Chapter 103
Upon reaching Martina, Trey swiftly lifted her in his arms and raced towards his car. His bodyguard, standing by, promptly opened the door for him, and he wasted no time in getting inside.
"Boss, she's bleeding. You need to stop it," Diego, who was seated in the passenger seat, urged, pointing to the stain on Trey's hand beneath Martina's neck.
"Damn it, pass me the medicine kit," Trey exclaimed, his fear evident as he noticed the stain.
He was so worried that he failed to register the metallic scent of blood that had filled the car.

Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the hospital. Dr. Mark and a team of nurses were already waiting with a gurney at the entrance. Trey quickly stepped out of the car, carrying Martina in his arms, and told the medical staff,
"No need for the gurney,” he said, turning to Dr. Mark and instructing. “Lead the way. I'll follow. It'll be faster."
"Right away, sir," Dr. Mark responded, taking the lead as they hurriedly made their way to the emergency room. When they reached the emergency room, Trey gently lowered Lisa onto the bed. Dr. Mark quickly approached her and immediately began examining her and asked,
"What happened to her?"
"She tripped; fucking start attending to her!" Trey snapped, his frustration and anxiety evident in his voice.
Dr. Mark attentively tended to Martina, feeling a surge of nerves as Trey had never spoken to him in such an unusually fierce manner.
Despite his anxiety, he made a concerted effort to maintain a composed demeanor in front of Trey.
He was aware that Trey had chosen him as his personal doctor because he was the only one who did not cower in fear at Trey's imposing and intimidating presence.
After carefully cleaning the cut on the crown of Martina's head and expertly bandaging it, he collected a sample of her blood and handed it to one of the nurses with instructions to rush it to the lab, emphasizing the urgency of having the test results available within a matter of minutes.
After the nurse exited the ward, Dr. Mark approached the X-ray scanner and carefully positioned it over Martina's head in order to conduct a thorough scan for any signs of internal bleeding or broken bones.
As he was about to start the scan, Trey, who had been pacing back and forth behind him, suddenly halted and intervened, voicing his worry.
"Is it safe to use that on her? What if she's pregnant?"
Dr. Mark nodded and replied.
"If you think she's pregnant, then I'll adjust the scan to cover her head, chest, and limbs, which should be safe."
Trey visibly relaxed and nodded in understanding.
…~...
About an hour later, Dr. Mark completed his tasks, and the nurse arrived with the lab results. After reviewing the results, he turned to the anxious Trey and said,
"Sir, please, can we discuss this in my office?"
"I can't leave her here alone," Trey replied.
"Don't worry, sir. I'm going to have her transferred to the private ward; you can join her there after our conversation," Dr. Mark explained.
After a moment of consideration, Trey nodded, and they both made their way to Dr. Mark's office.
Upon arriving at the office, Trey wasted no time in asking about Martina's condition.
"How is she doing? Did she suffer any serious internal injuries?" Trey felt anxious and impatient.
"She is fine. She just suffered a minor head injury, which led to her losing consciousness. Aside from that, there weren't any internal injuries, and the baby is safe and unharmed," Dr. Mark explained.
However, what also caught Trey's attention was Dr. Mark's last words:
‘His Jade is indeed pregnant. He is going to be a father once again.’ Trey was overjoyed and wanted to go to his woman that instant, but then he thought there must be something else for Dr. Mark to summon him to his office.
"Is there something else I need to know?"
"There is nothing else to disclose, sir. I thought it would be better to relay the news to you in private since it is top secret," Dr. Mark said, and Trey nodded in agreement.
"You are right. So when is she expected to wake up?" he asked.
"She could regain consciousness any time from now," Dr. Mark responded.
Satisfied with the update, Trey patted him on the shoulder and said,
“Loosen up, man; I was frustrated back then.”
Dr. Mark forced a smile, though he was still shaken.
With that, Trey left for Martina's private ward.

As Trey made his way to the private ward, his memories flooded back to the day when he had been admitted to this very hospital, in the same ward where Martina now lay, six years ago.
He had woken up after a surgery to remove bullets and glass shards from his body following an ambush attack.
When he opened his eyes, he was met by the sight of Martina's captivating face and her alluring brown eyes gazing down at him.
At that moment, it felt as if time had paused to witness the intensity of their locked gaze.
And when she smiled at him, her smile had this magnetic effect on him, stirring a wild desire to kiss her full, inviting lips until they were red with his bite marks, so she would bear the mark of his affection.
Despite these feelings, he masked his emotions, since he mistook her for Valerie.
He had struggled to comprehend his unexpected attraction for Martina for days till he was discharged.
However, that attraction eventually led him to marry her after Valerie rejected him.
Back then he didn't marry Martina to spite Valerie like he made her believe; no, rather, it was because he found himself falling in love with her all over again, even though he thought she was Valerie.
On reaching the ward, one of the bodyguards stationed at the door opened it for him, allowing him to enter.
With measured steps, he quietly made his way to Martina's bedside, where he leaned in and planted a tender kiss on her forehead.
"My priceless gem," he murmured, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear as he gazed at her face, finding it as beautiful as ever.
He wanted to absorb every detail of her exquisite face, knowing he would never get tired of staring at it.
Overwhelmed with love for her, he whispered,
"I was right, wasn't I? Our love has blossomed into a precious new life inside you. I'm overjoyed; once again, you've made me the happiest man alive. I promise to make you the happiest woman on earth, my Jade."
With those heartfelt words, he leaned in to place a soft, lingering kiss on her lips.
