Chapter sixteen.

Wilfred pov

My eyes narrowed when the guard entered in haste and he was out of breath.

I quickly put on my clothes while Shayna does the same reluctantly.

"Don't you have some manners, how can you interrupt your alpha and future Luna, do you have a death sentence", shayna thundered.

"I am so sorry alpha, but this is an urgent matter, something alarming is going on and I need to report to the alpha".

"Where is my second in command, I asked, expecting to see the beta around if the matter was truly persisting".

"He is nowhere to be found".

I raised my brows in confusion and somewhat in annoyance.

Shayna was about to say something again but I immediately shut her off with my cold aura.

"What's the problem?"I asked curtly with my solemn voice and my rigid face showing my serious face.

"There ...is .. The guard stammered which irritated me to the core. What a pussy, I muttered under my breath".

"You know what,take me to the place of concern", I said to the guard, afterall I wasn't that heartless as Myra will often declare.

"Yes alpha", the guard bowed again to show courtesy, before walking out while I followed behind and shayna followed suit.

We walked past the corridor hurriedly, before entering into the garden, where I was met with the most disastrous image.

"Ahhhhhh," Shayna screamed as her eyes widened while covering her mouth.

Who could have done this? I looked at the dead body of one of my most trusted guards,mike. His head was cut off and on his body left a mark. It was the familiar mark of the murderer.

Is he back, I thought in my jumbled mind but my face remained unpredictable.

I growled in anger as my wolf threatened to take over, I couldn't let him come out, he would only destroy things further. I controlled myself before I heard the thud sound.

The sound of Shayna's body coming in contact with the floor brought me out of my dangerous trans.

I quickly ran to hold her while shaking her slowly, but there was no response. I motioned for one of the guards to come.

"Take her to the pack's doctor and make sure she gets better", I ordered while the guard immediately adhered to my order.

I squinted my eyes while looking at the image for the second time.

"That took Myra's parents' life. Her life is in danger, he said, extremely devastated and his voice containing disbelief.

I rolled my eyes, forgetting that my wolf couldn't resist Myra's black magic.

"She betrayed us max, how many times will I have to remind you".

"There is no place for Myra, in our life, and I don't certainly care if she died"

"You have no conscience, if you can't protect her then at least tell her the truth behind her parents death". He snorted before cutting me off the mind link.

I felt relieved, I was tired of his little bantering.

I turned to the guards, "tell the beta to meet me now". They stood like idiots that were confused.

Now!! I shouted in my alpha tone not caring about how they found him.

In the study room, Beta Ray stood in front of me together with Gamma Sam.

Ray looked disoriented as if he was thinking of something else.

"Where were you?", I asked while looking at him intently, to notice any lie.

"I had an urgent family matter". His voice came out gruff and in haste. I looked at him for a few minutes but he did not show any cowardly attitude.

"Have you heard and seen what happened?".

"Yes alpha", they both responded in sync.

"Good, do you have an idea who it could be".

With puzzled faces, Beta Ray responded. "The only suspect at hand is Alpha Damien of the good moon pack, he probably wants revenge".

I thought as much, it was probably that ass hole who is trying to exact revenge after what I did to his brother.

"Okay, I want the mating ceremony between me and shayna to take place as soon as possible. And send this note to Alpha Richard". Alpha Richard was my strongest ally and best friend.

With his power and mine no one in their wildest dreams can think of messing with me. Do they have a death wish?.

I wanted the ceremony to take place as soon as possible, because a pack without an official Luna is considered weak. I hated the word weak. It makes me want to puke.

Shayna was a strong wolf, although she is related to Myra, being that she is her cousin, she is not a weak omega like her.

Okay you can leave now, make sure my messages start to take effect.

And lastly, I suddenly remembered one last thing. "Order landon to Release Myra and her pup from prison". The house needs more workers to prepare for the big day. My face was solemn as different thoughts came to my mind.

Would Myra be jealous if she hears I'd be getting together with shayna. Does she still love me? I thought somehow hoping that would be the case before shaking my head aggressively, earning a suspicious look from my beta and gamma.

"Yes alpha", my gamma responded this time, slightly bowing his head and leaving while the beta followed suit.

I relaxed my back while my mind wandered back to the scene. I picked up my phone to call Richard to inform him about the letter I sent, but I was suddenly shocked to see a concerning message pop up.
