An Interesting Day.
An Interesting Day.
Alina
If someone had told me this morning that I’d end the day covered in glitter, smelling like cheap champagne that was splashed on me and vanilla perfume, with a bag of sex toys and lace in the backseat… I’d have told them to seek medical help. But here I am. The car hums softly beneath us as the lights of the city blur past, and Isla’s humming along to some pop song on the radio like she didn’t just completely corrupt me in the span of six hours. My cheeks still ache from laughing. I don’t remember the last time I laughed that much, probably never. It was insane. Coffee that could wake the dead. Lingerie that made me blush so hard I thought I’d combust. A sex shop that smelled like cherries and sin. And the strip club… oh, Bean. One day, I’ll deny every bit of this if you ever ask. But God, it was fun. It was loud and wild and unhinged. The kind of day my father would have a heart attack over, which only makes it better. Isla’s completely insane. My kind of insane. Maybe, for the first time in my life, I’ve actually made a friend.
As we turn up the long drive, I can already see them, my guys. They're sitting up on the porch, beers in hand, laughter between the group. The moment the car crunches over the gravel, they all look up, blink, then instinctively check their watches like a synchronised act. Oh boy. By the time we roll to a stop, they’re already coming toward us. Kaiden’s out front, that half-smirk, half-worried look on his face.
“Where have you been all day, little fighter?” he asks as he opens my door, with one hand on his hip.
“Out,” I say with a sweet smile. “Being a girl.”
Hunter’s slower, but his eyes have already caught on to the bags sitting in the backseat. Before I can even blink, he opens the door and snatches them up.
“Hunter, wait—”
Too late. He peeks inside, then back at me, then down into the bag again. A wicked grin curls across his face. “I think our girl had some fun today.”
Kaiden’s curiosity sparks instantly. He grabs the second bag and takes off up the porch like a thief.
“Kaiden! Don’t—”
He twirls out of my reach, rummages through the delicate lace and silk, and then stills. Slowly, he turns back toward me, hunger flickering behind those pretty blue eyes. “Holy shit, baby…”
I’m halfway between mortified and proud.
Behind me, Isla’s cackling so hard she’s doubled over. “And that is my cue to leave.”
Mason’s trying to argue, saying, “But wait! She hasn’t even seen the nursery yet!”
Isla wipes a tear from her eye and smirks. “Oh, trust me, she’s not seeing anything but stars tonight.”
Hunter groans, Kaiden chuckles low, and I bury my face in my hands.
Mason and Nico exchange confused looks but follow Isla back to their car anyway, Mason shouting over his shoulder, “Let me know if she likes the room!”
I glance up at my two men still standing there, those damn bags dangling from their hands, and sigh.
“I am never going shopping with Isla again,” I mutter, and both of them just grin.
I watch Isla’s taillights disappear down the drive, and the second Hunter’s head turns to wave, I strike. I snatch the bag straight out of his hand, bolt toward Kaiden, grab his too, and run full speed for the front door. I can hear them shouting behind me, Kaiden’s half-laugh, half-growl, “Oh, she’s asking for it,” and Hunter’s, “You better run, kitten!”
I skid to a stop the moment I hit the kitchen. The smell is fucking delicious. Something rich and savoury, buttery and spiced just right. My stomach growls so loud it echoes. That one second of distraction is all Kaiden needs. He swoops up beside me, grin smug and victorious, bag dangling from his fingers. “Jesus Christ, Alina,” he says, peeking inside. “Where did you two go today? Buttons and buzzers galore?”
“Don’t you judge me,” I huff, crossing my arms as if that’ll hide my burning cheeks.
Hunter steps in behind me, his presence warm, steady. “Hungry, kitten?”
I nod, biting my lip. He chuckles, the sound deep and sinful, and before I can react, his hands are at my waist, lifting me effortlessly up onto the counter. “Dinner’s not ready for about half an hour…” His voice drops lower, rougher. “…maybe I could distract you somehow?”
Kaiden laughs quietly, setting the bag down on the counter beside me, his gaze trailing slowly over my face, my neck, and to my chest. “Oh, I think I could help with that.”
Kaiden steps closer to my side, close enough that the heat of him seeps through the thin fabric of my pants. Hunter’s hands stay firm on my hips, thumbs tracing slow, teasing circles that make it hard to think, harder to breathe. The only sound is the bubbling sauce from the stove and the steady rhythm of our breaths tangling together. Kaiden brushes a stray strand of hair behind my ear, fingertips skimming my jaw before resting against the side of my neck. His eyes search mine for something...
“You’re ours,” he whispers.
Hunter leans in, his breath warm against the base of my throat. “Always ours.”
The words shouldn’t make me feel safe, but they do. Maybe it’s because when they look at me like this, I don’t feel like the broken, dangerous thing my father made. I feel like me. Just a girl with two men who somehow see past all the chaos. Kaiden’s hand slides to my cheek, guiding my face toward him, and I meet his kiss halfway. It’s soft and sweet until Hunter’s hands move again, and my body arches between them without thinking. I can taste the remnants of alcohol on Kaiden’s tongue, and his cologne smells just as delicious as dinner. Hunter’s breath catches in front of me, and I turn to him next. His kiss is different; it's deep and steady. My hands find his shoulders, my fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt like I might fall without him. The world narrows, the lights blur, and time slows as the heat in the moment builds. Kaiden’s palm presses over my breast, tenderly, before his thumb and forefinger flick and pinch at my nipple, making me gasp into Hunter's mouth. His lips leave mine and trail along my neck, and somewhere between their touches, I forget where one of us ends and the other begins. All I know right now is that I need more. I need them.
