Initial Plot (Skylar finding out about the Organisation)

" You're taking it well." Austin had rolled many lines in his head to end the silence, it was driving him crazy. He usually enjoyed introspection, but when he was around Skylar he found himself craving her voice, her insight and her eyes locked on his.

"What is that?" She turned in his direction, her eyes moulding with his for half a second before he turned his gaze back to the road ahead of them. He didn't understand the rush of emotions he felt when that happened. He had spent years trying to forget her after their one night together, they had a connection that he had never felt with anyone before. Yet after the morning cleared he told her his usual goodbye and walked away. He was scared and young, now he wasn't sure if he was either of those things.

"Finding out about my profession." He enlightened. "I thought you'd run for the hills screaming."

"There are hills around here?" She questioned jestingly. Austin chuckled, the sound low and harmonious, it vibrated throughout Skylar's body, waking up every one of her nerve endings.

"You know what I mean," he said.

"I am not scared of you if thats what you're asking," he gazed momentarily at her. "I was caught off guard and I did feel an enormous surge of fear but that fear dissipated. I trust you." Her eyes averted at the mention of those last words.

"I won't do anything to hurt you." He promised.

"Thank you not only for helping me through everything but for telling me," she said.

Austin wondered if she thought less of him if somehow he had turned into a monster in her eyes. "If there is anything else you wish to know, the car ride is long." He offered.

"How did you get into such a business?" Sh questioned off the bat. She had been itching to know and itching to know if her child would get caught up in it. It was dangerous, although these people managed to make homicide legal. Her mind ran to the corpse she had just autopsied.

Austin smirked covertly. It didn't take her long to utilize the opportunity. "My mother had gotten married and not long had her second baby, I was now an outsider imposing on someone else's life. I had decided that I was already indebted to James enough. He gave me his name, cleaned up the mess that was my mother's life, so I remember leaving his house. The plan was, find a job and make my own life."

"You have another sibling?" This was news to Skylar.

"A sister. She didn't think me a bastard, unlike her brother. She wouldn't dare fall asleep unless I read to her every night. She couldn't stop crying when I left home, I have to admit that was my only regret."

"How old were you?" Skylar questioned with pure interest, it stunned her that he was always willful and it pained her that he felt so alone.

"Fourteen." His voice cracked with laughter.

"What happened?" Skylar found it hard to imagine a boy so young out and about on his own.

"Well if it's not obvious, there isn't much job opportunities for a fourteen-year-old, with not much of an education. I remembered how dirty the streets made me feel, starving, ready and accepting death."

Skylar felt the pain in her chest. She would never have thought things were that hard for him.

"I was lucky. Tobias Lynne found me and took me in. It was in his active days, he was a hell of an agent."

"That's Thomas' father?" Skylar questioned, fighting the knot in her stomach. She wanted to reach out and hug him, instead her fingers reached out to enclose his cold fingers resting on his lap. Austin wasn't sure how to react. He never had any emotional contact, it was foreign to him.

"It was, he took me to his home. I always interested in dangerous chemicals. Science was always my forte, so he sent me back to school and took care of me. I hadn't met Thomas until he left college to come back home. My half-brother saw me as a disease but Thomas saw me as a brother. Soon enough we were both recruited for the company, I got my life together and then I went back to see my mother."

"I am sorry the journey was difficult." Her voice was small.

"I am not. I appreciate it all so much more and I have my own family." He indulged.

"Mr. Cyner seems to really care for you." She tried to map his reaction.

"He is a kind man, but I could never impose on him. He didn't seem right. Any more questions?" he needed to disperse the clouds of yesterday.

"Ahh, yes actually. The door in your study."

"What about it?" he smirked, she was a curious hellion.

"Why is it locked? I did try to pick the lock but Abigail found me and ushered me out."

"You tried to do what?" His interest was piqued. Skylar had the urge to slap herself, how smart was she to admit to trespassing on his private space.

"Nothing. I was just exploring but Abigail seemed scared to see me lurking."

"Where did you learn to pick a lock?" He couldn't stop himself from smiling. He felt proud of his rebel wife.

Skylar decided to submit. "My father wanted to pass on his knowledge."

"Interesting." Austin mouthed in fascination. "What else do you know?"

"Uhh, I know how to use a gun, but it's been years since I fired one." Austin gasped playfully. "Maybe you're the dangerous one."

She giggled. "You're straying. What's behind the door?"

"It's my lab. I have a collection of very dangerous and exotic poisons. I can show it to you." he offered.

"Oh, that's why Abigail was terrified to let me in there." Skylar assumed.

"You are the only one who knows what's behind there. Abigail just knows I am particular about my personal space." He smiled reassuringly.

"Would you have been tempted to murder me if I had violated your privacy?" She noted his confused expression, she rolled her eyes playfully. "Figuratively speaking."

"You're asking if I would have been mad at you?" he clarified and she nodded.

"No, I would have been impressed." He answered truthfully. She smiled brightly at him then and he silently wished that he alone had that effect on her. He wanted to make her happy.
