Chapter 20
Chapter 20
OLIVIA
It's been a week since I got hospitalized and was diagnosed with migraine. I didn't know that Ryan called my dad and told him about it.
I was shocked the other day when I received a call from a foreign number. I just picked out of curiosity and was surprised it was my dad at the other end.
I miss him so much.
He begged me to stop thinking but how could I when I was on the same roof with his hot badass best friend?
Additionally, Ryan made sure he took extra care of me.
And later he would ask me to stay away? To stop loving him? Jokes on him because I wouldn't.
Melody on the other hand wouldn't stop calling me everyday. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because that's the sweetest thing ever.
But I do feel guilty. Guilty because I can't tell her my love life whenever we are discussing boys.
Melody is a wild bitch who hooks up with any guy she wants. It wasn't a big deal for her.
And what about me? I have no experience because the one who's supposed to be my experience doesn't want me.
Melody kept asking me if I do have a boyfriend but my answer was negative.
Sitting here in the same office as Ryan and watching him flip through a file in his hands, I couldn't help but gawk at him.
Oh, his lips.
My nipples grew hard as I wondered how it would feel if his lips were wrapped around them. I felt the need to touch myself down there.
It hasn't been easy having this man everywhere around. I just pray I wouldn't jump on him one day.
“Em?” I heard Melanie's voice calling.
“Is she okay?” Ryan asked with a knowing smile plastered on his face.
He does know the effect he has on me and I'm sure as hell he's happy about it. I wasn't even aware that Melody was here, I was so shocked to see her.
After telling her about Rachel, she insisted on coming to the company but I refused and yesterday when I complained about Rachel again, she told me she would come to the company just to stay with me till my closing time.
Melody asked me to tell Ryan about it but I refused, explaining to her that that would only make Rachel and her folks hate me more and I wasn't ready.
“Mel…” I squealed and rolled my eyes at Ryan who had a smirk on his face.
“Do you space out this much at work? Or is this a new habit?” Melody asked, using her finger to touch the bridge of my nose.
“Maybe this is why Rachel hates you.” She added and I glared at her. She raised her hands up in surrender.
“I guess it's a new habit since you haven't seen her do this before.” Ryan interrupted and Melody nodded in agreement.
Pathetic.
I mouth the word ‘fuck you’ when I was sure no one was looking and he half shrugged, stood up and walked out.
“Tell me…” Melody started as she sat down on the chair opposite me.
“Mhm.”
“Who's the guy? The one making you blush all day and had you spacing out.” My stomach sank and I just stared at her with no words forming out of my mouth.
“What? Don't tell you're tongue tied?” She teased.
How the hell do I tell her it's Ryan? How would I explain the fact that he's the one making me wet?
Cringe right? But I want him, I need him. I feel empty down there and I know he's the only one who could fill that space up.
“Earth to you Em, jeez.” Melody blurted out.
“Up, let's go get you something to eat. Maybe if your stomach is filled, your brain would be filled too and then you can start explaining before I rip words out of your mouth.” She joked and scrunched her nose up.
“Yes ma'am.” I replied and laughed.
When we got to the cafeteria, almost all the tables were occupied, so Melody and I were standing at the far end, waiting for some teams to get up after their lunch.
“And who are you? Another lazy worker?” Rachel's voice cut through, interrupting me and Melanie's conversation.
I can swear that Rachel has no good plans for herself today. The first thing I did was step in–between Rachel and Melody and they both gave me a confused look.
I know my friend more than anyone, Melody doesn't need explanations, she would pounce on Rachel in the next minute.
“Rachel, this is not a good time.” I whispered with an awkward smile on my face while pointing my two index fingers together.
I know the smile was awkward because I could feel my cheek threatening to tear apart.
“Oh, this half breed is the one you call Rachel?” Melody asked and I widened my eyes in shock due to the nickname she just gave Rachel.
“Excuse me?” Rachel said, her face was red already.
“And you're an excuse bitch.” Melody answered immediately.
Oops.
“Mel, please don't create a scene here, I'm pleading with you.” My two hands were on Melanie's shoulder right now but her eyes were not on me but rather, she was glaring at Rachel who was behind me.
I can swear that Melody would fly if given the chance to.
“Mel, please.” I shook her severely and when she had her eyes on me, I pouted and she blinked at me like a confused kitten.
“Get out of here, now.” She said to Rachel who hasn't said anything the whole time.
Quite feisty and crazy. Melanie, sigh.
Rachel walked out after giving me an angry look which said she would come for me later. I slapped Melanie's hand down when she raised her middle finger at Rachel.
“Hey ladies.” Dave greeted us as he approached.
“What's up Dave.” I replied and Melody just smiled.
“All good. Let's go over to that table.” He pointed at an empty table which was way too close to where Rachel was sitting with her friends.
“No no, let's sit somewhere else.” I declined politely but of course, Melody wouldn't have that.
“Why? Are you scared of that bitch? Huh?” She asked, crossing her arms around her bosom.
I didn't say anything else, I just started waking to another empty table which wasn't too far from where we were standing and Dave just laughed.
As we sat down at the table, Melody was still fuming about Rachel's behavior.
"I swear, if I were a guy, I'd beat her up so bad," Melody said, her voice low and angry.
I placed a calming hand on her arm. "Hey, Mel, calm down. It's not worth it."
Melody glared at me. "You're always so calm and collected, Em. Don't you ever get tired of her character?”
If only she knows how bad I wanted to kick Rachel.
I smiled. "Of course, I do. But getting into a fight with Rachel isn't going to solve anything."
Melody huffed, but I could see the tension in her body start to ease.
"Let's just order our food before the lunch rush starts," I suggested, trying to distract her.
Melody nodded, still looking a bit angry, but she started browsing the menu.
As we ordered our food, I couldn't help but notice Dave looking at me from across the table. I felt disgust and a little flutter in my chest, but I tried to ignore it.
After Dave finished his lunch and left, Melody turned to me with a mischievous grin. "I think Dave has a crush on you, Em."
I rolled my eye
s, trying to play it cool. "Don't be ridiculous, Mel.”
“Who's crushing on who?” For a moment,.I thought that was Ryan but it wasn't him.
