Chapter 100 - Hour 100
After we were dressed from head to toe in scrubs, we were finally allowed to visit Ned.
"Here," said the nurse placing the baby in my arms.
"Thank you." I smiled.
For the first time in days, my smile was a happy one.
"He's beautiful," said Zayd, caressing the baby's hand.
"I know." I smiled. "He is the personification of our victory… of Liana's victory."
We stared at the baby for a long time and then Zayd took him in his arms.
"He's so small." Zayd chuckled. "And look he's opening his eyes."
We both gleefully looked on with wonder.
"Hi," I said, as the baby yawned.
"You know, Daria," said Zayd.
I raised an eyebrow at him playfully. "What?"
"It took a hundred hours, but I can now say with certainty that I love you." His eyes twinkled.
The butterflies in my stomach started to dance. My cheeks grew warm and my heart tingled.
"I love you too," I said, looking into his eyes.
Our magical moment truly got sprinkled with stardust when Ned smiled.
"He approves it," we both said together and then laughed.
Well, it took us a hundred hours to fall in love. But we promised to stay together till the end because we wanted to fall in love a little more every day.
The End.
