42. Fears of me
"Where do you think you're going?," a deep voice growled.
Slowly Danika backed away from the outcropping of trees before her, as she watched the shadows. Her eyes widened as Shane stepped out of the darkness of the trees, gulping at the thought he was there. Somehow, someway, as impossible as it was for her to believe, he'd tracked her down. As if he'd known precisely where she was.
Nor could she keep her eyes from wandering down the length of his body, her heart rate picking up at seeing his attire. Or lack thereof. Oh god, the man was naked. He stood before her in all of his naked glory, showing no embarrassment and shame of his appearance.
"Shane," she bit off on a moan, tormented by the image he made standing before her tonight. Right then Danika couldn't help being plagued by images of being taken so wildly, the man was all animal.
He cocked his eye and waggled his brows in response, as if somehow being aware of the thoughts going through her mind. Danika dropped her head ever so slightly, a crimson blush stained her cheeks and down her neck. Embarrassed at the knowledge Shane was aware of the thoughts filtering through her mind. The naughty and sexy thoughts she'd been having of him.
This realization only served to bring the thoughts to the forefront of her mind, intensifying the sexual fantasies his presence evoked. Her heartbeat picked up at the thought of him coming out of the shadows, of being thrown down on the ground. Danika fought against the moan threatening to surface, of having those hands on her body. Clawing her tender flesh, the domination and submission, of ripping the clothes from her. Her body swayed ever so lightly at the fantasy of both of them naked, out in the middle of the storm, being taken like the animal he was.
"I asked you a fucking question!" Shane continued to stalk towards her, closing the gap of distance between their bodies. He failed to care at that moment he was blissfully naked, allowing her the time to ogle the body she'd known so briefly earlier. "Where are you going, Danika?"
Danika visibly trembled in the wake of his growl washing over her body, evoking sensations she didn't want to think about. She tried fighting against the allure of this man on her, the desire to buckle to her knees before him. To plead with him to take her again, right there on the ground, devouring her as only he'd ever done.
An almost wicked grin spread across his face, his eyes challenging her. "My dear Danika. You wouldn't be trying to run away from me, now are you?"
She whimpered in response, feeling the heat of his body as he came ever near her, felt the warmth of his breath. Danika tried not to react to his presence, aware it was a sign of weakness she couldn't afford, but she couldn't seem to hold it in. Someone usually known for their strength, in that moment she felt as weak as a kitten, wanting to submit to this man. To give into the strength and power he exuded. The lust emanating off of him.
God, she wanted him.
Needed him.
HIs touch. Kisses. Manhood. As terrified as Danika was of him and the danger that cloaked him like a spell, she wanted him with the same intensity. God, what was wrong with her? Danika wanted to escape the dangers that followed this man, yet she couldn't find the strength to stay away. Anytime he was near her, those eyes on her, she crumbled into a puddle beneath his feet.
Shane tsk disappointedly. "I promise you it wouldn't be in your best interest to run from me, little one. I've never met a prey that I haven't been able to take down and you are no different."
Danika understood the underlying message in his words. It rang out loud and clear. All of her instincts assured her that she needed to listen to the man, he wouldn't merely chase her. He'd enthrall it. Love it. He'd luxuriate in the thrill of the hunt. It raged the excitement inside of him, bringing out the animal that Danika could sense simmering beneath the surface of his flesh.
Common sense told her that she needed to stay put, it was the safest course of action for her tonight. She didn't listen to sound reasoning. Petrified by the man standing before her tonight, though it had more to do with the emotions surging up inside of her. Daika knew in that moment if she allowed the man to touch her she'd submit to his demands. She'd gladly allow him to fuck her to his heart's content. She'd thrive in it, encourage him. And each time Shane touched her, taking her body to his whim, she'd be one step closer to achieving his goals. Producing his child.
"Don't," he warned me.
Dania ignored the orders he was shooting out. She couldn't stay there, near this man. So near at hand to the monster that stood before her, that wouldn't have any qualms about what he was doing to her. Although in all actuality it was fear of her own emotions she was running away from, the need that came to life due to his presence. Her need for him. Danika had no idea what was going on inside of her, but anytime but anytime he was near she crumbled to pieces in his wake. Became a puddle of acceptance at his feet.
Spinning around on her heels at this knowledge, feet pounded against the earth as Danika ran away from him with all her speed. She ran from him, from herself. Her thoughts. Emotions. She didn't know why this man evoked this response inside of her when no one else ever had, nor did she care to find out. Danika needed to escape him now, before she gave in.
