75. The Night You Died

“You’ll only be dead a few minutes. Then we’ll have forever.” I could tell you were frightened, but I knew I could make it all better by the time you awoke. You asked how you tasted that night, when I sucked out near every drop of blood within that soft, mortal body. It was like Christmas dinner, Jules: a long, delightful feast, leaving me full and sated and already a little wistful that the holiday was at its end. There would be no more drinks of that sweetest sanguis, but I was still humming with anticipation, because the New Years celebration of your rebirth was still yet to come. I kissed my blood into your mouth and felt your breath catch, a ragged rattle of air, followed by utter stillness. You hung limp there in my hands, and I watched the light go out of your eyes like a dimming ember going black.

Then I waited. I waited so long, I actually began to worry I had made a horrible, irreversible mistake. “Come on, Jules. Come back. Come back to me. Now.” In nine hundred years of this existence, I had only ever had two people die on me when attempting to create another vampire. They were potential enforcers, important pawns in the criminal underworld, but I didn’t like either of them all that much, so I was hardly devastated when my attempted gifting turned to true death for those unfortunate tools.

You were not a tool, and there was no way you would die on me. There was no way I would have actually killed you before you could even reach your twentieth birthday… I just needed to keep you with me. Yes, it was selfish, but the amount of regret and panic flooding into even my cold, dead heart after fifteen full minutes had passed with zero response... I feared you were actually gone, and I held onto you all the tighter.

I was so relieved when the blood started rolling down your cheeks, the solid sheet of red flooding over those gorgeous hazel eyes and spilling out your tear-ducts. It’s a good sign to be crying blood after ingesting a vampire’s sanguis. It is the classic initiation of rebirth, and when you finally moved, letting out that sharp and sudden gasp, I breathed a sigh of relief in turn.

Then the screaming started. You were staring right at me, fist knotting in my shirt, but then your head whipped to the side and you started shuddering, and seizing, crying out, and sobbing all the harder.

I told you it would be over soon, but I had to peel off your hands and look away at that point. I always forget what a gory, unsettling trial it is to have your mortal flesh converted into that of a blemish free predator, your soul burnt right out of your body by demonically diseased blood.

I think the reason I never remember it, is because even when it is happening right in front of me… I don’t look, not for long. I turn away my eyes, shutter my ears, and just try not to think about it. I couldn't even remember this happening to me, not for the longest time. I blacked out everything after Roman gave me that red-filled chalice before the eyes of all his court, but it’s been coming back to me steadily, every brutal sensation of that long ago night. I’ve been having more and more nightmares lately, Jules, remembering things I had blocked out, things I needed to keep entirely blacked out. But now I’m changing, feeling it all. I remember Roman sitting right there over me while I died, then thrashed awake and started convulsing. He was smiling the whole time, laughing at my screams. He liked the entertainment. They all did.

I am **nothing** like Roman.

I couldn’t cry for you, Jules, but I wanted to. I couldn’t go apologizing for putting you through this. I could not exhibit any doubt or weakness, not even to you, so of course I had to leave. Even Antonio could not stand to enter that room, as you started screaming so loud your voice gave out. I told him to come get me immediately, as soon as it got quiet. “And bring blood bags, at least a dozen. Flavor doesn’t matter. Just make sure it’s human.”

I knew you’d be starving by the time you awoke.

My thoughts stayed with you for each hour of that change, even while I was trying to distract myself with paperwork and music. I went rushing right back to your side the second the phone rang. Then I saw you there with Antonio, sucking down the last of that pile of O positive like a dying wanderer rescued from the desert. Shining amber eyes, bright and alert, darted over to lock with my own as the last of the red faded from the iris. “Luc…” You looked down in confusion at the punctured, red-stained plastic in your hands. It dropped to the floor. “You... You killed me.”

I tilted up your chin, smiling so wide and drinking in every detail of that perfect, golden face. “I gave you eternal life,” I pointedly corrected. “And how do you really feel about it?”

You swallowed. “Hungry.”

“Of course. Jenna’s on her way,” I list off an appropriate prael. “What else do you want?”

You jumped me, tearing off my clothing, but I was hardly angry at the expensive loss of a single outfit. How could I ever be angry with your tongue in my mouth and your hands on my flesh?

I fell with you happily to the floor, letting you rip my slacks clean in two while struggling to be free of your jeans.

“You want Antonio to see this?”

“I don’t care.”

I smiled all the broader, and for all your aggression, your kisses remained expert and arousing. The teeth didn’t come out until you started sucking on my neck with my dick already inside you and your hips moving in such forceful, manic rhythm, you strained my cock. That got me groaning, but in a good way. We could be as rough as we wanted now, and heal away all damage in an instant. I dug my nails into your ass and took control of your thrusting to slow you down. I laughed at the jolt of intoxicating venom dripping from your fangs as you gulped down my blood as if I was the prael and you the master. I pulled you off before you could drink too much of it though, and you shivered, staring down at me wide-eyed. “Fucking… burns.”

“You can’t drink dead blood. It will make you sick,” I warned, stroking at your face. “Now make me cum already.”

You couldn’t take a long enough breather from my lips to see my expression when I finally did.

Be honest with me, Julian, and tell me what you remember from that night. I know you often struggle to put things into word, but you seldom need to articulate. That is not me telling you to shut up. I am saying, I really do know you. You always show me exactly how you’re feeling. You certainly showed me then. I didn’t instruct you to do much of anything. You started sucking me off the minute I finished. When Antonio came up behind you and started kissing your neck, with his rising dick against your ass cheeks, you turned right around and frenched him with zero hesitation. You hardly let him stand before you leapt right onto his chest with legs wrapped around his sternum, sending him staggering back against the wall. That made me a little jealous. I’ll admit it, so I took my dick just now re-firmed courtesy of your hungry lips and started thrusting into you anew even as you were clinging to someone else. The way you moaned my name… I knew you never wanted me to stop.

Jenna arrived, and you dared break away from me to try and maul her, before she had even undressed. I held you back in firm but not painful choke hold, whispering sweetly, “Calm down. Take it slow. She’s not a blood bag. You can’t go and suck her dry.”

“She smells…” You shiver, and I knew exactly what you meant.

I pushed a hand through your curls, sucking on your earlobe, and you closed your eyes, smiling and panting all the heavier. “Jenna darling, be a good guest and strip for us already.”

She does, but you hardly even look at her. You kept your eyes on me, even as you were pinning her to the bed, and thrusting into her, and drinking down her blood. You wanted to fuck her. You did it instinctively, without me even needing to recommend it. It really does make the taste of that pumping blood so very much enhanced, but immediately after your drink, you wanted little to do with that downright stunning women. You straddled me again instead.

I truly had forgotten how fun it was to have a freshly turned vampire with blood still aflame, someone ravenous with appetite, especially someone… Someone I actually loved and could never be bored with.

That night in particular, you were the most energetic, exciting thing I had seen in a millennia. You wanted to keep fucking me long past the time when I needed to leave and return to my business. I wanted to let you do as you pleased, for as long as you had will to do so, but after 24 hours of rotating praels and endless, carnal delights, disruptions were knocking on our bedroom door with rude, but necessary insistence.

“What?” I demanded, thrusting into you as you mashed your face between a sleepy Sonya’s breasts, sucking blood straight from her tit.

“Master Luc. It’s Resa Dulce. She’s been waiting for you.”

I’d forgotten all about that meeting. I pulled out of you before I could climax again, but you clutched at my ass, shoving me right back up against you. “Don’t be greedy, Jules,” I laughed, kissing the back of your neck. “I have work to do. I’ll be back in a few hours.”

You turned right from Sonya and pulled me down ontop of you. “You didn’t… You didn’t let me leave.” These were the first words you said in that entire, all nighter marathon of fucking, but I could see the plea in that wild-eyed stare, and it made me smile all the broader.

“And now you don’t want me to leave you? Not ever?” I tease, and you kissed me long and deep again, rolling your pelvis right into my hardening dick.

“Antonio!”

“Yes sir.” He’d been absent from the festivities these past five hours while seeing to his regular duties in the nightclub above. He came running back to our doorway pretty damn quickly though, the second he was free.

I cradled the back of your head and tried to keep my dick clear of your rectum as you keep distractingly sucking on my neck and stroking at my skin. “Watch him. Keep him fed, but… Make sure he doesn’t… kill anyone,” I gasped.

Antonio nodded, and I gave you a parting kiss, long and wet. “Goodbye, lover dearest. There’s no need to rush anymore. We have all the time in the world.”

We didn’t of course, because Roman was about to find out about my now immortal fuck-boy and I’d be faced with deadly consequences for my rash, impulsive decisions.
