Slutty Dom wife (chapter 4)
Slutty Dom wife (chapter 4)
"Yeying! How dare you come back here after refusing to marry Henry?" her father thundered, his voice shaking the room like a gong.
"Do not raise your voice at my granddaughter," her grandfather snapped, his voice just as firm, but laced with an icy authority that instantly silenced the room.
Kai stood by the door, momentarily stunned.
So this was what it was like inside the Lin household.
It was clear..unmistakably…that Faye and her father were constantly at odds. Like him, she was stubborn. Like him, she fought everything that tried to control her.
"I never said I refused," Faye retorted, yanking her hand out of Kai's grasp. She turned on her heels and strode toward her grandfather, standing protectively beside his chair. "I just said I needed time."
Her grandfather gave her a reassuring pat on the hand, but his gaze never left her father…a silent warning.
Faye's father scoffed, then turned to Kai, eyes narrowing. "Who is this young man? Have you been sneaking around, disgracing our family name?"
Kai stepped forward, composed. While Faye looked as though she were about to combust, he remained calm…dangerously calm.
"Kai Parsons," he said with a bow, voice crisp.
The room went still.
Faye's father's eyes widened in disbelief, then narrowed in instant calculation. The Parsons name carried weight…deadly, dangerous, influential weight.
"Parsons," he repeated, more to himself. The first of the Four Great Families. The family that owned half the city…and had dirt on the other half.
Kai kept his gaze steady. "I want to marry your daughter."
Faye's head snapped toward him.
"What?!" she barked. Her cheeks flushed in disbelief and fury. "Who says I want to marry you?"
Kai barely flinched. "That doesn't change what I want."
Her father glared between the two. "Is this some kind of joke? Faye, what the hell is going on?"
"Nothing is going on," she snapped. "Kai is just an entitled bastard who doesn’t know the meaning of 'no.'"
Kai smirked slightly. "Entitled? Maybe. But I don't take what isn't mine."
Faye's grandfather cleared his throat, drawing the tension back into his court.
"Faye," he said calmly, "come sit down."
She obeyed, seating herself beside him, casting a death glare at Kai.
"And you," the old man turned to Kai, "you say you want to marry my granddaughter. Are you truly serious, or is this one of your little mafia power plays?"
Kai stood taller, spine straight as a blade. "I'm deadly serious. I want her. Not just for a day. I want her as my wife."
Faye choked on air.
"Your wife?" she snapped. "You arrogant, delusional psycho…I just got my life back and you want to chain me again?"
"I'm not asking to chain you," Kai said calmly. "I'm asking for a future. With you."
Faye's father stood from his seat. "You think just because you're a Parsons you can waltz into my house and claim my daughter like a trophy?"
Kai met his glare without blinking. "No. I'm saying I care about her. And that I've waited six years for her. Longer than anyone else."
Her grandfather raised a brow. "You knew each other before?"
Faye looked away.
"Yes," Kai answered. "I left her once. I won't make that mistake again."
Faye's jaw clenched. She could feel everyone's eyes on her, but it was her grandfather's stare that weighed the most.
"Faye," he said quietly. "What do you want?"
She hesitated.
"I want to choose. For myself. I don't want Henry. I don't want a deal sealed over tea and handshakes. I want a real choice."
Her grandfather nodded slowly.
"Then make one."
Her father hissed in frustration. "Father, this is outrageous…"
"Silence," the old man said without looking at him. "She's not livestock."
Kai stepped forward again. "Give me a chance to prove I'm worthy of her."
Faye looked at him, then back to her grandfather.
"Fine," she said coldly. "One chance. One."
Kai smirked, satisfied.
"But," she added, standing, "if you pull any mafia nonsense or try to take control of my life, I will put you back in a hospital."
He grinned. "Noted."
Her grandfather chuckled under his breath. "You two are either going to destroy each other or change the world."
Kai extended his hand toward her.
Faye stared at it, then rolled her eyes. "I’m not touching you in front of my family."
"Then let me at least walk you out."
She huffed, but didn’t argue.
As they walked to the courtyard, Kai leaned down and whispered in her ear. "I meant every word. I want to make you mine."
"Then stop playing games and start acting like someone I can actually trust."
He grinned. "I already do. You just don't see it yet."
She pushed him lightly and kept walking, ignoring the fact that her heart had skipped a beat.
Faye walked ahead of Kai, chin up, jaw set, pretending that her entire world hadn’t just been spun like a roulette wheel. He was too close behind her, his presence like heat on the back of her neck. She tried to shake it off, to keep walking, to pretend that her heart wasn’t thundering against her ribs like a war drum.
Then, just as they reached the steps that led to the courtyard, a voice rang out.
"Yeying!"
Faye stiffened.
Kai halted beside her, the smile instantly wiped off his face.
"Faye Yeying Lin!"
She turned slowly, dread pooling low in her stomach.
There he was.
Henry Zhu.
Standing in the middle of the paved courtyard in a sleek designer suit, hair slicked back, sunglasses in hand. He looked like something off a polished political campaign, but the tension in his jaw and the fire in his eyes were anything but calm.
"So it’s true," Henry said, voice low but carrying. "You really are back."
Faye said nothing. Her fingers curled into fists at her sides.
Henry walked forward, his polished shoes echoing against the stone. He stopped just a few feet away from them, his eyes landing on Kai with venom.
"And this? This is the bastard you left me waiting for?"
Kai’s lips curled in a half-smile. "Easy there, Zhu. You sound jealous."
Henry stepped forward. "I don’t get jealous. I reclaim what’s mine."
Faye stepped in. "I am not yours. We were arranged. That was it."
Henry looked at her like she’d slapped him. "You agreed. You accepted. You said you needed time, but you didn’t say you were running back to some mafia dog."
Kai’s jaw ticked. "Careful."
Henry ignored him, stepping closer to Faye. "You’re mine, Faye. I won’t step aside for him. I won’t let you be manipulated again by the man who walked out on you when you needed him most."
Faye’s eyes narrowed. "That’s not your decision to make."
Henry turned to Kai. "You think you can come back and just erase everything? Just because you’re a Parsons? I don’t give a fuck who your father is."
Kai stepped forward slowly, his eyes locked on Henry like a hawk spotting prey. "You should."
Henry squared his shoulders. "She’s my fiancée."
"She’s not a thing to be owned."
"You think you’re better than me? You think money, power, connections make you worth her? You don’t even know who she is anymore."
Kai didn’t flinch. "I know who she was before you tried to shape her into something she wasn’t."
Faye, caught between them, let out a sharp breath. "Enough! Both of you. This isn’t a fucking pissing contest."
Henry reached for her hand. "Faye, just come with me. You know we were supposed to be together. You knew it when our parents arranged it."
She yanked her hand away. "I know I don’t belong to anyone. Not my father. Not you. Not even him." She threw a hand in Kai’s direction. "If you think I’ll just nod and smile and let you both battle over me like I’m some goddamn prize, you don’t know me at all."
Kai tilted his head. "Then tell him."
Henry's jaw clenched. "I won’t back down."
Kai's voice dropped to a whisper. Deadly. Controlled. "Neither will I."
Faye stood between them, furious and flushed and trembling with the weight of it all. Her past. Her future. The war between legacy and choice. But she knew one thing…she wasn’t going to be anyone’s pawn.
Her grandfather had given her that freedom. And she was going to use it.
She looked Kai dead in the eye. "You said one chance, right?"
He nodded.
"Then don't fuck it up."
She turned to Henry. "And you?"
He waited, lips parted.
"We're done. You need to move on."
He looked like she'd struck him.
"Faye…"
"Goodbye, Henry."
She turned and walked off, Kai falling into step beside her.
Henry watched them go, fists clenched at his sides.
But this wasn't over.
Not even close.
