109. Leakage

109. Leakage
Days Later

"Sir, I have to inform you about a Code Orange."

Damn.

"What's going on, Tyrell?" A shiver ran down my spine.

"Sir, I've been called by the police, where Mike was detained, reporting that he escaped and they haven't found him yet."

The hair on the back of my neck stood up.

"Tyrell, how is that possible?" I pounded the table in frustration. "Call Abel and sort this out now."

My mind raced; I couldn't believe it. He was sick. Would he come here?

Margaret.

I looked at Tyrell with wide eyes, and he nodded with concern. He knew what I was thinking.

"Have Luca be Margaret's bodyguard. I don't want her going anywhere alone, understood?" Tyrell nodded. "Alright, I want Luca with her. I don't know how I'll do it, but I'll try to convince him," I sighed and rubbed my temples.

This would be a problem, I knew it. This was a sign that someone like me didn't deserve to be happy; eventually, the darkness of my past would catch up with me, preventing me from being happy.

"Yes, sir. Abel is already tracking the city's cameras and coordinating a team to search for him 24/7," Tyrell said. "And another one here at the house, in case he comes back." Tyrell grimaced, still not knowing how he had slipped away last time. I knew that worried him a lot.

"Alright, Tyrell, keep me updated. Thank you," I gestured for him to leave and dropped my head into my hands.

"Yes, sir," I heard his footsteps and the door closing.

I pounded the table. Why? Why? I worried he might hurt Margaret.

I looked out the window, watching the heavy rain patter against the glass. I just wanted to be calm and enjoy the ray of light that had come into my life. I couldn't involve Margaret in this; she was too sweet, too good, too perfect, she was... too much for me.

I saw a figure move and Margaret walked elegantly towards me.

She gently stroked my hair, and I allowed myself to be enveloped by that tender and comforting touch. I sat her on my lap, and she hugged me, burying her head in my neck.

Her scent, the touch of her skin... everything about her relaxed me and brought calmness back to my body. It was fascinating.

"My love, what's wrong?" She lifted her head and searched my eyes; seeing her worried face was too much for me.

She shouldn't be caught up in this shit.

"Tell me," she asked gently.

"Don't worry, I have everything under control, okay?" She caressed my face and smiled. Seeing her smile was like a balm for me.

"I don't doubt that," she raised an eyebrow and widened her smile, making me smile too. "But, what do you need to control? What's wrong? Can I help you with something?"

"Yes, you can help me. Never leave my side," far from being surprised or scared, she smiled.

With her, I am another man. I love her so much, it hurts. I want us to be together, an "us".

"You're worrying me, sweetheart," she furrowed her brow and a small V formed between her eyebrows.

I sighed heavily.

She had to know, otherwise I couldn't protect her.

"Tyrell just informed me that Mike escaped and they haven't found him," I confessed.

She looked at me intensely, fear in her eyes.

"God," she gasped worriedly, exactly what I wanted to avoid.

The idea of him hurting Margaret was terrifying. How would I protect her?

"Promise me you won't leave my side, I need you to be safe. I want you with me for a long time," I caressed her cheek. "I just want to protect you because you matter to me."

She didn't speak, just looked at me.

I leaned in and kissed her lips softly. I heard her intake of breath.

"Think about it, okay? Until this is resolved, you'll have Leonid at your disposal," I said between soft, delicate kisses, feeling my friend awaken.

I wanted to distract her with my intentions and get her to say yes before losing myself in her.

I held the back of her neck and deepened the kiss, caressing her breasts. Damn, I couldn't hold back, her body was like a fantasy to me.

"Say yes," I pleaded.

"Come on, baby. Say yes so I can make love to you."

I heard her irregular breathing and saw her dilated pupils, her vision clouded by desire.

I caressed her neck and brushed her lips with mine. I mentally encouraged her to tell me what she wanted to hear.

"Okay, but I want something in return," she seductively rubbed her beautiful ass against my erection, and a wolfish grin spread across my lips.

She was mine.

I slowly unbuttoned her shirt and gently removed it from her shoulders. I softly traced over the fine lace of her bra, and her nipples hardened between my fingers.

She had a spectacular body.

I easily got lost in that body, I easily got lost in her. In my girl, in the woman I love.

...

Months Later

We had gone out on a whim of Margaret's, security had been doubled, but there had been no mishap, except when my wife began to feel like she was splitting in two.

I was going to die of desperation, seeing her pain was like an agony in flames and the worst torture in the world, I didn't want to go through anything like it again.

"I swear I'm going to pass out," I felt cold sweat in the car, no bodyguard or other security member could prevent me from being petrified in my seat. "Are you okay? Margaret?"

"Just drive," she spoke through gritted teeth, trembling from head to toe.

Her breathing was erratic, sweat beaded her forehead, and the groans (and screams) she let out far too often for my liking had me on the verge of having a syncope.

"Margaret..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAHH, drive, damn it!" I stepped on the accelerator, feeling my body tremble from the murderous expression she wore at that moment.

"Where did your manliness go, Nikolay Ivanov?" mocked my conscience.

That surely went down the drain, especially when I saw my wife release about 5 liters of water, making me feel more urgent to get to the damn hospital.

"What do I do?" I turned to her. "What do I do, damn it?!"
