Chapter 106: The Girl He Won't Claim
Allan read the message again. Did Golden know something? Did she see them?
“Nah! That's impossible. She was in Chinatown. There's no way she would have known what happened at OCU.” He said to himself.
Golden: “Allan, are you still there ?”
Allan didn't know how to respond so he didn't. He went offline and the message didn't get the double blue ticks.
He dropped his phone and took a deep breath. Turned off the light and went straight to bed.
He was doing it again. He was shutting off. Whenever he didn't know how to handle a situation, he shut off his mind.
When Golden realized that her message didn't deliver, she decided to go downstairs for a late night snack.
Getting to the kitchen, she met Fab sitting by the kitchen island, eating some ice cream.
“Couldn't sleep huh?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Just woke up not long ago. How about you?” Golden asked as she helped herself to some ice cream from the fridge.
“Been on the phone with Bri. Got hungry and decided to come for a snack.”
“Can I ask you something?” Golden said as she settled in the seat opposite Fab.
“Sure babe. What's up?”
“Is it normal for a guy who's in a relationship to be chummy with another lady?”
“Gigi what's really going on?” Fab asked, dropping his spoon and putting his full attention on Golden.
He understood her question and knew why she was asking, but he wanted her to come out and plainly say what's on her mind.
He wasn't going to force her, but he felt talking about it might help her feel better.
Golden hesitated for a minute before sliding her phone over to Fab. She really needed to talk to someone and Fab was her safest bet.
Fab went through the pictures on Golden's phone with a stoic expression, not giving anything away.
He got to the video and clicked on it. He carefully watched it and murdered Allan in his heart a million times.
Although Allan hadn't really done anything wrong, that in itself was wrong.
He couldn't understand the guy. He had worked hard to win Golden over and now he was nonchalant about their relationship.
His casualness was going to cost him his relationship if he didn't take time.
As for Linda, Fab felt there was something wrong with her. She was behaving like a lunatic.
Golden must have really done something terrible to her in her previous life for Linda to cling to her like this.
When Fab heard Linda's laughter at the end of the video, he concluded that she was a complete psycho.
“You know, I went to see Rema at the hospital the other day. I stepped out to receive a call and when I was about to come back in, I heard him and Allan talking.
I didn't mean to eavesdrop, I wanted to give them some privacy. Rema asked Allan if we were dating and he didn't say anything. He maneuvered his way around the question without giving a definite answer.
In the video you just watched, the waiter called Lindsay his girlfriend and he didn't say anything either to deny or accept it.
Now it seems like they are dating to others and somehow I have become the third wheel.”
“Gigi?” Fab said softly with concern in his voice.
“No it's fine, I'm good.” Golden said with a smile. “Linda might be a bitch, but her psycho move has got me thinking.”
“That's why I asked if it's okay for a guy to be chummy with another girl even though he's in a relationship.
Am I overthinking things? Is this normal guy behaviour? I don't want to jump to conclusions and at the same time, I don't want to be made a fool of.”
“Look Gigi you are not overthinking anything. And it's totally normal for you to want your boyfriend to acknowledge you before his friends and family.
I really don't know what Allan is thinking. I don't understand why he wouldn't just admit that you guys are dating.”
Fab paused to get some more ice cream. “As for being chummy with other girls, most guys don't see it that way.
They may have other girls around them that they are all playful with but their hearts remain with their girl.
I think if it bothers you so much, you should talk to him about it.
Sometimes guys don't think things through and don't even realize that their actions are hurting their girl.
But then talking about it and telling him how you feel should help fix the problem most especially if he really loves you.”
Golden paused to take in everything Fab was saying. “Well I know he likes me, but I'm not sure if he loves me yet.” Golden said almost in a whisper.
Chinatown
The Chen's residence was bustling with activities. It was finally the wedding day between Chen and Rosalie.
The kids were running everywhere and Alex was about to go crazy trying to round them up so they could head out to the hotel.
They arrived at the hotel and immediately went to get their makeup and hair done.
The guests had already arrived and were seated. The groom and his groomsmen were already standing by the priest and Chen waited anxiously for his bride.
Chen heard his brothers teasing him from their seats.
“Chill out man, your bride will be out soon.” One said.
“Not the first time and you are still not able to get it together.” Lily his sister said with a chuckle.
Just then, the wedding song began to play and everyone rose to usher in the bride.
Sunhe and Xixi, Lily's twin daughters skipped in happily, throwing their flower petals happily and that made everyone present laugh.
The bridesmaids soon followed before the bride finally appeared with her grandma walking her down the aisle.
Chen had tears in his eyes seeing Rosalie walk towards him. About 12 years ago, he lost the love of his life.
Now 12 years later, life was giving him a second chance. He was about to marry his soulmate and be a dad again.
