Chapter 52 Phone Call
Mariko's POV
I made love to Maddie for the entire evening. She was exhausted this morning, but she was willing to work. I had a meeting coming up soon and I had prepared everything yesterday. The meeting would be about the finance of the company, not that Sternpoint is lacking. It is doing great, but to also see what bonuses we can give to all the employees around the globe that fall under Sternpoint. There is one more partner that would like to be onboard but I don't know about it because Jeffrey, one of the board members, will be informing us about them.
Mark, who is the former CEO of Sternpoint and also Lana's deceased father...my friend, would be extremely proud of Lana and how she had turned this company to be better. We might have helped her but everything else was because of her. She has her ideas and she has an eye to fix some things. Something that Mark didn't really have. The daycare centre on the floor below is still being renovated.
My phone rang and I reached for it on my desk. It was Amber. I hope that everything is okay with Bella. I answered, "Amber, is everything okay?" I asked.
"Yes, Bella just wanted to call you and speak to you," she said. I smiled because that was Bella.
"Well, hand the phone over to her," I replied.
"Daddy, mommy and I are going to the park and then we are going to have some ice cream," she said excitedly.
"Just don't have too much ice cream, not too many sweet things for you," I said.
"I miss you and I wish that you and Maddie were here," she said and I chuckled softly.
"Next time, my little princess," I said.
There was a knock on my door, "Meeting is starting," Reggie said as he stood in the doorway for a second and then he left.
"I have to go. I hope that you have a lot of fun with mommy. Be a good girl. I love you," I said.
"I love you too, daddy," she replied and I hung up with a smile. Bella had my heart, she is my everything.
I gathered everything that I needed for the meeting, grabbed my phone and headed to the boardroom. When I got to the boardroom, everyone was already seated. I took a seat at the head of the table and greeted everyone.
The finance part was discussed and then it was time for Jeffery to inform us about the new partners that he is thinking of getting on board. "So, this company is a bit well known but the CEO would like to work with Sternpoint, their brand, in cars and also to make the cars be part of the Sternpoint global companies. They only have one branch and I think that they are pretty good. A father and son run the company. The company goes by the name of Leonard Corporate," I didn't know if I heard that correctly.
"Sorry, what?" I asked. I needed to make sure.
"Leonard Corporate wants to be our partner too-"
"No, they are not welcome to be our partner. We will never be in partnership with them. Do you understand?" I said sternly, holding his gaze. He swallowed, not knowing what to say or do. "Do. You. Understand?" I spelled it out for him slowly.
"Yes, sir," he said softly.
"I agree with Mariko, Leonard Corporate has assh^les and we know better than to work with them. So tell them that we will never be interested in them. If there is nothing else, then this meeting is over," Reggie chimed in.
Ash and his father had the nerve to do this. Is this their way to get back at Maddie and I? First Bradley and now this. The meeting ended and I gathered my things and I walked out of the boardroom with Reggie.
"I don't know what they are up to...if they think that they can achieve anything," I said through clenched teeth as we walked in step.
"I know, they are really bad," Reggie replied. We came to a stop in front of my office. "I'm getting coffee, I'm tired."
"I can't have much coffee because- I am taking a break from coffee," I said. I nearly told him about the pregnancy which we are keeping private for now.
"All the best, you are going to need it for the day ahead," he smiled.
"Thank you for stepping up in that meeting when it came to the Leonard's. I don't know what I would do if I ever saw them again. They were a bad influence on Bradley and now I'm happy that he is going to London. He will be resigning from Leonard Corporate, I am happy about that," I said.
"That is great to hear. I wish nothing but the best for him. He can be a good kid when he wants to be. You have been a great father to him, so don't blame yourself for anything bad," he stated.
"I will remember that. I just want everyone to be happy and healthy. That is all that I want."
"I know you do. Your heart is always kind and that is what I love about you," he patted me on the shoulder and then he walked away and I entered my office.
I definitely need coffee due to the amount of s^x that Maddie and I had last night. As I placed my things on the desk, I noticed that I had a couple of phone calls from a number, my phone was on silent due to the meeting. "Are you busy?" I looked up and Maddie entered my office, closing the door and locking it. She smiled at me seductively.
Luckily, the glass was opaque. I placed my phone on the desk, returning her smile, and I knew what this meant.
Maddie's POV
I wanted Mariko. I was turned on. I wanted to be f^cked. He looked at me as I walked closer to him. He was standing behind his desk. Luckily, I was dressed in a pencil skirt for easy access. It was like he had awakened this desire inside of me. "I just got done with the meeting, so you have my full attention," he smirked as I rounded his desk and stood in front of him.
I placed my hands on his chest and he rested his hands on my waist. "I want to be f^cked," I stated. I looked at his desk and I reached out to it. "Right here," I placed my hand on the desk.
"Your wish is my command," he replied, and he turned me around so that my back was pressed against him. His hands roamed my belly, until they cupped my breasts. He leaned in, his breath against my ear. I was wet and ready. I didn't want to wait.
"A quickie because I have work to get back to, so take me now," I breathed. His hands moved to the end of my pencil skirt, lifting it up.
"No panties?" he asked.
"Surprise," I replied with a smile.
He bent me over and my hands rested on the desk and I heard him undoing his pants. I felt the tip of his length at my entrance and then he slowly entered me. We both gasped in unison as he filled me up to the hilt. He started pounding into me at a fast pace because it was a quickie.
"You have to be quiet," he stated through breaths.
I bit my bottom lip, trying to stop my moans. I could feel my org^sm building up. I wished that it could last long but it has to be quick. By surprise, I parted my lips and moaned, his hand covered my mouth muffling my moans as I org^sm. Mariko followed after me, filling me with his fluids. I was in a euphoric state as Mariko held me up, my knees felt weak. Our breaths were the only sounds in the office. He pulled out of me.
"Are you okay?" he asked as I stood up straight, making sure that I had balance.
"I'm fine," I replied, my heart was still beating at a rapid pace. I reached to take a tissue from Mariko's desk and I cleaned myself up as he zipped up his pants.
"This person keeps on calling me," he said as he took his phone from the desk as I discarded the tissue in the trashcan. I smoothed my skirt down.
"Mariko Donovan," he said as he held his phone against his ear. "What? Are you sure that..." I watched him as his whole facial expression changed. "I will be right there," he hung up and he grabbed his car keys, and checked for something else he might forget. He seemed to be in a rush.
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"I can't talk now," he walked around his desk.
"Mariko," I was concerned. He looked shattered and afraid.
"Amber and Bella are in the hospital," he said, and then he left.
I stood in my spot just absorbing what he had just told me. What the hell happened?
