Chapter 9
Logan’s POV
Logan frowned as he stared at the cowardly man in front of him. The air smelled heavily of piss and sweat; the pig had peed himself. If there was one thing Logan despised, it was cowardice. It was one thing to whatever the fuck you thought you could do. And it was another thing to cower when you were caught. If you wanted to do something, make sure you could bear the consequences.
"Do you know the one thing that I never liked?" he asked rhetorically, staring down at the scraggly man. "It's waiting. I am not a patient man, and you are wearing down on my last nerve. Tell me, who sent you?"
"They'll kill me!" the man cried, shivering on the floor.
Logan held in a disdainful scoff. The fucking idiot knew what he was getting into when he decided to make an enemy out of the Sanders family and decide to get involved in the mess that was the mafia.
"And you think I won't?" Logan asked with a chuckle.
"Please, please, don't. I'm sorry. I have a wife and kids. They are the only people that depend on me," he begged.
The expression on Logan's face grew cold. He knew the man had no wife and kids. Using an excuse like that was cowardly. Logan removed his gun from the holster and shot the man in between his eyes. It was of no use keeping him. He wasn't going to say who had sent him and his voice had been getting on Logan's nerve.
"Clean up," he said to one of the men standing at the door as he walked out of the basement.
Everyone was on edge. The leak had since been controlled but it didn't stop the fact that for a sufficient amount of time, a lot of their confidential information was put at risk. Whoever had done that was waiting for the perfect time to strike.
Logan still thought about the girl. He and Roman had been thorough in all necessary investigations and the only person who could have caused the leak without a hitch was her, as she was the only strange person to have gotten into their home that day.
He had tried to find her, but to no avail. The bartender had never seen her before that night, and there was no one who could even recall that such a girl had been at the bar. All this, the fact that no one knew her and that she was basically unfindable led Logan to believe that his brother was right, she was the leak.
He was still trying to convince himself of the fact that, that was the only reason why he caught himself thinking of her so often. He didn't want to attribute it to the fact that he was still thinking about how perfectly she fit his arms; how her body almost seemed like it was made for her; all of her reactions to him.
Logan wasn't one to be controlled by his emotions for a woman, and it wasn't going to start now. And he didn't care how tight her pussy felt or how perfectly his hands fit over her beautiful titties. If this was the leak, she was going to go down. Just like everyone else who had ever thought it was a great idea to cross Logan Sanders.

Logan opened the door, preparing to cuss out his third in command for being late but who he saw at the door made him go speechless for a second. He gathered his wits quickly and took the girl by her arm.
"Hey—" the girl he had fucked that night, the one he suspected to be the person who had caused a leak in their server, started saying. But his hand on her arm quickly shut her up.
Logan held her firmly and pulled her into the apartment, not giving her any time to say anything. She was brave, he had to give her that. She came here without an army backing her. Which made him wonder why she was here. Was it because she wanted to survey the damage she had caused? Or maybe because she was a glutton for danger and risks? Either way, she was going to regret all she had done.
“What are you doing?” she exclaimed like she was genuinely confused but Logan wasn’t going to play into her game.
“What am I doing?” He laughed. “You are the one who is going to tell me what the fuck you are doing here before I lose my fuse.”
“Let me go, Logan. You’re hurting me,” the woman said, looking up at him and trying to get him to let go of her arm.
The last thing Logan wanted to do was to hurt her—not right away anyways. So he eased his grip on her arm, trying to ignore the surge of lust that had come up when she had said his name.
“I’m hurting you? You would think by now you’d be used to pain.”
Wasn’t she supposed to be some sort of cold-blooded criminal? Why was she showing so much weakness then? He knew his grip on her arm wasn’t that strong so why was she trying to pretend that he was hurting her? Or was it some other type of game? Another facet? Play on her feminine wiles?
When Logan looked down at her, she looked genuinely confused. He almost let her go but he thought of the chaos his empire had gone through of late and the anger returned.
“You have some nerve coming back here,” he said in a dangerous whisper.
The woman frowned. “Left to me, I wouldn’t even be here!” she spat.
Oh. So she was working under someone. And this was part of their little game. Maybe whoever was boss wouldn’t mind losing his little pet. Logan looked down at her and almost laughed at her fierce look.
She looked more like an angry kitten than anything. It would be comical if she hadn’t managed to bring so much chaos into their world. It was a wonder that such a tiny thing could cause so many problems.
“So why did you come? Why did you risk your pretty little neck?” Logan’s tone was soft. It was the tone he used when he was beginning to lose his patience and with the way the girl looked up at him, panicky, he knew that she had picked up on his mood.
“Risk my pretty…Look, I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about! If you don’t want me to tell you why I came here in the first place, then you should just let me leave.”
“Oh, but what fun would that be, princess?” Logan mocked. “You came into the devil’s lair expecting to leave untouched?”
“Devil’s lair…” Her tone was incredulous, and her clear brown eyes confused as she looked up at him. “What are you talking about? I’m not the person you’re looking for!”
“Stop trying to play stupid, princess. The act doesn’t suit you.” Logan was growing annoyed. And not only at the fact that she was fixated on denying what she had clearly done.
But also, at the fact that she was stirring emotions in him, emotions that were foreign to him. Compassion. Logan prided himself on being a cold-blooded fuck, especially when it came to his enemies. But she was different. Even with the magnitude of her crime, he still felt sorry for her.
It got him even more angry.
“Let me go, you big brute! I knew this was a mistake!” she exclaimed. She was trying to pry his hand off her arm. But her hand was too tiny to do any damage. So she started hitting him on his chest with her tiny hands. It amused him more than anything, to see her trying to hurt him.
“Yes, it was a mistake alright. You should never have come here after what you did. You’re not leaving without paying for it.”
The woman stilled in his arms and looked up at him, scared. Logan had thought he would be satisfied by her fear. But looking at that trace of emotion in her eyes pulled at his heartstrings.
He tried to ignore the fact that her hair smelled good and that he wanted to wrap it around his hand and pull her head towards him as he took her from the back. Logan was not ready to accept that his attraction to this little slip of a woman was so strong that he was contemplating going easy on her.
And that maddened him even more.
“I have had enough of your games,” he said tightly. “You’re going to speak right now, or God help me—”
“What’s going on here?”
It was Roman. Logan turned to look at his brother who was staring at him with a confused look on his face. Logan was never impulsive. And he was never moved by anything. If anything, he gave meaning to the word emotionless. So seeing him in such a display over such a tiny woman was confusing.
“Bear,” Logan jerked his head at the man who had gotten in with his brother. “Watch her. Come brother,” he said to Roman.
Roman stared at the girl, recognizing her as the same one they had been looking for. But he followed his brother, knowing that this one was going to sate his curiosity.
“You found her?” Roman asked as soon as they were out of hearing.
“More like she found me!” Logan spat. He never liked being bested. Not being able to find the woman, then the fact that she waltzed into his home like she had not tried to jeopardize his whole empire made him feel weak. And if there was one thing Logan hated, it was feeling weak.
“Good. Less work for us then,” was Roman’s calm response.
Logan stopped his pacing and stared at his brother with narrowed eyes. “That’s all you fucking have to say? Less work for us?”
“Well, what do you want me to say brother? You’re being irrational.”
Logan sighed. “That girl in there bested us. And now she walks in here like she owns the place. And you think I am being irrational.”
“Logan, you are much more levelheaded than this. You looked like a rookie in there. You have much more control than that.”
Roman stared at his brother intently, then a slow smirk appeared on his face. “Is that it? She makes you lose control? Is that what is pissing you off so badly?”
“Shut up, Roman,” Logan spat.
Roman laughed. He never thought he’d see the day his brother would be worked up over a woman. And it didn’t even matter that she was supposedly the one who had hacked into their system. It was amazing seeing the usually controlled Logan fuming.
“Chill, Logan. Being so worked up is not going to solve shit. She looks terrified and also very pissed, so I don’t think she’s going to be telling you anything any time soon. Maybe you should try a different approach.”
“Don’t fucking tell me what to do,” Logan growled, not even staring at his brother. He knew this one was right though. He knew that. But his reaction to that woman had angered him so badly that he needed something to lash out on. And conveniently enough, it was her.
Logan didn’t remember having this strong of a connection with her. He didn’t remember that her skin felt so good to touch and that she smelled so good.
“You might want to go back to your ward,” Roman said playfully when they heard screams coming from the other room. At Logan’s very not playful glower, he lifted his hands in mock surrender.
Logan listened to his brother though and walked back to the living room. The sight that greeted him would have been funny if it wasn’t so fucking infuriating. The little woman kicked Bear in the balls then made a mad dash for the door.
Logan caught her easily and held her arms as she struggled to escape. That was the last thing she could think of doing. Logan wasn’t letting her go anywhere.
“Quit fighting. It’s useless.”
She did not listen to him. Just kept hitting him and squirming. Logan, to his horror, felt himself getting hard as she rubbed against him. And apparently, she felt it as well. She stilled slowly then looked up at him.
“I told you to stop moving,” was Logan’s response to her incredulous look.
She looked down and heat spread across her cheeks. Logan tried not to notice how becoming it was. He was trying hard not to notice a whole lot of things about her. And it was difficult to do so.
“Now, what we are going to do is this, we are going to sit on the couch, and you are going to tell me why you’re here and who the fuck sent you.”
She gave no verbal agreement, but Logan was in no mood to care. He dragged her to the couch, trying his best to be gentle and not hurt her. In as much as his reaction to her infuriated him, he didn’t have to be harsh with her. Con or not, she was still a woman, and a tiny one at that.
He was waiting.
***
About thirty minutes later, Logan was still waiting. He wasn’t patient but he wanted to show this woman that she wasn’t the only one who could play games. He would play into her games for now. And she would say everything without him having to ask her.
She wasn’t even staring at him. She was staring at the wall behind him. That made Logan angry, but he wasn’t going to show it. He didn’t want her to know that she was getting the best of him.
“You’re still not ready to talk,” he said, observing the stubborn tilt to her mouth. And what a beautiful mouth it was.
She turned murderous eyes on Logan, and he chuckled. It was cute that she thought she scared him. Really funny. She made him react in different ways, but fear wasn’t one of the feelings she inspired.
“Looking at me like you want to kill me is not going to change the fact that you’re not leaving from here without telling me everything, kitten.”
“I have nothing to tell you,” she said obstinately; then, she looked away.
Logan had had enough. He took her chin into his hand and lifted it so she was staring at him straight in the eye. His voice was hard when he said, “Don’t defy me. You won’t like the consequences.
“Let me go,” she said with a quiet dignity that impressed him in spite of himself.
“You know what I want.”
“Fine!” she spat. “I came here to tell you that I was pregnant, and you were the father! But you will never see me again after this, you asshole!”
Logan’s eyes widened and his grip on her chin slackened. “What did you just say?” he asked dangerously.
“I’m fucking pregnant!”
She continued talking but Logan’s mind had drifted off. Pregnant. For him. What the fuck?
