Seconds later my t-shirt and jeans were floating in the water. I loved the feel of his skin against mine. Melting into him I let him carry me away from reality where there were no monsters or crazy prophecies or angry black chickens. There was just me and him. Holding on tightly I looked up at the stars and prayed I could stay in this moment forever. Our passions climaxed and I floated hazily in the water. Rayne pulled me close,

"We need to go and check on Stephanie and the others."

"My clothes are soaking wet." I sighed but before I could blink Rayne teleported us back into our bedroom. Rayne carefully placed me on the bed. Sleepily I yawned,

"I'm so tired."

"Tomorrow we will seek Kala and Jac."

"What about Aidan?"

"I returned him to his pack. Poor guy was really torn up over Stephanie."

"I think he expected too much too soon."

"She was his soul mate. How would you feel if I cheated on you?"

"Devastated."

"Exactly."

"But I'm different. Stephanie has been severely depressed and suicidal for the last few months then suddenly she is turned into immortal. She is liberated. Her hair grows back, guys are attracted to her, and she feels good about herself and suddenly she wants to have a good time. But then Aidan comes along and wants to chain her down."

"Do you think I chained you down?"

"No. You released me from my chains and that's why I love you so much."

"I still think Stephanie acted like a spoilt little wanton."

"Do you think Aidan will forgive her?"

"I don't know." Rayne replied.

Her Imperial Highness Queen Sophia POV

My husband Casper the great King of the Vampires was absent from court today. Why? Because he couldn't be bothered to get out of bed. Watching him blissfully asleep completely unaware of the horrible evening I had because of his lie in. Court had not gone well today. My proposed idea of a society of equal opportunities went down like a lead balloon. All the old stuck up aristocrats laughed off my ideas and my position as Queen. All of them thought the King should have married a vampire that was born a vampire- not bitten like I was. Unsupported and out numbered I was jeered out of the court. If Casper had gotten his lazy ass out of bed and helped me things would have gone better. I grabbed a pillow and threw it at his head. His body jerked up, blonde hair spilling over his face, heavy lashed eyes gazed sleepily up at me. I stood at the foot of the bed arms folded across my chest frowning at him. Casper gulped.

"How was court?" he asked feebly.

I grabbed another cushion and flung it at him. He ducked quickly and avoided impact.

"Where were?" I said.

"Here, asleep." He said.

"You should have been down stairs with me, facing the court as a united front. I got massacred in their today. No one wants to listen to the bitten Queen. I got laughed out of court Casper."

"I'm sorry baby."

"You have no idea how bad it was."

"Babe if they upset you I will have their heads placed on spikes outside the castle and I mean that."

"I don't want anybody dead, I just want you to get out of bed sometimes."

"Come here." Casper said.

Reluctantly I walked over to the edge of the bed. Casper grabbed my arm and pulled me into bed next too him.

"You should have stayed in bed too. I was really disappointed when I woke up and found an empty space next to me." he said,

"Casper, I'm so pissed off with you right now nothing you do or say is charming."

"What if I kissed you?"

"Your face would feel the back of my hand."

"Threats of violence? You must be mad."

"Don't mock me."

"I'm not, I just find you very sexy when you get cross."

"I don't feel sexy. I feel really pissed off that you couldn't be there for me just this one time."

"Aw come on Sophie don't bust my balls over this."

"Fine, if you're not going to take this seriously Casper then I'm not sleeping in this bed tonight." I said jumping off the bed before Casper could catch me. Casper got out of bed wrapping the bed sheet around his waist following me across the room.

"Sophie, Sophie-" he called after me.

I left the room seething. Casper stood in the doorway of the bedroom calling after me,

"Sophie come back and talk. I have no pants on, I'm not going to chase you through the castle naked." he said.

"You should wear pyjama's to bed like a normal human being."

"Maybe I'll borrow your duck night shirt!"

"You could if you hadn't burnt it to the ground like all my other possessions." I yelled over my shoulder.

Casper was a powerful vampire but he was also an emotional vampire. When we first met he threw a little temper tantrum that resulted in our house being burnt to the ground. I lost everything petty much, including my over sized duck night shirt my grandma had brought me. I stomped down the corridor and bumped into a familiar face. Nico, the captain of the guards and a close friend.

"Lover's tiff." He asked.

"You have no idea what I have to put up with. Have you had any news from Owen?"

In the beginning when I first turned into a vampire Casper kept me away from the court. He didn't even tell me he was a King. We all lived together in a house with Nico his body guard and Owen his best friend. Owen was a legend. I remember him sliding down the banister in my b-ra and fighting with Casper. I loved him to pieces but he ran away. It's a complicated story but I ended up going to this vampire school where I met Christie who was engaged to this tool called Rudolph- it was an arranged marriage neither one wanted to marry the other. So at the school there was this big ball and Rudolph decided to publically snub Christie by not asking her to the ball. Owen decides to be a hero and asks Christie to the ball. Then at the ball everything exploded. Rudolph and Owen got into a fight and Owen announced he was stealing Christie away from Rudolph- and no one has seen Owen or Christie since. Owen asked Casper's permission but Casper refused. Owen is the original man-ho, he is by no stretch of the imagination monogamous. Currently we have Nico and the whole guard searching for them.

"Nothing, we hear reports here and there but Owen is evading our efforts." Nico replied.

"Crap. Keep looking. I love Owen but he is going to break Christie's heart."

"We shall keep looking but in the meantime Jac and Kala have returned have arrived." Nico smiled.
