Chapter 34 What Kind of Husband Are You?
Chapter 34 What Kind of Husband Are You?
He threw himself on the ground and started throwing a tantrum, rolling around. "Mr. Wilson! You can't wrongly accuse a good person like this! I'm one of Starlight Entertainment's original employees. I've done so much for the company. You can't treat me like this just for some indecent secretary!"
Seeing the bodyguards about to drag him away, Warren had a flash of inspiration and screamed at the top of his lungs, "I want to see Miss Daphne! Miss Daphne personally promoted me. Even if I haven't achieved much, I've worked hard. You can't touch me!"
Just then, the elevator doors opened again.
Daphne strode in wearing high heels, looking furious. She had rushed over as soon as she received Warren's call for help.
Taking in the scene, she immediately frowned and quickly walked over to stand in front of Warren, blocking the bodyguards.
"Dylan, what are you doing!" Daphne raised her voice, her face full of disapproval. "Mr. Hall is a company veteran. You just got to Starlight Entertainment and you're treating him like this - aren't you afraid of crushing everyone's morale? Even if you want to establish your authority, you should be more polite about it!"
Dylan slowly lifted his eyes, looking at Daphne blocking his way, his gaze full of mockery and coldness. "Are you in on this with him?"
Daphne felt a sharp pain in her chest from his icy stare.
She bit her lip as feelings of grievance and jealousy instantly exploded. "Dylan! Have you lost your mind? Just because of Grace, you're even suspecting me now? Are you so obsessed with her that you're attacking everyone indiscriminately!"
"She's missing." Dylan couldn't be bothered with her unreasonable behavior. His voice was ice-cold, each word seeming to squeeze through his teeth. "At noon today, Warren took her in his car. After that, her location signal completely disappeared in the outskirts of West Side. Now, do you still want to protect him?"
Daphne froze, looking at Warren on the ground in disbelief.
Seeing this, Warren quickly seized the opportunity to defend himself. "Miss Daphne, Mr. Wilson, I've been wronged! I did kindly give Grace a ride at noon, but halfway there, she said she had personal business to handle and asked to get out herself! I have no idea where she went! Out here in the middle of nowhere, she ran off on her own and got lost - how can you blame that on me!"
"Got out herself?" Dylan's gaze was sharp as a knife as he walked step by step toward Warren, looking down at him from above as if viewing a corpse.
He leaned down slightly, his tone so calm it was bone-chilling. "If that's the case, hand over your dashcam footage. Where she got out can be easily verified."
Warren's face instantly turned deathly pale, cold sweat rolling down his forehead in large drops. He stammered, his eyes frantically darting around. "The... the car's too old, the dashcam... the dashcam broke a long time ago, there's nothing on it..."
"Broke, or did you remove it?" Dylan let out a cold laugh.
A security guard quickly walked in and threw the violently destroyed remains of a dashcam in front of Warren. "Mr. Wilson, we checked the car. The memory card was pulled out and the device was smashed."
The evidence was irrefutable.
The murderous intent in Dylan's eyes could no longer be concealed.
Without another glance at Warren, he turned toward the floor-to-ceiling windows and coldly uttered two words: "Do it."
Getting the order, the bodyguard unceremoniously kicked Warren behind the knee.
Warren screamed and fell heavily to his knees, his kneecaps nearly shattering.
"Mr. Wilson! This is abuse of power!" Warren was drenched in cold sweat from the pain but still tried to bluff.
Dylan looked down at him from above, his eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses radiating suffocating killing intent.
He spoke slowly, his voice ice-cold and piercing. "Do you know who you messed with today? If Grace loses a single hair, forget about you - all of South City will pay the price, and the Brown family will definitely not let you go."
"The Brown family?" Sam, who was being restrained nearby, suddenly went weak in the knees and collapsed to the ground.
Though just a finance guy, he knew the Brown family's background well.
They were a top-tier elite family who could make Starlight Entertainment disappear with a flick of their finger!
Warren's heart also skipped a beat. His mind flashed to Grace's cold, confident face in that abandoned warehouse - she had indeed said she was Victor's daughter.
But so what? He'd already forced her to jump off the cliff. Dead people tell no tales!
Thinking this, Warren gritted his teeth stubbornly. "Mr. Wilson, don't try to scare me with the Brown family! She's just a secretary who sells her body - how could she be a Brown family heiress? If you want to protect her, don't make up such ridiculous excuses!"
Seeing this, Daphne immediately stepped forward to shield Warren. She looked at Dylan with utter disbelief, as if viewing a foolish king bewitched by a vixen. "Dylan, have you lost your mind? For some fox spirit of unknown origin, you're making up lies about the Brown family to frame Mr. Hall? He's a hero of the company - how can you treat your own people like this for a woman!"
Before Daphne finished speaking, the heavy double doors of the CEO's office were violently kicked open from outside.
Accompanied by chaotic footsteps, Alfred burst in with bloodshot eyes, like an enraged cornered beast. His custom suit was wrinkled, his chin covered with dark stubble, looking haggard but with a desperate, reckless energy.
"Where's Grace? Hand Grace over!" Alfred locked eyes on Dylan and strode toward him, but was held back firmly by two security guards.
He struggled, eyes blazing as he roared at Dylan, "Dylan! Where are you hiding her? I'm her husband! What right do you have to hide her!"
At these words, the entire office fell into deathly silence.
Daphne's eyes widened in shock, her gaze darting between Alfred and Dylan.
This crazy man who just appeared was actually Grace's husband? Didn't that make Grace a married woman? A married woman who dared to act innocent and seduce Dylan!
"Husband?" Dylan looked at Alfred's hysterical appearance as if viewing a pathetic clown. He let out a cold laugh and methodically adjusted his cuffs, his tone full of undisguised mockery and contempt. "Mr. White seems to have a poor memory. Do you need me to help you recall?"
Dylan stepped forward, his gaze sharp as a blade. "Back then, to appease Brenda, you gave Grace a fake marriage certificate. Legally, you two never even established a marriage. How are you her husband? Right now, you're not even her ex-husband. What right do you have to make a scene here?"
This statement was like a bombshell exploding in the office.
