Chapter 102
Chapter 102
Three weeks later, at the Golden Height Corporation, Trey sat in his spacious office, his gaze lingering on the assortment of the most expensive dazzling engagement rings that were carefully arranged on his mahogany desk, as he contemplated which one was best to suit his Jade.
His mind was consumed by thoughts of Martina; he wanted to ask her to marry him.
To finally propose in the right way.
After the conversation with Antonio two weeks ago, he had come to the decision.
He wanted to make things right with Martina. Their previous marriage had been rushed and hasty, so now he was determined to do things differently.
He wanted to propose to her in the most meaningful and sincere way, to show her how much she meant to him.
To propose to her in a way that reflected the depth of his love and devotion.
"Sir, what about this one?" the jeweler said, his voice trembling as he pointed to an emerald ring.
He couldn't help but notice how Trey's gaze kept returning to that specific ring. Yet an hour had passed without Trey making a decision.
Beads of sweat had begun to form on his forehead as he waited for Trey to select either the ring that had caught his eye or any other.
Already, when he learned about coming here, the mere thought of meeting the almighty Trey Collins had his nerves on edge.
But then he had managed to stay composed up until now; he would say he was quite surprised himself.
However, as Trey asked in a flat voice,
“Is there somewhere else you'd rather be?"
The jeweler's anxiety skyrockets.
"No, no, no. Please take your time.” The jeweler said, his hands shaking uncontrollably, feeling weak in the legs. “We can spend the entire day. I don't mind at all."
He took off his glasses and nervously wiped them before running his fingers across his face to clear any sweat, and then he put the glasses back on.
Trey shifted his attention to the emerald ring, its vibrant green hue arousing memories of Martina's jade necklace.
A color that never failed to captivate him when adorning her.
"I'll purchase it, and I expect the customized pieces to be prepared as soon as possible."
"Absolutely, sir. We will strive to attain your request soon," the jeweler replied, as he silently added in his mind, 'even if your wedding ring design is as complex as you.'
Referring to the wedding rings Trey personally designed.

Back at the villa, Martina was lying on the plush sofa in Trey's study, surrounded by the intoxicating scent of ink and aged books.
She found herself oddly drawn to the intoxicating scent of ink and old books, so she settled in to bask in its calming and comforting atmosphere.
However, just as she was on the verge of drifting into slumber, her phone, resting on the floor, suddenly began to ring.
Startled, she sat up and retrieved the phone. She answered it and brought it to her ear.
“Hello, madam," an unfamiliar voice greeted from the other end of the line. She furrowed her brow in confusion. She has assumed it was Trey, who had been calling frequently to check on her since she answered the call without checking the caller ID.
"May I ask who I'm speaking with?"
"I'm the security personnel who approached you at the hospital parking lot two weeks ago." The voice on the other end identified himself.
"I see," Martina nodded and demanded, "So how may I help you?" she asked, prompting further conversation.
“Madam, the old master has been at the police station since after the meeting," the bodyguard informed.
"Why call me? Am I supposed to do something about it?" Martina questioned.
"No, madam. The old master thought it would be best for you to know he kept his promise, and he is also sorry," the bodyguard explained.
Martina let out a heavy sigh as a troubling thought crossed her mind. She realized that if the old master was at the police station for murdering someone, an investigation would expose his ties to the mafia world, which would mean incriminating Trey as well.
She wondered why she hadn't considered the possibility earlier.
"Which police station is he at?”

An hour later, Martina arrived at the police station. Unbeknownst to her, one of the informants Trey had stationed at the police station spotted her and promptly called Diego to report the situation.
Diego, in turn, relayed the news to Trey, who frowned upon hearing it.
"Get the car ready," Trey commanded, standing up from his seat and striding out of the office, taking long and intimidating strides to the elevator.

Martina made her way to the police front desk and asked about the old master.
Following her inquiry, she was escorted to an interrogation room where, after a brief wait, the old master entered.
"What did you tell them?" Martina asked, going straight to the point; she didn't want to waste time there.
She had promised Trey to inform him if she would leave the house. She didn't want him to find out she left without informing him.
After resolving their misunderstanding and discovering the truth about Lucas, she was determined not to do anything that could bring about a misunderstanding.
"That I instigated your parent's death," the old master answered, taking a seat.
"I thought about it, and I forgive you. I am here to plead for pardon on your behalf; you are my children's grandfather after all," Martina said, standing up.
"Thank you, I knew you had a kind heart," the old master said, and Martina smirked.
"That's where you got it wrong. I'm doing this for the sake of my family. I wouldn't want to destroy it with my thirst for revenge," Martina said and walked out.
A police officer walked up to her and escorted her to a small room where they recorded her statement for clemency on behalf of the old master.
After completing all the required formalities, she exited the police station but was startled to see a visibly agitated Trey, who was emerging from his car parked in front of the station.
“Trey?” She called out.
Trey glared at her with anger in his eyes as he stood there eyeing her coldly.
Despite his instructions not to leave the house without notifying him, she had gone against his command once again and chosen to do her own things.
But as furious as Trey was with Martina, he couldn't deny how beautiful she looked standing there.
His Jade was truly extraordinary; just the sight of her was able to calm him down.
Martina found herself unable to suppress a smile as she gazed at Trey.
His handsome, striking features still manage to captivate her even in the midst of his anger.
She missed him so much; she was yearning for his touch even when they had been apart for just a few hours.
His decision to begin attending the office three weeks ago had proved to be a success, as she constantly found herself yearning for his presence during his absence.
She hurriedly made her way down the stairs to meet him. However, just a few steps into her descent, Martina lost her footing and fell down the stairs.
"Jade!!" Trey yelled her name in panic as he rushed toward her.
As Martina rolled on the brink of consciousness, she heard Trey's panicked voice pierce through her ears as he sprinted towards her, his urgent voice echoing in the air.
"Jade!!" Before she lost herself to the darkness.
At that moment, the old master came out from the station in time to witness the unfolding scene.
“Damn it, I'm toasted,” he said.
