Chapter 91

"I still can't believe that the instructor gave us an impromptu test. At least, she should have given us a little hint," Lena watched the students around her complaining with a bored look on her face.

Why blame someone else for your incompetency!? She rolled her eyes multiple times and looked around the class. Her eyes trailed in a certain direction.

The person she was staring at seemed to have realized it cause she looked up and gave Lena a small smile. This caused Lena to stand up and walk to her.

Seeing that Lena was coming to her seat, Coco removed her headphones and waited patiently till she finally got to her. "Hey... How was the test? I noticed you have been missing a few classes so... The test wasn't too difficult, right?"

Coco nodded, "It was easy. Besides, I wouldn't want to join this group of brats. Why blame their incompetency on the poor instructors?"

Lena smiled. At least, someone understands her own point of view. She sat down in the vacant seat next to Coco. Her mind drifted away in silence and then she remembered the reaction she had gotten when she mentioned Coco to her mom.

"Say...," Coco looked up when she said this. "Would you like to come to my house for a visit? I told my mom all about you and she would be delighted to see you."

Coco arched her eyebrows at this. She gave Lena a slow smile and looked away. Why does she feel like there is more to this than Lena is letting her know? Why would she suddenly invite her home?

She thought of this and then hurriedly dispelled the thoughts. She can't sense anything malicious about Lena so she knows she isn't planning something evil.

So she turned back to Lena who was anxiously waiting for a reply. "I would love to. Text me the address," She told Lena with a smile and didn't miss the way the latter heaved a sigh of relief.

"Why do you keep on researching Jones corporation? Don't tell me you are smitten by their young master after just one meeting?" Emily frowned at Jonas' words. She glared at him as she kept on scrolling down the website she was currently browsing on.

Jonas smirked. Who would have thought he and Emily would actually become good friends even though Ryan made sure to show his displeasure at her having a male friend!?

Jonas shuddered when he thought of the countless unnecessary errands Ryan sent him on... Like that impromptu trip to somewhere in Africa!

He shuddered again and thought of how he'd looked after surviving that hot, godforsaken place. Out of all the places in the world, his boss had to send him there.

If it wasn't for the fact that Emily found out about his secret punishment and confronted that petty man. He would still be suffering.

"Tell me... Does your hubby know that you are hidden here in my office researching another man?," He munched on an apple loudly. Emily looked up and glared at him.

"Would you just shut up and let me do my research in peace? If I had other choices, I wouldn't have come here," She sounded irritated. If she hadn't snuck out while Ryan was with Chris, she wouldn't have gotten a chance to research Mason at all.

There was no way she would do that on the computer in the office. What if he found out that she'd researched Jones? Who knows what that petty man would do!?

Maybe drag her off to bed and severely punish her since he's been doing that lately. Emily coughed as her face reddened. Jeez! What kind of sensual thoughts are these?

"Why the heck does this damn web just keep showing insignificant things!?," She complained, moving away from the computer. It's just showing her irrelevant information. Things that won't be useful to her.

She is yet to see what she is researching. "What do you expect? Jones has the power to shut off valuable, private news from the public and let the web display only things they want people to see."

Emily sighed and brushed her hair with her fingers. She does this only when she's nervous or anxious. "What should I do now?" She chanted over and over again like a mantra.

There's no use asking her mother because she is just like this damn web. She will only reveal things she wants to reveal. Since she hasn't mentioned anything about their father, it is evident that she wants the past to remain buried.

Jonas threw the stick which served as a reminder of what used to be an apple into a trash can before walking to Emily. He sat at the table and complained, "Why are you pacing around? You are making me dizzy."

Emily stopped but she still kept on mumbling words he'd guessed were related to the research.

He finally asked her, "Why are you even researching Jones?"

"Why do you want to know?" Emily's blunt reply startled him.

He grinned and shrugged, "Who knows? I might be able to help."

Emily stared at him, "How?"

"I might have worked in the entertainment circle before." His response made Emily puzzled. How does the entertainment circle concern all these?

Jonas chuckled at the lost look on her face before explaining, "If there's anyone that can dig up dirt of the past or scoops of hidden news in this world, it's a reporter. Reporters don't disappoint."

Emily's eyes widened when she finally understood his words. "Do you still have connections with the reporters then?" She questioned and he nodded, "I've got great friends there."

"I want to know the full bio of the founder of Jones company. Every single detail about him and his pictures. Don't leave any stone unturned," She told him.

He winked at her, "Consider it done." Emily heaved a sigh of relief at this.
