Chapter 80 I Found Her
"Hmm, I think I need to make a call to someone," Susan said and retrieved her phone from her bag.
She quickly dialled Devon's number and waited for the call to connect.
"Hmm," Susan heard a voice.
"Mr Moore, Bryce is at it again. Today, he had an email circulated in the company that Angela Anderson is on sick leave. He is still looking for her, and that means he would not go through with the engagement," Susan cried on the phone.
"Ah! So you are the one feeding my husband with this information?" Patricia replied to Susan, and Susan removed the phone from her ears to check who she had called.
Mr Devon Moore was displayed on the phone screen. She had called the right person, but Patricia had answered.
"I am sorry, Mrs Moore. Mr Moore tasked me with monitoring your son. I am only doing my job," Susan defended.
"I see," Patricia said. "This should be the last time you call my husband," she warned and ended the call.
"Bitch!" Susan cursed and tossed the phone back into her bag.
A&J Group
Zora was behind his desk when she remembered the vacancy she promised to ask about for Angelina. She stood up from behind her desk and headed for the recruitment officer's office. She knocked and entered.
"Good morning, how are you doing?" Zora greeted and made herself comfortable.
"Good morning, Zora," Fabian greeted, staring at Zora briefly before returning his gaze to what he was working on.
"About the procurement officer position. I have a friend. She is more like a sister. She is good, but did nothing on procurement. Can she come for the interview?" Zora asked, and Fabian raised his head to stare at her.
"If she did nothing on procurement, what is she coming to do in the interview?" Fabian asked, staring at Zora.
"She is good in any field. She is gifted. Just give her a chance to come for an interview, and you will see she is good," Zora convinced
"Zora, people are gifted with so many things; procurement is not gifted," Fabian said.
"Awwww, come o Fabian. She is good. See, just one interview," Zora convinced, and Fabian stared at Zora, making a puppy face.
"Do you know you don't look cute when you do that to your face?" Fabian commented, and Zora frowned.
"You know I am just making an effort," Zora said.
"Fine, bring her in for the interview. If she passes, fine. If not, bye," Fabian said.
"Thank you, Fabian. Lunch is on me," Zora said as she jumped to her feet and soon happily exited the office.
"I sometimes wonder how old she is," Fabian commented after Zora was gone.
Zora returned to her desk and grabbed her phone. She quickly dialled Angela's number, and Angela answered quickly.
"Hey, what were you waiting for my call?" Zora asked.
"Not really, I was just playing with my phone," Angela replied.
"I see," Zora replied. "Anyway, I have good news for you," she said. "You can come for the interview," she said and wanted to squeal but kept her voice down.
"Thank you, Zora," Angela said happily. "Do get me the disguise. I would need it going out of the house," she said.
"Don't worry. I'll get you a short wig and a pair of glasses. That should change your look a little," Zora said. "I have some food in the fridge. You can have it when you are hungry. There are some ingredients you can prepare something else if you don't like the food in the fridge," she added.
"Thank you, Zora," Angela said, and the call ended.
The day went by, and it was soon closing time for Zora.
At Diamond Corporation, Bryce got his stuff and left his office for the garage.
"Any news on Angela?" Bryce asked getting into the car.
"Sir, we have three locations of people who fit Ms Anderson's description. I will have confirmation at nightfall," Marcus replied.
"Good," Bryce said, happy that they were finally getting somewhere with the search.
The car took off, and soon they were on their way to the estate. Bryce arrived at the estate and was happy there was no drama waiting for him. He went up to his room, showered and tried calling Angela again, but his number remained blocked.
At 8 p.m., Bryce called Marcus for an update on Angela's location.
"Sir, we are back to the beginning. None of the people found was Ms Anderson," Marcus replied.
"Marcus, you are too slow. Speed up the search," Bryce said and ended the call.
Bryce went to bed skipping dinner.
The next day, Angela got ready and left with Zora for the A&J Group. A company that deals in building materials manufacturing.
Upon arrival, Zora took Angela straight to Fabian's office.
"Good morning, Fabian, this is Angela Anderson," Zora introduced, and Fabian stared at Angela in a daze.
