
