“Well, I know you are the Alpha and there are rumors around the pack,” She advised.

“What kind of rumors?” I asked.

“Well, I think the main rumor is that you can be very vicious at times.”

“Hmm well I guess that is partly true, but I am only vicious to individuals who hurt my loved ones or one of my pack members.”

“I guess that makes sense…” I paused, “I am also not afraid of you, but I do not know why I just sense that you would never hurt me.” I smiled softly.

“You are much too old for me what would your daughter think?” I asked.

“My daughter would just be glad I was happy and with my true mate.” He advised.

“Are you sure she would not care?” I asked and paused, “What about the pack they all think Luella is your mate.”

“I assure you she would not care how old you are and besides, I am only forty how old are you…” he paused, “Let me guess twenty-five?” He asked.

“No, I am thirty-three.” I smiled.

“He was charming I will give him that we may be his second chance mate.” Alice spoke.

“How could a man like him even consider me his equal?” I asked her.

“Why not I am thirty-three and I have yet to find my mate.” I advised.

“I know you think that, but you have never spoken to the Alpha in person before now you were always too busy for events because of work.” She growled.

“I guess but still what do you think about him?” I asked.

“I think he is a lot of things brave strong caring being the top three but right come on look how handsome he is.” She advised.

I sighed because I knew she was right.

“So, we only have seven years between us.” He paused, “That is such a big age gap.” He spoke sarcastically.

“You think you are funny huh.” I paused, “But is she not still your Luna?”

“No, she is not I will be denouncing her officially as Luna of the pack, but I removed our mate bond already as of two days ago.” He advised.

“Really?” I asked.

“Yes, the moment I put her in that room I removed my bond to her, and I could only do this because we are not true mates.” He paused, “See look for yourself not marking on my neck.” He advised.

He turned his head so I could see the place where the mate mark would normally be. I looked and I was shocked wow he really was free to have another mate. I reached forward with my hand to touch his neck behind his right ear, and I grazed it with my fingers.

I felt that familiar spark that I felt earlier when our hands touched briefly, and I liked it I grazed his ear lobe. When I did that, I heard him growl softly, he reached up and grasped my hand in his. I looked in his eyes and I knew I had nothing to fear. I smiled, the look in his eyes was something I would never forget, he looked at me with a love that I did not understand yet.

“I have a question for you.” He advised.

He kissed my wrist, and I felt the sparks fly even more. I could feel my core starting to throb.

“Okay what is your question?” I asked.

“I am glad you are happy my dear.” He smiled and paused, “However I am very frustrated.” He advised.

I looked at him in confusion.

“What do you mean frustrated?” I asked.

“Let me show you.” He smiled.

“How about we pick this up after I answer the door.” I nodded.

Before I opened the door, I could sense who was on the other side of the door and I knew her scent was all over me. He may not notice because it was tinged with the scent of arousal.

When I opened the door, I blocked her from view. I did not want him to see who was in my room with me.

“What can I do for you Kassius?” I asked.

“I hope this is not too much to ask but I would like my daughter to accompany you on your journey to the other pack I would like her to see if anyone there could possibly be her mate.” He asked.

“Hmm, that is an intriguing thought.” I paused, keeping my growl at bay but just barely “As long as she does not object, I would love for your daughter to go with us to the Nightshade pack.” I spoke knowing she and I would not like to be apart for long.

“Oh, thank you Alpha I am so glad I know she has waited for almost twelve years and has not found him yet so I thought maybe if we expanded the search, she might find him.” He smiled.

“That is no problem my friend you are my best warrior and hardly ask for anything so if I can do this for you, I have no problem.” I paused, “Besides, I am sure her mate is closer than you think I am sure she will have no issue finding them.” I advised with a smile.

“I am sure you are right Alpha.” He smiled.

He bowed and turned to leave when I spoke up.

“Kassius before you go could you do something for me?” I asked him.

He turned around, looked at me and spoke.

“What would you like my Alpha?” Kassius asked.

“I would like you to assist Callum by choosing three to five of our best warriors to go with us on the trip…” I paused, “Especially now that your daughter will be joining us on the trip to the nightshade pack.” I thoughtfully advised.

“Yes, Alpha it will be my pleasure to assist with this even though I know she will not need the protection as I trained her after all.” He spoke proudly.

“Thank you, my friend, I appreciate the help,” I paused… “Oh, and I am not to be disturbed unless the pack is under attack,” I advised.

“Yes, my alpha.” He bowed and turned to leave.

I shut the door and turned to see Kassandra staring at me.

“Now where were we, my dear Kassie?” I asked.

I walked up to her and leaned down to look into her eyes and I saw her eyes were sparkling but they were not their usual color they were pale blue. I smiled because I knew her wolf had come out to play.

“I think we were right here,” She replied and smiled.

I caught her as she jumped into my arms and wrapped her arms and legs around me.

As I jumped into his arms I knew I had surprised him but I was happy that my handsome mate was strong enough to be able to hold me up in his arms. But what made me most happy was what he did after. Lucan laughed from deep in his chest and I officially heard the best sound that I have ever heard in my whole life and I knew Kassie agreed as well.

I smiled and leaned in to give him a deep enthusiastic kiss. When our lips met it was like magic. Lucan growled into my mouth and walked toward the wall behind us. He pulled his lips away and I began to whimper as our lips separated but he began trailing kisses along my collarbone and neck.

I moaned in appreciation.
