Chapter 65 CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE.
Chapter 65 CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE.
Two people sat in bed, both looking pensive. One was lost in thought, dreading what she was about to do..open an envelope. The other was worried about her.
Julian Broody had planned everything. To celebrate how well their visit had gone, he'd plan on working Brianna's body...rocking it with pleasure to serve as a sweet climax to a beautiful day. They'd both had a very exciting day. They'd had no idea how it was going to go when they entered Brianna's childhood home which held a lot of bad memories. Their excitement at the outcome had therefore been great.
But the Brianna he'd left Yolanda Jackson's home with, was nothing like the excited woman he'd left with Yolanda, after helping to create that beautiful musical harmony. Julian had silently wondered what the problem was as they drove to their hotel. He wondered what had been said between mother and daughter after he'd left them to wait for Brianna outside, to have made Brianna so...glum. He'd decided to wait until they got to the hotel to ask. But as they waited silently for the first traffic light they got to, to turn green, Brianna had pulled a letter out of her pocket and shoved it at him.
"Who is it from?" Julian had asked quietly, staring at the name on the envelope.
"My father apparently wrote it to me before he died." Brianna had said quietly. "Gave it to my mum to give it to me if she ever saw me again."
"Fuck!" Julian had sworn under his breath just as the light turned green.
He'd held on to the letter until they'd entered their room. Then he'd placed it on the bedside table, stripped Brianna, and then pulled her into the bathroom for a long shower, together. Immediately after stepping out of the shower, Julian had told Brianna that he needed to go downstairs to take care of some calls, which even to his own ears, sounded like bullshit. He'd only wanted to give Brianna some privacy to read whatever her father had written to her. But Brianna had quietly told him to stay.
Still naked from their shower, Julian had gotten into the bed first, sat with his back against the headboard and his legs spread, and then beckoned Brianna to come and sit between his legs. Brianna had done exactly that, resting her back against Julian's front with a tired sigh. Julian had wrapped his arms around a somewhat tensed Brianna and just sat there with her until he'd felt her relax.
"You need to sleep." Julian said softly, dropping a kiss on Brianna's shoulder. Brianna hadn't slept at all the night before, on the yacht.
"I know." Came Brianna's quiet voice. "Please give me the letter." She breathed.
Julian reached out and picked up the letter. He hesitated for a moment before giving it to Brianna.
"I swear if that man..." Julian began in a growl but Brianna didn't let him finish.
"You can't do anything, Julian." Brianna said quietly, cutting Julian off. "He's already dead."
"Don't think I can't exhume that body." Julian muttered, scattering kisses along the back of Brianna's neck.
Brianna chuckled. "And what are you going to do with those old bones?"
"Burn it." Julian growled, making Brianna laugh softly.
"What are you now? A Winchester?" Brianna snorted.
"Who... Sam and Dean Winchester. They're...never mind." Brianna sighed. "It's not like the reverend is going to feel that burn all the way in...wonder where he is now."
"It will make me feel better even if he doesn't feel it." Julian watched as Brianna slowly began to break the seal on the letter. "Hey, calm down." He whispered when he saw how badly Brianna's hands shook.
Brianna paused after she opened the envelope and just took deep breaths. Then she raised her right hand to hold Julian's head, turned her head and took Julian's mouth in a fierce kiss. Julian felt not only desperation, but also violence in that kiss. He didn't kiss back with that same fervor but rather, softened his response and allowed Brianna to dominate the kiss...steer it however she wanted it. His woman needed that and Julian gave it to him. By the time the kiss ended, Julian's lips felt bruised but he didn't mind at all. Brianna seemed calmer and that was all that mattered.
Without a word, Brianna released Julian's head, reached into the envelope and pulled out the letter. It was a two-page letter, written in her father's bold handwriting. She began to read;
