Chapter 136 Camilla’s Pov.
One month later.
“That was so good.” I groaned, rubbing my stomach as I leaned back into the seat. I was stuffed, completely full from the glorious five star meal Àlvaro and I devoured. His lips twitched into a smile as he kept his eyes focused on the road.
“I'm happy you enjoyed it, chica.” He murmured, reaching over the console to run a hand on my barely protruding tummy. I was four months gone but it was still quite hard to tell that I was pregnant from a distance.
I kept my eyes on him, unable to pry my gaze away. I just can't get over how handsome this man was. He was dressed in a tailored black suit and white shirt, so picturesque in every way.
Everything still seemed surreal as we drove through the streets of Sicily. Three weeks ago, we finally moved to Italy and it has been nothing short of amazing. The house we moved into was one of the most beautiful forms of architecture I've ever seen.
I had to admit, it was a bit overwhelming at times and at one point, I couldn't believe that I packed up my entire life to move across the world with Àlvaro but he was always there to reassure me that if I changed my mind, we'd move right back.
I smiled as I turned my head towards the window.
“This is not the way to the house.” I said, frowning in confusion.
“It's not.” Àlvaro responded, shrugging casually. He didn't say anything else.
We drove in silence for a while until the car came to a halt. I peered out the window, frowning in confusion before my jaw dropped in pure awe. We were parked on a hill, overlooking the calm and glistening sea. The best part was the beautiful red and orange sunset.
“Whoa.” I gawked. It was one of the most majestic views I've ever seen and my lips pulled up into a big smile. Àlvaro exited the car, rounded the hood to open my door for me. He offered me an outstretched hand and I took it appreciatively.
Àlvaro was smiling but I could tell that he was nervous.
“This is—” I stopped, unable to put into words how beautiful the view in front of me is. We walked over to the edge, hand in hand and my smile never faltered.
I looked over at Àlvaro and the gentle hue of the sunset casted shadows on his perfect face. His eyes were lighter, brighter, and soft. Fuck.
The glare of the sun highlighted his features, his lips, his jawline, absolute perfection. I laid my palms on his cheek, unable to stop myself from turning his head so he could give me a kiss.
He smiled through it, laying his hands on my waist. “A pretty sunset for you, chica.”
“Thank you for bringing me here. It's beautiful, Àlvaro.” I murmured, returning my gaze to the view. I took in a deep breath, allowing the crisp air to fill my lungs. It was a little cold and smelled of fresh seawater.
Àlvaro let go of my waist but I didn't pay too much attention to him until I heard shuffling from beside me.
My jaw dropped for the second time that evening.
Àlvaro was on his knee, holding a black box with a diamond ring in the center.
“Chica.” He murmured, looking up at me. “I hope you don't mind me measuring your finger while you slept. I just wanted to make sure I got it right.”
I chuckled, wiping away my tears with the back of my hand. “Of course not.”
“Good.” He said, a cheeky grin on his face. “I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. Camilla. My love.” He said and I had to bite my lips because I was about to turn into a sobbing mess.
“You've changed me in every way possible. You've got the most beautiful soul and the most beautiful pussy—”
“Àlvaro!” I laughed, shaking my head.
“I can't wait for you to wrap those legs around my face later. Damn, I just want to—”
“I think we're kinda getting sidetracked.” I interupted and he smiled sheepishly.
“If I put this ring on your finger now, Camilla, that means you're mine forever. There's no going back. You'll never get rid of me.” His voice was low and hoarse as my eyes found his and I melted. “If I put this ring on your finger, that means I'm yours forever too. The only way out is death because divorce won't be an option, baby.”
His words weren't romantic. They weren't taken from a romantic movie where a man will write a love poem for his woman to prove his love. Àlvaro might not have done that but he would burn the world to the ground for me and somehow, that's even more perfect and romantic than anything I can ever think of. This is Àlvaro. My Àlvaro.
“Think carefully cause there's no going back.”
“You're such a romantic, Àlvaro.” I joked, with a big smile on my face but the truth is, my legs were shaking and I was on the verge of passing out from happiness.
“I may not be as romantic.” He said, caressing my wrist. “But I'm a man that's so fucking obsessed with you and I'll destroy cities and watch them burn for you if someone dares to lay a finger in you.”
This is the Àlvaro Castillo I fell in love with. Cynical, dark, and oh-so-perfect. He matched me in the most perfect way.
“Are you going to put the ring on my finger or are you just going to keep talking?” I raised an eyebrow playfully and he responded with a laugh.
I gasped when he slid the obviously expensive ring over my finger. It was beautiful. A thin diamond covered band with a bigger one in the center. He stood up to kiss my forehead before kissing my knuckles.
“Àlvaro.” I whispered. “It's stunning and it fits perfectly!” I gushed, holding it up into the light as I admired it.
This was probably why he took me to go get my nails done the previous day.
“It should. Or else I would've blown that entire store down.”
I looked at him. “You're not kidding.”
“I'm not.” He stated and I shook my head, too caught up admiring the ring to even care.
Àlvaro and I stayed for a few more minutes in each other's arms, admiring the view until the night turned dark.

“Did you leave our lights on?” I asked as we stepped onto the porch.
“I have another surprise for you.” He mumbled but I could see that he was trying to hide his excitement. He pushed the door open, stepping aside to let me in first and I eyed him warily, wondering what he was up to.
As soon as I passed the threshold, my heart stopped.
“No way.” I muttered, taking a step forward.
“Hi, my darling.” My mother greeted me, already in tears as she wrapped her arms around me to pull me in for a warm hug. I held on tightly, dropping my head onto her shoulder. It had been forever since I last saw or spoke to her and I fucking missed her so much.
“Mum? How? When did you arrive?” I asked, still in shock that my mother and Hector were in Italy. When I gazed over her shoulder, Hector and Àlvaro were already chatting and shaking hands.
“I hear km going to be a grandmother.” She smiled. “And we have a wedding to plan, of course. Let me see that ring.” She gushed, pulling back to take my hand in hers. I expected her to be angry with me for not bothering to reach out all these while but she looked genuinely happy.
As she examined my ring, I narrowed my eyes at Àlvaro. How did he manage to plan all of this without me knowing a thing? Regardless, I was so fucking happy and grateful.
“Mum, I'm sorry for everyth—”
“Shhh…I know all about that and none of it was your fault. If anything, I should be the one apologizing. But thanks to Àlvaro, we're all united again as one family.”
I was confused as to what she meant when someone cleared their throat from behind me. I turned to see my father standing in front of me. He was standing with a cane but he looked healthy otherwise.
“Hey bab—” I didn't wait for him to finish as I rushed towards him and wrapped myself in his arms, sobbing. I gazed at my mum to see her smiling as the tears rolled down her face too.
After all these years, my family was reunited again. This was the beat day of my life and it's all thanks to Àlvaro.
“Okay, my turn now.” Hector said impatiently and we all laughed through tears as I turned to hive my baby brother a hug too. When he pulled away, Àlvaro and my mother were embraced in a hug and my face softened.
It was such a beautiful sight.
“You're looking as handsome as ever.” She said, tugging at his cheek and Àlvaro smiled.
“Careful, cause from how beautiful you look, I might just marry you instead.” He joked and they all laughed except me. My eyes filled up with tears again.
“Camilla, what's wrong? Is it the baby?” Hector asked and I shook my head, willing myself to stop being a mess. This was supposed to be a joyous moment.
“No, it's not. I'm just happy.” I said, wholeheartedly meaning it.
That night, my mother and I sat down with a cup of coffee and caught up with each other. My dad went in for an early night and I grilled my mum on how everything went with their reunion. Apparently, she was already anticipating it. The only person that was quite confused was Hector and who could blame him. It's going ro take some getting used to for him but we're all here to navigate it together.
Àlvaro and Hector went on another one of their drives and I had a feeling that àlet him behind the wheel.
Thankfully, they both came back in one piece.
After everything had settled down, Àlvaro and I laid in bed together for the first time as an engaged couple and I couldn't stop thanking him. He had to kiss me to get me to shut up and it worked.
Àlvaro was by far the best thing that's ever happened to me.
