Chapter 169 Choosing peace
Chapter 169: Choosing Peace
Golden and Xander had just finished having a bath together and were preparing to go to bed.
Just before they got on the bed, she nudged him with her shoulders.
“What is it Princess?” he asked.
“Don't let the sun go down on your anger. Go and talk to her.”Golden pleaded.
“She hurt you. Shouldn't you be angry at her?” he asked.
“I know she did, but something good did come out of it. I got to know you. Besides, she's your sister. The love for a person extends to the crow on their roof. So please for my sake, go talk to her.” she said with puppy-dog eye.
Xander pulled Gigi in for a kiss. “Gosh I love you so much. You can sleep if you are tired, I'll join you as soon as I'm done.”
He left after that. Xander couldn't help thinking about what she had said. “the love for a person extends to the crow on their roof.”
Even though Lindsay had hurt her, just because she was his sister, she was ready to let go. She had given him another reason to love her more.
Xander got to Lindsay's door and knocked before entering.
“Go away Alex, I don't want to talk to you.” she said, not bothering to look at him.
He ignored her and went to sit on the bean bag beside her bed.
“I'm sorry I scolded you in front of Golden, I shouldn't have that. Can you forgive me?” he said in a soft voice.
“Let me think about it.” she said, still not looking at him.
“Okay that's fine. I however need you to know something. What you did was wrong Lin, and I'm not saying it because of Gigi.
You shouldn't have been involved with Allan when you knew he was with someone else. That was wrong.” he said, not scolding but stating.
“But he was mine first. Golden was the one that intruded in what we could have had.” she said painfully.
“Listen Lin,” he said urging her to face him. “You are a very beautiful woman, inside and out, and you also have a crown to prove it.
You deserve a guy who would see your inner and outer beauty. A guy who's not afraid to declare his love for you.” he paused and gently held her hand.
“I know you love Allan, but a guy who would string two ladies along knowing fully well they both love him is not worthy of being with you.
You should be the center of his world, not the other woman. I wouldn't have approved of the relationship knowing fully well he hurt another woman to be with you.”
“I still love him though.” she said with a crack in her voice. “I went to LA thinking I could forget him but I want him even more.”
“He doesn't want you Lin. As much as I hate to say this, but if he wanted you, he would have gotten together with you after Golden broke up with him but he didn't.
He is still pining for her, hoping they would get back together. I know it's hard, but you have got to let go.”
“It's not fair Alex. Why does she get Allan's love, and still get yours while I don't get any? He should have been mine, MINE!” Lindsay said in a typical I always get what I want voice.
“Pull yourself together Lindsay!” Xander said, letting a little authority into his voice. “Life isn't always fair and you will not always get what you want.
“I have tried to reason with you, but if you insist on being nonchalant then don't be mad at how I react.”
Lindsay bit her lips and clenched her fist in her blanket.
“I need to make one thing clear to you, Golden is my girlfriend and I love her with every fiber of my being. I will not tolerate any form of disrespect towards her.
You may choose to like her or not, but if you truly love me, you will not hurt her.” he said with a warning.
Xander understood Lindsay's personality the most. She was a very sweet and charming lady, but she had been spoiled from childhood. She would do whatever she could to get what she wanted.
Their mum had sent her to live with him because he was the only one that could curtail her excesses.
“What do you even see in her anyways? She isn't even your type?” she asked with a little disdain.
Xander dismissed her tone and said. “I may have had a type in the past. The insanely beautiful, model-like kind of ladies.
But then I was young and foolish. You know why I fell for Golden? I fell in love with her character. She's intentional, she's kind, she's intelligent and she loves deeply.
For someone with the amount of wealth that she has, she is humble and treats people well.” Xander said with deep emotions.
“Now can you say same of any of the ladies I have dated in the past? Like I said, I was young and foolish and just went with the flow and followed the ladies in our social circle.
But Golden is different. She may belong to the same social circle, but she has a different mindset from most ladies in our circle.”
Xander stood up and patted Lindsay on the shoulder. “Sleep well Lin”. He turned around and left. He exhaled, tension leaving his shoulders as he went back to his room.
He returned to the room to meet Golden reading on her tab.
“Are you guys good now?” she asked.
“Yeah. We had a talk and we are good.” he said joining her on the bed.
“That's good. Now you are going to have a good night rest.” Golden said and snuggled with Xander.
The following day, Lindsay made herself scarce around the house. She wasn't ready to face Golden.
She kept her distance till Golden finally left on Monday. Golden understood the situation and didn't try to push.
She wasn't Lindsay's favorite person at the moment because somehow Lindsay had it stuck in her head that she was the reason that she and Allan weren't together.
She was going to give Lindsay time and if they still didn't get along, then Golden was prepared to love her from afar for Xander's sake.
