Chapter 50 Movie Premiere - Part 3
After all that hard work, the first movie premiere was just a day away. They have scheduled another premiere two days after the first one at another cinema. It was the biggest cinema.
Angela got everything ready, ensuring all that needed to be done had been done. No stone is left unturned.
Back at Susan's apartment, Eva had come to visit, and the two went into a discussion.
"Are we putting Angela's pictures up for this movie premiere?" Eva asked.
"No, let's do that during the second movie premiere. The chosen cinema for the second movie premiere is very big. The crowd will be huge. I understand the paparazzi will be there, and some high-profile dignitaries will also be present. It would be a perfect time to put those pictures up for all to see," Susan said, and they both smiled.
"Good, and the news will be published alongside the image," Eva said, and they both laughed.
Back at Bryce's home, Angela and Bryce had just gotten home. Angela was so exhausted from the day's activities. So much to do to ensure everything goes well for the first movie premiere. They have chosen a smaller cinema for the first premiere. The next premiere will happen in the biggest cinema found in the heart of the city. The people talking about the first movie premiere would draw a lot of people to watch the second movie premiere.
"I am very proud of you," Bryce said once they were both inside their bedroom. "This is for you," he said and placed a small box in Angela's palm.
Angela stared at the box. She opened it and gasped. Inside it was a beautiful diamond necklace.
"Thank you, but this looks very expensive. How can I wear this without drawing attention to myself?" Angela asked, surprised.
"You are my wife and not just my secretary. You deserve to have such beautiful things. With your position and salary, you can afford such a necklace," Bryce said. "Trust me, you will be fine wearing it," he said and kissed her forehead before stepping away.
Angela just stared at the necklace. It was so beautiful. She turned around and saw the bathroom door closing. She smiled and added the necklace to her jewellery. Mr and Mrs Anderson are not poor. They are average-income-earning people, but this is the first time Angela is wearing such expensive stuff. She returned to the bedroom, and soon she also had the chance to take a shower. They both turned in for the night, awaiting the big day.
The next day, Angela and Bryce left home together for work. The whole office was very busy because of the movie premiere scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Angela left for Don Entertainment to see how things were going at the place. She left together with Mr Don to the cinema and met up with the authorities. Everything was in place, but Angela could not rest. She didn't know what to expect. The movie is amazing, but there is not even a single celebrity featured, and that was Angela's biggest worry. She was hoping people would love the storyline and come over to watch.
It was soon 5 p.m., and people who didn't buy tickets earlier were now buying tickets for the movie. At 5 .30 p.m. The room was half-filled. Angela was expecting the room to be full since it wasn't that big, but it was just half-filled. Bryce arrived at the place, attracting some attention to himself.
"Mr Moore, this is the first movie Don Entertainment has successfully completed and gotten the chance to show at the cinema since your company developed an interest in diving into the entertainment industry. One would wonder why a big company like yours would prefer a small company like Don Entertainment?" one reporter asked.
"That is because I wanted to start from the beginning," Bryce replied. "Excuse me," he said and walked into the cinema.
At exactly 6 p.m., the movie started showing. Angela was with the people at the back, ensuring everything was going well. Mr Don sat with Bryce to watch the movie. Bryce had wished Angela were with him, but it would be difficult to call her to come sit with him without raising any suspicion. He had decided that once he set Don Entertainment up, he would move Angela there to manage it for Diamond Corporation. It would be easy to announce her as his wife. Either that or he finds a way to change the company policy, and he can announce her as his wife and acknowledge her in the presence of all.
Bryce was half-watching the movie. It was soon done, and the people were moved by the movie. They love the whole story.
Bryce, wanting to avoid the media, used a different exit. Don went to find Angela, and they both decided it was time to leave. Angela left with Mr Don through the front door.
"Ms Anderson, we understand that you are the brain behind this amazing movie. Is that true?" One reporter asked.
"It wasn't just me. We had a whole team dedicated to working on the project, and I am glad we did it," Angela replied.
"Mr Don, this is the first successful movie your industry has produced, and the people who came to watch enjoyed the movie. How do you feel?" the reporter asked, and the cameras didn't stop snapping.
"I feel amazing, but just like Ms Anderson here said, this was teamwork. Hard work pays," Don said.
"So does it mean you were not working very hard before?" another reporter asked.
Don didn't like the way the question was asked, but he remained composed.
"We were, except it was not enough. This time, our hard work was backed by resources," Don replied.
They soon left the place, and Angela was picked up in a car driven by one of Bryce's guards. Angela went home exhausted. After taking her shower, she dropped onto the bed and drifted off to sleep. Bryce lay down next to her, feeling very happy.
The next day, Angela strode into the company, and everyone was happy to see her. There was a brief meeting at the company auditorium.
"Well done, everyone. This success is our success. I want to thank everyone for their commitment to making this success; without every one of you here, we would not have landed this success. Well done. Don Entertainment is officially our entertainment side of the company," Bryce said, and the employees cheered with clapping.
"Ms Angela Anderson, well done for the role you played as the project lead and for ensuring the success of this project. The company recognises your good work and honours you with this award," Bryce said and decorated Angela with a gold medal with the company's crest and a plaque with the most promising employee boldly written on it. Everyone cheered.
Angela appreciated the award, and everyone before they all left the auditorium to get ready for the next premiere. That is supposed to be big.
At Susan's apartment, she and Eva watched the success of the movie premiere on TV and the short interview with Don and Angela.
"Let her have her moment. I am glad this premiere was successful. It simply means we will have a large crowd at the big cinema. A perfect time to post Angela's pictures," Susan said, and Eva laughed. "Do we have an insider now?" she asked.
"Yes, we have one in Diamond Corporation, and we have one person at the cinema where the second premiere will be held. Angela would face her biggest shame. Let's see how Bryce gets her out of this one," Eva replied.
"Good, before this would work, we have to make Angela make lots of mistakes," Susan said.
"But she is too careful to make lots of mistakes," Eva pointed out.
"I know that, that is why we are going to give her a little push. When the brain is tired, mistakes are like the air you breathe. You keep breathing," Susan said, smiling. "Now, give this to your insider and make sure Angela takes it," she added.
The next day, at the Diamond Corporation, Angela was approached by one of the employees.
"Hello Angela, I am Diana. I am impressed with the outcome of the project. I would like to learn a lot from you. Can we be friends?" Diana said, and Angela smiled.
"Sure," Angela replied, still smiling as she accepted Diana's handshake.
"I got this for you. Beginning of friendship and great things to learn," Diana said and handed Angela a small box of drinks.
Angela accepted the drink and excused herself before returning to her office to prepare for the second premiere. She opened the drink and began sipping it, unaware that the drink had been spiked.
