Chapter 119 The Wedding Banquet

The banquet was prepared at the hotel for a few of Michael's close acquaintances and a few of Valeria's friends, and it was exquisite.

Before joining the celebration, they both went to attend to the baby who was with Cristina in one of Margaret's rooms while she took care of the guests.

Ebony and an assigned staff member helped her with her dress so she could nurse the baby. After she did, Michael did what he usually did, burped the baby, and put him to sleep.

Afterward, Ebony's staff fixed her up and put her in a simpler but equally beautiful dress.

Next, they placed the wedding veil back on her to take some photos of her, Dubois, and the baby. There were several photo and video shots until the photographer told them they were ready.

Returning to the celebration, they had their first dance as husband and wife. Valeria felt like she was in a dream, the perfection of the moment was overwhelming, she rested her head on his chest, and he hugged her even tighter.

The intense emotion was palpable between the couple. It was a perfect day. On her hand were the wedding band and the engagement ring, and she smiled as she looked at Michael with all the love in her eyes.

"You look gorgeous, my love."

"I wanted to look attractive for you, just for you."

"My love, you are more beautiful to me than any words can express," he told her against her cheek and close to her ear. "To me, you are the most beautiful woman in the world, but I wanted to see you like this, in your wedding dress and what it represents. I love you more than I ever thought I could love anyone."

She touched his face, having dreamed of this moment for a long time. He was a handsome and sexy man, and he was completely hers. You only had to look into his eyes at this moment.

There was a moment when they went out to the terrace, and Dubois asked for the bracelet. It had become a ritual between them; every special moment in their life was reflected in the bracelet, and their wedding day was also a special day.

Valeria looked at the charm, which represented a miniature bride and groom. "I will always remember this special day; it is engraved in my heart."

"In mine too, my little doll. You will always be in my heart along with all the beautiful memories associated with you. I only regret not starting sooner."

"I feel the same, but I think there is an ideal time for everything."

"Well, it must be. To think that we worked together but didn't truly know each other, we didn't make any effort. It wasn't love at first sight, was it?"

"It was love at second sight," Valeria said jokingly.

"And here we are."

"Although I think I came out winning."

"Why?"

"I have a beautiful wife, a wonderful son, an incredible mother-in-law, a spectacular little sister, Cristina, and everything that came with you, including Margaret. We can't live without her now, and new friends."

"Yes, Margaret is special. Well, each of our friends is special."

"You know what Margaret told me?"

"What did she say? What crazy idea did she come up with now?"

"She told me that on your right leg, you have a garter. According to her, in some countries, it is customary for the man to remove it with his teeth or for the woman to willingly give it and throw it to the group of men."

"Did she tell you that?"
"Yes, but of course we won't do that. That garter has your scent, and no man is going to smell my woman, especially if it's on your leg near your intimate part, which belongs only to me. So, it's better if I take it off with my teeth tonight in our room."

"You're just as mischievous as Margaret."

"I've held back a lot, my love. That dress with the V-neckline, at first it bothered me that you were showing your beautiful breasts, but then I felt incredible. Many men admired you, but you only looked at me."

"I felt the same way. Many women looked at you, but at the end of the day, you'll go home with me and be only mine."

"You'll see, I'll prove it to you tonight. We can't go on our honeymoon just yet, but we'll plan a two or three-day trip."

"With Alejandro?"

"When he's six months old and his diet is expanded."

"That happened because we rushed things, we had the baby first."

"I wouldn't change anything about our lives. I like everything just as it happened. It's been an exciting journey."

"Young ones, sorry for the interruption, let's go to the toast. You'll have plenty of time to be alone," Margaret appeared.

"We're coming, Margaret," said Dubois. They hugged and kissed, then returned to the hall for the toast.

During the toast, each of the best men recalled many memorable moments shared with Michael Dubois. Only they knew him so well. Margaret, as the organizer, proposed a very emotional toast.

"A little while ago, I met Valeria, and the sweetness of this unparalleled woman won me over. The first thing she gave me was some cookies made by my great friend Rosalía, and I swear those cookies brought a lot of sweetness into my life. Valeria is an incomparable woman, and Michael has hit the jackpot. That love was rewarded with someone very special, their son Alejandro. When I met him, I was once again won over. If you see that baby, you will be too.

I witnessed how that great love grew. No one really knows how it started, I don't think even they do," she smiled, "but it kept growing and growing, and all of us around them watched it grow, marveling at the power of love. Seeing them once more, I have no doubt that love is wonderful, it helps us overcome, heal our wounds, and gives us the strength to live. So today, I am proud to call them my friends, and I wish them much happiness and a long life to enjoy it."

"Thank you, Margaret," said Michael and Valeria at the same time.

"We love you too, Margaret," Valeria said.

"This isn't a time to cry, it's a time to laugh with this beautiful couple and their gorgeous son, whom they have given me permission to call my grandson. So let's toast to them and their infinite happiness," Margaret said.

After the toast, they moved on to the cake, where they performed the traditional cutting.

The wedding cake was a design by Valeria, Rosalía, and Sofía, very traditional. It was made of five tiers of white fondant with a lace effect. This wedding cake was greatly admired by all the guests.

...

Later that night, a bit tired and at home, now called the Dubois House by everyone, in the intimacy of their room, only the kisses and whispers of the happy couple could be heard in the darkness.

Alejandro behaved very well this time, not starting to cry until the early morning. Nevertheless, they fed him, and he fell asleep right away.

"It's not been easy, all the preparations, feeding the baby, which means many sleepless hours, but we're doing well, very well."
