Chapter 88 Sending “my girlfriend” off on her date
Chapter 88: Sending “My Girlfriend” Off on Her Date.
Allan had tried calling Golden multiple times but she wasn't picking up his calls so he decided to go into the house and wait for her.
He met Varney just as he entered the foyer and he asked him to wait in the living room for her.
While he sat and waited for Golden, he could feel the atmosphere drop a certain degree, and it was colder than usual.
It felt like Varney would go for his head anytime soon. Although he had never really had any personal encounter with Varney in person,
He felt as though Varney didn't like him. Something in his head told him the misunderstanding he had with Golden while she was in Africa was the reason.
Golden did mention that her brother had pulled down the video. He felt maybe that could be the reason for the awkward silence between them.
Just as the silence was getting more unsettling and Allan was pulling his collar for the umpteenth time,
He saw Fab descend the stairs in what looked like a house coat. He was momentarily stunned and his eyes widened briefly.
Varney had seen Allan's brief reaction before he adjusted and returned to normal.
He followed his gaze and saw Fab dressed in a house coat and immediately caught on.
He smiled and nodded approvingly. He enjoyed seeing the look on Allan's face even if it was just for a moment.
Allan wouldn't have been surprised to see Alex in the Nixon Estate. In fact, it would've be weird not to.
Seeing Fab was a great shock. He looked like he had just gotten out of bed.
Something didn't feel right. Allan felt threatened seeing Fab looking all lazy and comfortable coming down the stairs.
He tried to control his emotions and pretend that all was fine, but deep within he wasn't.
Were Golden and Fab really dating? That would explain why Fab was at her house, dressed so casually and coming down the stairs.
He had helped his mother clean the estate for a while and he was quite familiar with the structure.
He was aware that rooms on the top floor were for close family and that the guest bedrooms were downstairs at the West Wing of the house.
His heart throbbed and he cleaned the invisible sweat from his forehead.
“Hey man, it's good to see you under different circumstances.” Fab said as he stretched his hand out for a handshake.
Allan shook Fab's hand masking his turmoil perfectly. “Hello Fab”.
“Would you like a glass of whiskey while you wait?” Fab said as he went to the mini bar to pour himself a drink.
Allan watched Fab play the perfect host, while Varney said nothing, leaving Fab to take the lead.
“No man I'm good, thanks.” He said.
“I wouldn't mind a glass of brandy” Varney said, setting his tab down and rather enjoying Allan's discomfort.
Fab prepared a glass for Varney and after handing it over, he sat down and faced Allan.
“I heard you are taking my girl out on a date. It's uncool to ask another guy's girl out don't you think?”
Allan understood what was happening and wasn't going to let Fab rattle him.
He relaxed into the sofa finally letting go of the unease he had been feeling.
“Well technically Golden asked me out this evening. I'm only here to pick her up.” He replied with a smirk.
“Look man, I would be straightforward with you. You are not exactly my favorite person in the world.
I also don't appreciate the fact that you are trying to date my girl behind my back.
However I will respect Gigi's wishes. You've hurt her twice now. There would not be a third time.” Fab said with a warning.
“I would be damned if I let you hurt her a third time. Personally, I don't think you are a bad guy,
In fact I think you are pretty cool, but you need to understand that Golden comes first.
Hurt her again and I would be your worst nightmare.” Fab said, his voice dropping an octave lower.
Allan looked at Varney. “What he said.” Varney said, giving Allan a dangerous look before lifting his glass and taking a sip of his brandy.
Allan was surprised by Fab's aura. He had always seen him as the nerdy, lackadaisical guy.
This was the first time he was seeing this side of Fab, and somehow he knew that he was serious.
Allan acknowledged Fab's dominance at that point and gave a curt nod.
Fab smiled immediately, transforming back into his jovial self. “Now are you ready for that drink?”
“Sure, a shot of whiskey would do just fine.” Allan said with a light chuckle, finally relaxing for the first time since he got to the estate.
Alex and Golden had been at the top of the stairs listening to the conversation going on downstairs.
Alex was quite impressed with how Fab handled the situation with maturity.
Golden felt touched. Varney hadn't really given Allan a tough time, and Fab diffused a tensed atmosphere while still looking out for her.
She felt a sense of peace. She knew that regardless of whatever happened in the future, she would be fine.
By the time they got downstairs, the guys were cool and even laughing.
Allan stood up when Golden approached and gave her a side hug and the peck on the cheek.
“Are you ready to go?” He asked, downing his drink.
“Yeah sure. Just a minute.” Golden hugged Varney, then Alex, and finally Fab. “Thank you” she whispered to him before releasing him.
“Have her home before midnight.”
Allan gave a two finger salute and led Golden out the door.
Allan and Golden rode off into the night. He had planned something different for their date.
He wanted to show Golden the real him so he decided to take her on a trip.
His first stop was the neighborhood where he was born, and where he lived till he was 12.
“Where are we Allan?” Golden asked as she came down from the bike and looked around.
“This is the where I lived till I was 12” he said. “Gigi, I want to show you all of me.
I'm really serious about you and I want you to know the real me.”
He took her hands and they walked towards the house he used to live in. There were a few people on the street and no one paid any attention to them.
Allan felt a sense of nostalgia as he walked down the street. Golden felt the shift in his demeanor and held his hand tighter.
They didn't spend a lot of time there and got on the bike to their next stop.
Golden noticed that this neighborhood was worse than the one that they were coming from.
Something told her that this neighborhood was a huge part of Allan's story.
She got down and quietly followed Allan to the front of a door.
He paused for a minute before opening the door and they both stepped into the darkness.
