Chapter 92

Chapter 92
Olivia's POV

“Why don’t you go wait for me in your room? I’ll finish my makeup and come get you,” Zoya said, glancing at me with concern through the mirror.

“Are you dismissing me?” I teased, placing a hand dramatically over my chest.

A soft laugh escaped her. “No. You just look tired, and we’re about to start shooting.”

“Okay,” I sighed, pretending to surrender. “But don’t take too long. You already look beautiful.”

I winked at her, and she immediately looked away, trying to hide the blush creeping across her cheeks.

“Hey, what’s gotten into you?” she muttered, biting back a smile. “Why are you suddenly so flirty?”

Because I couldn’t stop myself anymore.

Because every time I looked at her, it felt like my chest forgot how to breathe properly.

I forced myself to walk toward my dressing room before I said something reckless. The second the door closed behind me, the silence settled heavily around me. I dropped onto the couch and leaned my head back, closing my eyes.

Ever since Zoya entered my life, it felt like everything I thought I knew about myself had started unraveling.

I used to think I was happy. I had everything people were supposed to want—fame, success, stability, love. My life looked perfect from the outside. But now, looking back, I wondered if I had simply mistaken comfort for happiness.

My friends had been right all along.

What I had with Elijah was convenient. Safe. Perfect on paper. The kind of relationship people admired because it looked polished and effortless. But somewhere along the way, it had become hollow. Predictable. More like friendship wrapped in routine than love.

And then there was Zoya.

My mind drifted helplessly to the first time she kissed me. The feeling of her lips against mine. The way every touch from her felt intentional, like she was learning me piece by piece. Every kiss sent electricity through my body in a way I had never experienced before. It felt terrifyingly new. Like discovering a part of myself I didn’t know existed.

Even now, just thinking about it made warmth spread through me all over again.
I heard the door open, followed by the soft click of the lock. I opened my eyes and found Zoya standing there, her back pressed against the door as she stared at me in silence.

That look.

No one had ever looked at me the way she did. Like I was something precious. Something she still couldn’t fully believe was real.

“Are you going to keep staring,” I teased softly, “or are you going to come sit down?”

She smiled faintly and walked toward me slowly, almost cautiously. Before she could sit beside me, I grabbed her waist and pulled her onto my lap.

“Oli,” she laughed quietly, placing a finger against my lips before I could kiss her. “My makeup.”

“Not fair,” I pouted dramatically.

“Are you okay?” she asked, her arms slipping around my neck. The teasing faded from her face, replaced by genuine concern.

“Yeah,” I murmured, resting my head against her chest. “Just… a lot on my mind.”

Her fingers moved gently through my hair. “Do you regret what we did?” she asked softly, so softly it almost broke me.

I pulled back immediately. “No. Not even a little.” I let out a small laugh, trying to lighten the heaviness in her voice. “Honestly, I should be asking you that.”

Her brows furrowed slightly as she tilted my chin up. “What do you mean?”

Heat crept up my neck. “It was my first time… with a woman.”

A smile slowly spread across her face. “I know.”

I narrowed my eyes at her. “Could you tell?”

“Not in the way you think,” she said quickly, pinching my cheek gently. “You were perfect. And you did great.”

“Why don’t I believe you?” I muttered suspiciously.

“You should,” she said, laughing under her breath. “I thought I was being loud enough to convince you I was enjoying it.”

I stared at her in disbelief.

The fact that those words had just come out of Zoya’s mouth nearly short-circuited my brain.

She noticed my expression and laughed harder, cheeks turning pink. “What? Don’t look at me like that.”

“You’re bold today,” I accused.

“Maybe you bring it out of me.”

My stomach flipped instantly.

Then she leaned closer, her lips brushing near my ear. “But if you still have doubts…” she whispered teasingly, “we can finish work today and keep practicing until you believe me.”

I groaned and buried my face in her shoulder while she laughed softly above me, completely unaware that she was actively ruining my ability to function normally.
