Chapter 90
"Are all of you here?" With a stiff face, the Priestess asked.
"Crystal isn't here... Does she get a pass?" One of the things the girl said.
"Everyone has to do this job, even Crystal..." The Priestess answered seriously and opened the book in front of her. "But let's start with the first lesson."
But one of the participants raised her hand again before the Priestess could even start. "Last night, the curse prince said he didn't want to be part of the prophecy. So, I'm just wondering why he's here."
Everyone looks at Xavier, who is sitting next to Lyca, because of these questions.
"Ha Ha Ha! Do you really need to ask that? The curse prince is Princess Lyca's dog, so he is always with his owner."
Xavier stays put in his seat because he doesn't want to let the comments get to him. But not Lyca. She glared at the girls and said, "I don't care what you think!" "He comes from a noble family, so none of you can be his queen... Huh! A sad little witch will never be enough to keep him company."
"-Enough! As someone who wants to become a priest, I don't let this kind of talk happen. Always remember that this job is a blessing from God, which is why you need a lot of patience and understanding."
No one spoke up because no one wanted to go against what the Priestess said.
[When Crystal looks out the door, sweaty and with her hair in a mess, the tension goes up.]
"And as a Priestess, don't let your people see you acting in a shameful way," the Priestess glares at Crystal as her eyes light up.
"Pardon me, my Priestess, but I ran into some trouble on my way here..." Crystal bowed as she spoke.
"Go inside! The next time, no one can be late!" The Priestess yelled loudly.
When Xavier and Lyca smell Kai on Crystal, they look at each other. But they didn't care, because they both knew what was going on between them. But they also know that Kai will have to squeeze through a hole the size of a needle if they decide to stay together.
When the Priestess was done with the lesson, it was time for lunch, so she turned to Crystal as she always did.
"Come along...
Crystal got up quickly and went after the Priestess.
You should talk to Kai, I think..." Lyca uttered. They were on their way to the dining room.
"Yeah, I guess I should do that, since the Priestess won't just stand there and watch them." And while we're talking about Kai, he and Jaxson are coming into the dining room. So Lyca and Xavier went up to them right away and pulled them into a corner.
"You're in trouble, brother!" Right away, Xavier spoke in a whisper.
"Trouble? Why? What did I do?" Kai asked, looking from Lyca to Xavier and feeling confused.
"Ha Ha Ha! Do you think you can trick us, Kai? Crystal can smell you everywhere!" Lyca was rude.
"Not what you might think... Crystal and I met earlier, but as usual, she turned me down. Then her grandmother showed up..."
"Kai then dragged Crystal into a corner to hide...
Then, one thing after another happens!" Kai's excuse, Jaxson said. In his eyes, the sneer was clear as day.
"I don't dislike you or Crystal...
I'm glad that a woman has touched your heart, though. I want you to be careful, though. We are in the land of witches, as you know, and this city is different from Greyfield and Nightingale Kingdom. Crystal, in particular, is always in danger. She is the Priestess's heir, and the other races expect her to rule over them "Xavier made a thoughtful comment.
Then they looked at the person coming toward them. The Priestess was there with Crystal by her side, then Madison and Lyca's grandmother.
"It looks like I'm about to start training..." Lyca uttered when she saw her grandmother and aunt walking toward their table.
"Want me to come with you?" Xavier asked.
She shook her head quickly. "Have you forgotten what your grandmother said that night? Because it's one-on-one training, no one else can come..."
"Come along..."
Xavier took Lyca's hand and nodded before letting go. "Be careful; I'll be waiting for you-"
"No! You're not waiting for her like a kind husband would. I'm taking you with me, "Madison rolled her eyes as she patted Xavier on the shoulder.
Right away, Lyca frowned. "Why? Where do you plan to take him?"
"Your king and his friend are safe with me, so don't worry, my dear niece. I just want to tell them how to fight witches if they ever have to." With a big smile on her face, Madison spoke in a whisper.
"—Lyca, you don't need to worry about those kids, so let's go... Now, the only thing we lack is time. So, we can't waste even a single second." After what she said, Grandma turned around and started to walk.
Even though Lyca is scared, she has no choice but to walk and follow her grandmother. The boys got up to follow Madison, who was walking in the opposite direction.
"What will Aunt Madison teach, Grandma? The guys can't perform miracles..." Lyca asked out of worry.
Grandma looked at Lyca, shook her head, and looked away. "I can't believe your mom never tells you about us... If she does, you'll know that your aunt is good at many things, including fighting with her hands..."
"Hahaha, Grandma, have you forgotten that those three people aren't like other people? They can't do magic, but they are very strong and fast."
"Have you forgotten, my dear grandchild? Strengths and speed can't be changed just by a witch snapping her fingers... They will learn how to fight witches from your aunt... So, put them out of your mind and concentrate on your training." Then, at the end of the hall, Grandma opened the door.
"What's this place called?" Lyca's eyes get very big as she looks at the huge land.
"As soon as we step into this magical place, you can't give up... You will do what I say without making a fuss. Do you understand?"
Even though Lyca was scared of her grandmother's cold look, she still managed to nod.
"Good. Then let's go into the time room..."
"I can do it... Since I made up my mind to bring my mother's soul, I can't go back... I need to get stronger, so I need to grow and move forward! As Lyca walked into the room, she spoke to herself.
