Julienne POV

I watched as Julienne's mother beamed with excitement, oblivious to the tension between Julienne and Alex. I felt a pang of sympathy for Julienne, trapped in this web of secrets and lies.

As the dinner came to a close, Julienne's father rose from the table, his approval of Alex evident. I wondered what had transpired between them.

As we left the house, the silence between Julienne and Alex was palpable. I sensed a deep-seated anger and hurt in Julienne, and I knew it wouldn't be long before it boiled over.

The drive home was suffocating, the tension between them almost unbearable. I felt like an intruder, witnessing the breakdown of their relationship.

When we arrived home, Julienne confronted Alex, her emotions raw and exposed. I felt a lump form in my throat as I watched them, their words cutting deep.

The truth spilled out, and I realized that Alex had met Corey Montgomery, the woman Julienne suspected him of seeing. Julienne's pain was evident, and I felt a surge of anger towards Alex for causing her such hurt.

But then, Alex spoke words that made sense, words that were reasonable. He reminded Julienne that they were partners in revenge, and what they did in their personal time didn't matter. I saw the conflict in Julienne's eyes, the struggle to reconcile her feelings.

As Alex walked away, leaving Julienne standing alone, I felt a sense of sadness. Julienne was trapped in a cycle of hurt and anger, and I didn't know how she would escape.

I stood there, frozen, as Alex walked away. His words echoed in my mind, "We are partners in crime, what we do in our personal time outside of this revenge matters only to ourselves." I felt a pang of guilt, knowing that I had been so focused on my own hurt that I hadn't considered his perspective.

But as I thought about it more, I realized that he was right. We were in this together, and what we did outside of our revenge plan shouldn't matter. I took a deep breath and followed him to the bedroom.

"Alex," I said softly, closing the door behind me. He turned to me, his eyes questioning.

"I'm sorry," I said, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. "I know we're in this together, and I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions."

He nodded, a small smile on his face. "I know you're hurt, Julienne. But we can't let our personal feelings get in the way of our goal."

I nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. "You're right. Let's focus on getting revenge on Corey and moving on with our lives."

Alex nodded, and we shared a moment of understanding.

The next few weeks were a blur of planning and scheming. We worked tirelessly to gather evidence and build our case against Corey.

Finally, the day of reckoning arrived. We confronted Corey, our evidence in hand, and watched as she crumbled under the pressure.

It was a sweet victory, and I felt a sense of closure wash over me. We had done it, Alex and I. We had gotten our revenge.

As we walked away from the wreckage of Corey's life, I turned to Alex. "Thank you," I said, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him.

He smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "We make a good team, Julienne."

And in that moment, I knew that I had found something special. Something worth fighting for.
