Chapter 36
When the news of Emerald being sentenced to fourteen years imprisonment got to Vanessa, Vanessa was startled. She was shocked as it took her by surprise.
She also heard that Christiana was alive and was in the hospital, she knew she needed to make some moves before she was caught, there was no way she was gonna end up being the loser.
Christiana had completed her project with Power international limited, she was relieved it was over but still had lingering thoughts. Does this mean she and Andrew would pathways? Considering how he had made sure to be professional when they spoke and how he avoided her like a plague and make sure to not stare at her for long.
It hurts her to see that the sparks once present in Andrews eyes were no longer there. There was hardly communication and he made sure not to invade her privacy.
She knew she had asked him to let go but he didn't have to take things this seriously!
John had gone back to Trinidad and Tobago with the aim of engaging the mother of his daughter, Christiana was more than thrilled by that. But before he left, he and Andrew made peace with one another and they looked forward to the future.
They had successfully launched their new company in Sydney, Australia, it was time for Andrew to go back to America. He had not told his father neither Rachael of the bitter truth his mother kept from them, he decided now was not the right time.
He feared his father would be hospitalized once he found out his wife had an extramarital affair and he feared he might lose his bubbly little sis to depression once she found out too.
No matter how he looked at it, he would always consider Racheal as his younger sister even if they were not from the same father.
He wanted to spend the last day in Sydney, Australia with his son Drew.
Whenever Christiana got a phone call from Andrew, her heartbeat raced erratically, these past few weeks, he maintained a civil relationship with her. He was distant and made sure their call was nothing more than work and his son.
Christiana hated that; she knew she told him to stay away but that doesn't mean he'd take it seriously, she wanted him to fight for her and for them, she wanted him to hold onto her tight but instead he spaced out.
She was hurt. She was still in love with him, and it would hurt her if he fell out of love. When she heard the bell jingling, she giggled in joy expecting Andrew, she intentionally wore shorts and crop top with some makeup on to seduce him when he came.
She knew it was childish of her, but she was going to win her man back. She smiled as she walked towards the door only to meet with an angry Vanessa.
Vanessa looked rugged and unkempt. She was in a black jumpsuit with messy hair, and her eyeliner was smeared. To top it all off, she reeked of alcohol.
Christiana was shocked, she wondered how Vanessa found her home, Vanessa was troubled just like Emerald. Before she could utter a word, Vanessa pushed her off the door, hurling words and dragging her hair.
"You can't steal my man, you hear me!" She dragged Christiana's hair pushing her to the floor as Christiana struggled to get back on her feet.
"I will kill you! You wrench! You are a man stealer and a gold digger. You won't have Andrew, I'm telling you, you won't!" She spat out dragging Christiana. Christiana struggled to balance herself while struggling to get Vanessa off her.
Drew heard the noise and rushed to the living room to meet his mother on the floor and another woman dragging her hair. "Get away from my mother!" He yelled.
Vanessa looked up to find a complete younger version of Andrew, she was stunned. She looked at Christiana once more and then at Drew, the thought that another woman gave birth to Andrew’s child made her angrier as she rushed to where Drew was, she removed the pocketknife from her pocket and pulled Drew closer to her, placing the knife on the slit of his throat.
Christiana gasped, "Let go of my son and I promise you can harm me," she pleaded. She would go crazy if anyone harmed her son.
"Please don't, get away from him, please."
Vanessa laughed hysterically, "As if I care! I will kill him! No one and I repeat, no woman can have a child for my Andrew!" She yelled.
Suddenly the door opened, and Andrew walked in, surprised to see Christiana on the floor and Vanessa with a knife on Drew's throat.
"Stop this Vanessa, don't be stupid!" He yelled. He was mad and at that moment all he wanted to do was to strangle Vanessa.
If something happened to Drew, he would make sure he hurt her a gazillion times more than she did.
"I won't hurt him, only if you marry me and kill him yourself!" She yelled.
She was insane! Andrew thought. Killing his son would be the last thing he does. Drew bit Vanessa on her wrist and tried to escape but she was quick as the knife sliced through his back and he screamed in pain.
"Andrew!" Both Christiana and Andrew Screamed, rushing off to where he was. Christiana was quick to bounce on Vanessa, punching her on her face and pulling her hair.
Andrew called the ambulance and also the police, he was finally going to get rid of Vanessa.
Christiana cried as Andrew consoled her assuring her that Drew was going to be alright. They had reached the hospital thirty minutes ago. While Christiana rushed into the ambulance with Drew, Andrew handed Vanessa to the police.
She wrapped her arms around his torso, wetting his shirt with her tears but he didn't care as it felt nice having her in his arms. "He will be alright," he assured her.
They both stayed in silence waiting for the doctor to come. "I'm worried, Andy, I do not want anything to happen to my son," Christina cried.
"It's going to be fine. Our son will be fine, he is a strong kid. I promise we will do the very best for him," Andrew assured her.
She sniffed, holding unto him tightly.
"Family of Andrew," a nurse called and both Andrew and Christiana turned to face her.
"He is alright. The cut wasn't deep, but the slit was long. It has been stitched properly," the nurse assured them.
"You can see him now," she tells them as Christiana rushed to see her son with Andrew behind her.
"Mummy," Drew called out as he saw his mother, she rushed to him and hugged him. "It's fine my baby, mummy is here." She wiped her tears, not wanting her son to see them.
"Daddy," he called for his father and Andrew walked close to the both of them and hugged them tight.
"Can I ask for a favor from the both of you?" Drew asked them.
Both Andrew and Christiana looked at one another wondering what it was Drew could demand from them.
They both nodded their head giving him a go ahead. "I want us to live together from now on."
To say they were both shocked would be an understatement, they never expected Drew to ask such from them although neither of them found the request hard to fulfil. In fact they wanted one another back in their lives and have been thinking of ways to go about it.
Christiana bit her lips before staring at Andrew and then and Drew, she always knew Drew was a very unique kid.
