Chapter 104

Chapter 104
Martina was in a deep, peaceful slumber when she felt a gentle tickling sensation on her face and ears. She tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids were heavy.
Despite her efforts, her heavy eyelids refused to open. Suddenly, she heard the sweet, familiar, tender voice of Trey.
"My priceless gem," he whispered.
"Trey?" She struggled to open her eyes, longing to see his face, but before she could succeed, she felt his soft and warm lips on hers.
Just as she was about to respond to the unexpected kiss, Trey pulled away.
Reacting quickly and instinctively, she opened her eyes and seized Trey's wrist as she playfully demanded,
"Where do you think you're going after stealing a kiss from me?"
Trey stood before her, his face beaming with a wide smile.
"Trey? Are you okay?" she inquired, puzzled by his expression. Her eyes adjusted to her surroundings, and she realized she was in the hospital.
Just then memories of her tripping at the police station came flooding back. She looked up at Trey's smiling face and felt relieved that he wasn't angry with her.
She had wanted to act lovingly at the police station to distract Trey so he would calm down when she saw the way he was fuming, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.
"Why are you smiling when I just woke up from an accident?" she said, trying to feign anger.
"Because my wife is so beautiful that I can't stop admiring her," Trey replied.
"Oh, I'm flattered," Martina said sarcastically and rolled her eyes.
"What?" Trey said, leaning over and cupping her cheek. "You don't believe me? You are beautiful as you are precious, and I'm going to say it to you until my last breath. Thank you for everything, and also this."
Trey said, placing his other hand on Martina's stomach.
"It's confirmed, Jade, our love is growing inside of you. We are going to be parents once again," Trey announced, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"It's... it has been confirmed? Then is he okay? Did I hurt him?" Martina asked worriedly as she placed her hand on her stomach next to Trey’s.
"Hey, hey, hey," Trey said, shaking his head. "She is fine; don't worry."
“She?" Martina asked.
"Yes, I want a daughter who will look like you," Trey said.
"No. I want a son who will look like you," Martina argued.
“No, I want a daughter,” Trey said.
“The baby is growing inside me; I decide what I want,” Martina asserted.
“Remember It's my sperm; I put the baby there. I want a daughter,” Trey insisted.
“Son,”
“Daughter,”
“I said, son,”
“And I said daughter.” Martina didn't realize Trey was only teasing her.
“No, I wan…” Before she could finish speaking, Trey leaned in, sealing her lips, and kissed her deeply.
She wrapped her arms around his neck and responded as they both got lost in the moment.
As Martina and Trey were so engrossed in their argument, they completely missed the sound of the door opening behind them. Unaware of the audience that had gathered behind them.
Old Master Collins, Mr. and Mrs. Collins, Antonio, and Susan stood there in shock, their eyes wide and mouths agape as they observed the tense interaction between Trey and Martina.
Their thoughts at that time mirrored each other's.
'Those two lovebirds do realize they can't decide the baby's gender, right?'
Meanwhile, the kids, Luis, Clara, and Michelle, covered their faces when they saw their parents kissing and turned away.
Their actions prompted the adults to realize their presence in the room.
At that, Mrs. Collins cleared her throat to notify Trey and Martina of their presence.
"Umh, uhm! Enough with the love… mmm-mh, there are kids here."
Startled by the interruption, Martina released her grip on Trey's neck and pushed him away as they both turned to face Mrs. Collins.
"Rosa?" Martina stammered, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she saw the audience they had.
Trey stood in front of the group, confusion written all over his face, as he hadn't contacted anyone about Martina's accident.
Then his dark gaze settled on his grandfather, the perpetrator; he must have been the one to inform them. He thought.
"What are all of you doing here?" he asked. Mrs. Collins rolled her eyes as she retorted,
"Have you forgotten who you are? We saw the news, and we met your grandfather in the lobby." She marched up to Trey and delivered a sharp smack on his shoulder. "You brat, why did I not know I have a granddaughter too? I couldn't stop hugging them when I saw them at the hospital entrance. I didn't need to be told to know they were my grandchildren, such replicas."
Then she frowned and said,
"And also, why didn't I know this old man prevented me from meeting my daughter when she came to visit? And I'm just finding out from the culprit!" she exclaimed, casting a disapproving gaze at old Master Collins.
"I was busy," Trey replied, fixing his grandfather with a withering glare that seemed to convey a sense of murderous intent.
A gaze that said, ‘If looks could kill, you would have been six feet under.’
"Oh, Jade, how are you?" Mrs. Collins asked as she approached Martina.
“I'm fine. What about you?” Martina asked.
"I'm fine, dear. I'm sorry I couldn't come to see you soon. Congratulations. I'm going to be a grandmother again." Mrs. Collins said as she settled on the edge of the bed, taking Martina's hands in hers.
"Your dad whisked me away on a business trip. I didn't want to go, but he insisted I accompany him. After we returned, I had to attend some functions as Madam Collins, a duty that should be yours as the current Mrs. Collins. I'm old now, and I find such gatherings dreadfully dull," she explained, sighing.
Martina smiled and replied,
"No, I saw your picture from the gala three days ago. You looked outstanding, like a 16-year-old."
"Aww, my Jade hasn't changed. You still flatter me. Give Mom a hug. I miss you so much," Mr. Collins said, leaning in for a warm embrace, and they both shared a heartfelt hug.
