Chapter 38

We had a hectic week. We were busy with the project. Thankfully we completed our work before the estimated date and time; thanks to Nick I got time to have a nap even in the midst of the busy schedule. I have to go shopping to get the things mostly the cooking ingredients, it is almost been two months that I tried my new recipes, this weekend I’ll definitely do that. Mr. First laughed at my wish, I have to make him feel bad by making an amazing recipe. I messaged him about going to the grocery store, he didn’t reply, if he doesn’t come with me, I’ll go by myself. I am ready, where the hell is he; I hate to wait when I am with the flow.

“Ell, can I ask you a question?” Mike asked

“Tell me Mike” what does he want now?

“Are you really not in relation with Jacob?” why is he behind my relation with Jacob?

“How many times should I tell you mike. No, I'm not”

“Whoa, if you are not fine but, why are you shouting”

“I’m not shouting” my phone buzzed

“Where are you?”

“Outside your office ma’am” I started

“Bye Ell” I’m not going to say bye to him.

He is waiting for me

“Hello ma’am” I didn’t say anything just went straight into the car.

“What happened to your Mom” he placed his hand on my stomach and said, what the hell, he is involving our baby

“What?”

“Nothing ma’am. Where should we go?”

“Grocery store” we started. Why the hell is he involving the baby, ‘Don’t listen to him dear your father is joking’. We reached the grocery store

“Ma’am, can I come with you” I nodded; why is he behaving like this, he hugged me from behind and kissed my cheek “What happened Mrs. First?”

“Nothing” he hugged me tightly and turned me around facing him and kissed.

“Come let’s go shopping”

We went inside. He was in his formals, gathering all the ingredients. He looks so home piece.

“Need any other things?” he asked

“What is the other thing that is needed?”

“How would I know?” he looked at me puzzled. Why?

“You know cooking so..” he laughed

“Yes I know how to cook but I don’t do the shopping” what?

“Then how do you get the grocery?”

“Violet takes care of that” who is she? He had a girl to take care of. I didn’t see any one other than him at his place “she looks after my house” oh that is the reason why his house is clean but I didn’t see her “You too don’t have to worry if you are with me” fuck he is asking me to move in with him, wait does he

“Do you love me?” I asked, his expressions changed

“Why are you asking that suddenly?”

“Just answer”

“Do you?”

“No”

“Do you want me to?”

“No”

“Then no, let’s go” how can everything be so simple and easy with him.

Actually I am free today; I should have taken leave, I am a fool, a ridiculous insane. I am tensed; I don’t know what will happen; today we are going to the hospital for my check up. I’m in my third month now, doctor said by this month we can see the changes in the baby. I want my child to be with me, I don’t want to lose him. I want him. When will it be five, I have to leave.

“Are you tensed?” Mr. First asked

“A bit” no freaking out!!!! I smiled

“We’ll be fine and the baby will be too” he pressed my hand with his and smiled. I hope that to happen. ‘Please baby be strong mommy loves you and wants you. Be with mommy’.

We reached the hospital. Doctor has done some tests, she said something called Trimester. In the whole process of testing I’m praying for my baby’s growth. Please God, please. The tests were done and we sat on the chairs.

“Don’t worry” he said, how can I not be. Please god, I’ve never asked you anything and I’ll never ask you anything please, give my child to me; this is the only thing I want from you. I’ve never asked anything from god, this is the first time I’ve been asking and torturing him from two days. I hope my torturing and prayers works. Please god.

Doctor came and sat on her chair.

“Doctor” Mr. First asked, looks like he is tensed too.

“Congratulations Mr. Powell and Elena, the baby is safe, the chances of miscarriage dropped considerably” Thank you god, thank you so much, you really heard my prayers. ‘Thank you baby love you so much’ I am happy, I’m walking on clouds “You have to take some precautions” I nodded. My right hand, something is gripping it is hard, I looked at my hand it is Mr. First’s hand he is holding my hand tightly. What happened? I turned my face to his. He had a straight face but his eyes were almost tearing. Holy fuck, I think he is holding my hand the whole time. I didn’t know that. I didn’t even feel that, yeah I was busy praying for the baby but, why? Wait he is happy, he too has gone through what I had. Of course he would, he is the father. I didn’t know he is hiding his feelings the whole time. So cute, I want to pinch his dimpled cheeks no Ell, you are in the hospital. I placed my other hand on his gripping hand and patted. He looked at me with an unknown facial expression. Doctor asked me to follow the food diet she has given and insisted me to take adequate rest. I’m in heavens I want to go home and want to celebrate it. Wait

“Can I see the baby?”

“Of course you can” she smiled. I stood up and was about to go to the bed, Mr. First pulled my hand, I turned back

“I’ll come with you” he said, I nodded. I slept on the bed she asked me to, he stood beside the bed holding my hand. This is a new feeling, my baby, me and the father together. She took the same remote like thing she used the first time and placed it on my stomach. I looked into the screen. There is something moving inside, it almost like a round tiny, cute, little rabbit without ears. Wait, that’s my baby, he is growing. His size increased. He is almost formed into a human. Thank you so much god.

“Want to hear his heart beat?”Doctor asked. Can I hear that, I nodded. I’m crying no, they are happy tears. She did some turning and stuff “Lub-Dub… Lub-Dub” I’m hearing his heart beat, OMG I’m hearing him. I was never this happy, thank you so much. No, I should thank Mr. First for giving me this experience. I looked at him, he is involved in the screen and the beat, his eyes were wet, he is crying too. Oh Mr. First we did it, he turned to me and I gave him a happy nod. We are happy ‘thank you baby, thank so much for coming into our lives’. We went back to our seats.

“Thank you Dr. Brown” he thanked. She nodded with a smile. He was right we were in great hands. They talked something I didn’t understand, one thing I understood was he also funds for pregnant ladies and children health. So she knew him before, I was right, my intuitions were right. We thanked her again and we started.

We are in the car he didn’t leave my hand in the hospital and even now while driving he is holding my hand.

“Thank you Mrs. First, thank you for making me a dad”

“Thank you Mr. First for making me a mother” we both laughed. We are happy.

“What do you want to do now?”

“Celebrate!!!” I shouted

“Let’s celebrate” he kissed my knuckles.

We reached home; I shared this happy news with Nat and Nick. She is happy; I told her how the baby looked like. We were on clouds nine. A drink is definitely required now. I took a glass and sat on the couch. I was about to drink

“Mrs. First don’t even think about it, we’ve just came out of the danger zone, please” he pulled my hand

“Only one Mr. First” I pleaded. Why am I pleading him?

“Okay fine but, only one” he warned, come on Mr. First we are happy let me enjoy the moment. I had a glass. I took another and started

“Ell stop, you and I both know what comes out when you drink” Nat warned

“Come on Nat” I rolled my eyes. Fuck! Mr. First is here; he’ll join her and will stop me. The fucking parenting comes now.

“Ell” Nat warned me again

“It’s okay Nat let her, I’m here” he said. What, he is supporting me. Just before this he warned me and now he is supporting. Okay, thank you. Nat smiled and turned to me with a warning look. Now you can’t stop me Nat; I gave her a wicked smile. I continued my second glass.
