Chapter 141 Messy Life
Chapter 141 Messy Life
Mariko's POV
I'm on my way to see Amber. To talk some sense into her and I don't even know if she will listen to me. I will be starting work tomorrow, so I will be making the most of the day with my kids after I have seen Amber. I left home with the twins sleeping. We just got them down because they were restless. I had to manage Bella and made sure that Angel was okay too, but Rosie was there to tend to Bella, who wanted my attention.
As I pulled up into the driveway to my old house that I used to share with Amber. I felt the exhaustion of taking care of the kids. I guess having twins just added to that. Bella was more than enough for me, but my twins are precious, yet they can keep us out of sleep because it's double.
I got out of my car, the sun burning into my skin. It was a hot day, but it didn't help with how tired I am. I just wanted to have a decent sleep. I walked up the steps and knocked on the door. Her car was parked in the driveway so she should be home. I just hope that she isn't having a hangover or is busy drinking.
I knocked again, and then she opened the door, "Mariko," she stated, holding a glass of Whiskey in her hand, she was in a floral night gown, her blonde hair a disheveled mess. Her mascara smudged under her eyes. "Are the kids okay?" she asked.
"They are fine, but I came here to talk to you," I said.
"If it's about taking Bella back, forget about it. You can keep her," she walked further into the house and I stepped inside, closing the door behind me. She went into the lounge and I followed after her.
"Bella is your daughter and drinking will not get you anywhere," I stated as she took a seat on the sofa. I sat across from her on a chair that was not even at the dinner table. That is when I inspected the lounge, there was more alcohol around, whiskey and champagne glasses stood around, and the lounge was partially messy. "You had a party again," I said as I looked at her again.
"What does it matter to you? You wanted Bella and I got my wish. Move on," she then reached for a box and took out a cigarette. My blood boiled as I stood and rushed to her side as I snatched the cigarette out of her hand. "Hey!"
"This is what you want to do, mess up your life and for what?" I snapped at her as I crumbled the cigarette up and threw it in a black bag of dirt. I'm assuming she tried to clean the lounge.
"This is my life, Mariko. You do not get to tell me what I should do. I'm living my best life," she hissed, gulping the last of her whiskey down before slamming it onto the coffee table. I stood in front of her, both of my hands resting on my hips.
I shook my head in disappointment, "You are a disappointment to your kids. You have no idea how much this affects them. Bradley is old enough to know all this, and he is affected because you are his mother. You made him feel like sh^t all those years thinking that he was the one causing you so much unhappiness. I regret ever being with you because our kids suffer," I hissed.
"Maybe we should've been more careful when we had s^x. They wouldn't be here if it weren't for our unprotected s^x," she snarled as she stood up.
"You are so unbelievable. You just don't care at all. I hope that Bella and Bradley never see you again because you will only hurt them more than you are. Bella may be young, but you are still her mother."
"What about Maddie? She is better than I will ever be. She cares more for Bella than I ever can. You chose a good wife, and I want you to go back to her and your little family," she said, but her eyes glazed over as she stared at me. But then the tears streamed down her face. "I don't know what to do. I can't fill this void by being empty inside," she said between sobs. "Its like I can't breathe in my own home and all I can try to do is have parties. Bradley is what ruined me, Mariko. I never wanted the life that I had with you, and I was forced to stay because I was thinking about him. I resent him," she wiped her tears with the back of her hands and that just broke my heart because my son didn't deserve all the treatment he got even as an adult and to still be the reason that she is partying and living life the way that she is.
"You are pathetic. I hope you come to your senses soon. You cannot blame him for how you felt or that he messed up your life. I'm done talking to you," I said, and then I walked out.
I was feeling a mix of anger and hurt over everything that she said and what she was doing to herself. I know that I'm doing this for Bradley, but perhaps her parents can talk to her or get her help, because I cannot be the one to do this anymore. We would just continue to fight, and we would get nowhere to solve anything and that was how our marriage ended up being. Full of fights.
Now, I will see to my own little family and help Maddie with the kids, be in a peaceful home that is filled with love and joy, not fights and coldness.
Maddie's POV
Mariko had to go see Amber because of her lifestyle for Bradley. Mariko and I had a long night because of the twins and I just wanted to sleep. I was a hot mess wearing a t-shirt that was covered in baby vomit and shorts with my hair tied up in a messy bun. I wanted to get into a shower, but then Marielle started to cry.
"Maddie! Can you draw my dresses with me, please?" Bella jumped in excitement as she held a page out to me with a pencil. I moved to Marielle's crib.
"I can't do that now," I said as I bent over the crib and took my baby out.
"Okay," she sounded disappointed, but she lingered as I held Marielle and then Mikayla started crying. "I can help," she said as she ran to Mikayla’s side in that crib. Bella stood on her toes, trying to reach for Mikayla but she couldn't. "Everything will be okay," she tried soothing the baby.
I sighed, "Bella, please just ask Rosie to help me," I said as I moved to the other crib, and I stroked Mikayla's cheek. My eyes filled up with tears, I just can't do this right now. I'm not good enough for this role as a mother. I bounced Marielle in my arm just hoping that Mikayla's cries wouldn't affect Marielle too.
"You needed me?" Rosie asked. She looked at me with huge eyes as I wiped my tears away, and she went to the crib to get Mikayla. She understood the assignment. But I just felt the same.
Mikayla was quiet now. "I'm sorry to disturb you like this. It's just..."
"Too much," she stated. "You will be just fine. It can be overwhelming with twins, but you have me and Mariko. Soon you will be back at work, and then it's finding another nanny because I won't be able to take care of three all by myself." she gave me a sympathetic smile.
"Thanks, Rosie. I just don't know if I'm fit to be a mother to twins. I'm tired, and I'm sure Mariko is too. He starts work tomorrow and I can see the exclusion. He says nothing...what if this affects us? What if he walks away from all of this, leaving me with the twins because it's too much to handle?" tears blurred my vision again.
"Maddie, that will never happen. He loves you so much, and he knows how to do things because he has experience. Why don't you take a nap and I will keep an eye on these precious babies," she smiled.
I returned the smile as I placed Marielle in the crib as she remained awake, her hands reaching out in the air for nothing in particular. I went to the bathroom and took the shower that I needed. Rosie had reminded me to get another nanny and that is something that Mariko and I needed to talk about. But there is also another thing that I need to talk about...and that is to tie my tubes so that I won't fall pregnant in the future again.
