Chapter 50 — Connecting Forever-and-ever
Clave.
Agreed.
Draven obviously happily agreed, and he squealed in happiness.
Draven was finally having the perfect completed family he secretly always desired. I got his approval too after Maya, so after I dropped him off at his home, telling him to keep our meeting a secret, I returned to the place where I planned on proposing to Zinnia.
I was really nervous and excited at the same time. Whatever her decision will be, I would accept it without any further questions asked.
I took out the velvet box from my pocket and looked at the ring once again. It was a stunning deep-blue 31-carat oval-cut diamond ring—a Wittelsbach-graff one. After all, she deserved the best of all.
I still couldn't believe, one mission of mine would make me meet the love of my life. I didn't even want to think how things could've gone if I had never accepted that mission. If I didn't gatecrash the wedding, if I weren't Zinnia's wedding crasher, we wouldn't have come so far.
I was grateful to the universe for everything. It led me to her.
And today, if she accepted the marriage proposal, I doubted there would be any regrets in my life ever. Even if I died after that, I would be in peace. Because I had the best woman in my life, my Zinnia.
###
Zinnia Clave sent me a ticket to my favorite movie, 'Starstruck.'
It was weird of him to send only one ticket. I mean, he wasn't here so why did he want me to go and watch a movie alone? However, as it was my only favorite movie, I didn't ask any further questions and reached the movie theatre.
"Excuse me, I had a ticket booked in the name of Zinnia Anemone, I think. Can you please check?" I asked the lady at the cash counter.
She shot me a million-dollar smile as if she had been waiting for me her entire life and said, "Please follow me, Ma'am."
Weird, but I followed her after putting my hands in my hoodie pockets.
I just wore a simple hoodie as I didn't have the energy to get ready after the tiring journey to meet Mr. Rewel.
She guided me to a venue and said, "Here is the place. Please go inside."
"But my ticke—"
She interrupted me, "You don't need it."
Again, weird, but I was too exhausted to even say anything so I just went inside the theatre.
As soon as I stepped inside, the dark theatre got illuminated by red lights. When I looked at the ceiling, it had small red flowers appearing on it. I had seen the light of small, shiny stars like that. But seeing the flowers one was surprising.
"Zinnia Anemone, the woman who hates flowers," I heard a familiar voice.
I looked here and there to look for Clave, but he was nowhere to be found.
"I will come out, don't worry, baby," he assured me. "For now, look at the ceiling."
I listened to him and looked up at the ceiling.
"Usually, people give a hundred roses to their loved ones, because giving a hundred roses your love is in bountiful supply and will last forever. But here, I am giving you thousands of roses. I got this specially customized flower projector, just for you."
"Clave..." I swear even I could hear my voice getting cracked slightly as I felt tears forming in my eyes.
"Thousands of roses represent that you are my entire life. My day starts with you and ends with you. But now, I want to see your face as the first thing when I get up from bed, and your face shall be the last one before I sleep." He further spoke, making my heartbeat fasten, "I am as nervous as you are, but here I am, in front of you."
Clave appeared in front of me finally, wearing the same outfit he wore the first day we met. He also had the black mask on his face, recreating our first meeting.
He approached me as he opened his mask. A big sincere smile was constant on his face.
I took slow steps toward him as well. I just wanted to go and wrap my arms around him, but I had to be patient. I couldn't ruin his perfectly planned scene.
As soon as we were near, he got down on one knee and opened the velvet box which I failed to notice due to the dimmed lights.
A gasp escaped my lips seeing that it was a ring. I wasn’t expecting this at all…
"Ms. Zinnia Anemone, do you want to get rid of your surname and replace it with Taylon—a perfect surname?"
I wasn’t sure when tears started to pour out of my emotions, but for a moment, I just stared at his handsome face, waiting for my answer with his breaths stopped. Then I ended up laughing thinking about his perfect arrangements and my dress up. I shook my head in denial, unable to believe that this was actually happening, not just a hazy dream I was having from exhaustion.
However, my head shake made his face fall immediately.
"I don't want to get rid of this surname," I said and extended my hand which brought back the glow on his face. "I just want a promise."
Clave's eyes got watery as well. He took out the ring and slid it on my ring finger. Then he kissed my hand and said, "You own Clave Taylon, star promise."
I just chuckled as he got up and kissed my forehead.
"I don't know what to say, Clave, except for the fact that I love you, and yes, I will marry you," I said honestly. I was feeling lots of emotions right now. It was hard to articulate them.
"Today, you don't have to say anything. We can just watch your favorite movie and cuddle. This entire movie theatre is ours now," he stated, making me narrow my eyes at him.
"What do you mean? It's not like you bought the theatre or something, right?" I joked, but when he didn't say anything and just shrugged, my eyes grew as wide as saucers.
He was unbelievable.
However, I loved him so I would let it go this time. He was allowed to be reckless sometimes.
We sat and started cuddling as the movie started on the screen.
Clave was engrossed in the movie, but midway, I just gazed at him.
From stranger to the love of my life, we had really come a long way.
Clave Taylon brought romance into my boring life. He bloomed in my life like flowers. At first, our relationship was a bud when we met. However, it started to grow slowly. From him asking for a part-time job in Zinnia's Heaven to him asking the hand of Zinnia Anemone for marriage.
Honestly speaking, I didn’t like him at the beginning. He was just a chirpy, carefree wedding crasher from my point of view. But things changed when he blended into my life. When I introduced my son to him, he didn't judge me, rather he respected me even more for being a strong person.
He didn't know the truth about Draven, but still, he treated him as if he was his son. Truly speaking, I started liking him the day he created the Superhero-Champ bond with Draven. Heck, even I got jealous when Draven gave Clave more attention than me.
But now, the universe must be laughing at us. It made us meet, like, separate, and then connected each other for eternity.
It was not the ending of our love story, rather it was the beginning of a new phase of our lives. We were ready to face any hurdles together, especially if that involved our heartbeat—our Draven.
