Chapter 120 Camilla’s Pov.
After a few seconds, Harriet left the room and I was alone. I turned my attention to the box in my hand. I can feel my hand shaking as I held onto the box. My whole body felt warm right now. I turned it around seeing the huge ‘pregnancy test’ written on it and my breath caught in my throat.
Even more so because Àlvaro doesn't know about this. He doesn't know that I've already vomited several times for no reason or that my body was changing and I can feel it.
Maybe it's just me being paranoid, maybe it's all in my head but I had to be sure. That's why I asked Harriet to buy me a pregnancy test when I knew Àlvaro wouldn't be in the house.
It felt like I've been walking around the room for thirty minutes with the test in my hand thinking about everything until I finally got the strength to do it. Hundreds of thoughts streamed through my head while I was peeing on the test and as soon as I finished, I just left it there in the bathroom and quickly got out as if I just saw a ghost. My heart was beating so fast against my chest, it might as well explode.
I sat on the bed, hands on my lap and my heart down to my feet with thousands of different scenarios playing out in my head.
What if it's positive? What do I do then? How do I tell Àlvaro?
We've never really talked about this. Hell, we've only officially been together for less than two weeks. How am I supposed to break the news to him that he's going to be a father?
What if he leaves me? Or worse, what if he makes me get rid of it or just kill us both?
Minutes passed and my thoughts were pressing my head so hard I felt like I was coming down with a headache.
I knew the time was up because I've been staring at the wall for the last twenty minutes, shaking like a psychopath. I have to do this. Don't be a pussy, Camilla.
I gathered enough strength and with shaky legs, I walked to the bathroom and picked up the test with my heart beating in my ears like crazy.
Positive.
I stared at it like an idiot, without blinking or moving. My heart dropped and I felt like I was close to fainting. I dropped down to the ground with the test in my hand, completely shocked.
I'm pregnant. I'm carrying Àlvaro Castillo's child.

When evening came, it felt colder than usual. The sky was dark, getting ready for a big storm.
And yet, it won't be half as strong as the storm that raged inside me. The last few hours were hard, horrible even.
I gathered more strength once I saw Àlvaro walk through the front door, slamming it shut. I didn't even realise that I had been sitting there waiting for him until now.
When he looked up and his eyes met mine, I didn't see that familiar warm spark or his beautiful smile as usual but darkness and rage intertwined in his eyes and my body tensed.
I didn't even realise that I was holding my stomach like an idiot with one hand as I stared at him.
What the fuck is wrong with me? Was I really going to tell him? Do I want to tell him?
No.
But he has every right to know and even with the risk of him hating me after the conversation, I still have to say it out loud.
“Àlvaro, can we talk?” My voice was as soft as a whisper but Àlvaro passed through me like a storm cloud, not giving me a second glance.
“Not now, Camilla.” He sounded cold, distant, angry. I could feel it in his voice. I swallowed hard.
“It's important.” I said, walking behind him with big steps so I could catch up with him but he didn't stop even for a second. I could see his back and even through the suit he was wearing, I could tell he was tense and breathing heavily.
“It can wait.”
“No, it can't wait.” I called out loud, grabbing his arm to make him turn and look at me but the moment I got his cold gaze on me, I almost regretted it. His eyes were as dark as death as his jaws tightened. “We need to talk.”
His eyes pierced me, looking down at my face. “Your father's holding Santiago captive. He sent me a nice video of him fucking torturing Santiago. He wants to meet me, otherwise, Santiago will die. We might have our differences but Santiago is like a brother to me.”
My face dropped and reality slapped me across the face.
“So, I'm fucking sorry, Camilla but I don't have the time for pointless conversations right now.” He said in a low voice, removing his hand from my grip. “I have to save my brother.”
“I am coming with you.”
“What?! Absolutely not, Camilla. It's not safe for you.”
“You're talking about my father, Àlvaro.” I replied almost immediately and he stayed silent. “You and I know I'm his only weakness and your best chance to save Santiago.” I hissed at him and he clenched his jaw, knowing I was right.
I wish I wasn't right. I wish I could go back to those carefree nights spent with Àlvaro, laughing on our bed after we've made love lost in our own little world.
But that's not us and it will never be. We weren't destined for that. There's no place for happiness in the world we choose to live in. Not while we're still breathing.

The air in this abandoned building was limited or at least that's how I felt because it was suffocating just looking around the dark place. My gaze wandered around all the men dresses in black surrounding us, all with their weapons out, waiting for a signal from their leader and my lover, Àlvaro Castillo.
Unlike me, Àlvaro was visibly calm, his gaze relaxed and his face expressionless. He's been in situations like this countless times so it's only normal for him to be calm. His hands were tucked into his trouser pockets, his dark eyes fixed on the man kn the other side of the building, surrounded by his soldiers, my father, Leonardo Torres.
My father's gaze was locked on me, his jaw clenching. His eyes were murderous, merciless and cold as ice. If it was possible to kill somebody with your eyes, he would've killed all of Àlvaro's men with his eyes alone, showing no mercy.
Seeing me.standing next to Àlvaro must be like a punch to the gut for him. I mean of course it is. It was written all over his damn face. His men also had their weapons out, ready to fire if necessary.
But still I tried to stay confident with my head held higheven when I knew I was beyond terrified. I moved closer to Àlvaro. His shoulder touched mine and that gave me strength. This action of mine did not go unnoticed by Leonardo as his eyes darkened.
“Àlvaro Castillo.” Leonardo dragged out the first words, breaking the silence with his cold voice acknowledging Àlvaro's presence. “It's such a pleasure to see you again.” He lied with a disgusted voice and sarcastic smile on his face.
“Although I have to admit that I liked you better beaten and colored in your own blood.” My father added, stepping forward in front of his men, causing Àlvaro's men to step forward as well, raising their weapons.
Everyone held their gun pointed to the enemy. Men against men, guns against guns, blood against blood.
Àlvaro and Leonardo were the only men with no weapons in their hands. They just stared at each other like two lions, ready to tear each other apart.
“I bet you do, Leonardo.” Àlvaro fired back, his voice deep and cold. The smile on Leonardo's face got bigger. “Where's Santiago?”
“You're in no position to ask questions, Castillo.” Leonardo hissed at him, taking another step forward, followed by his men. “Not after you started it all by taking my daughter away from me.”
I switched my gaze between Àlvaro and Leonardo, waiting for them to tear each other apart at any moment. The temperature in the building dropped another ten degrees.
“Bring me Santiago alive and I'll be generous enough to forget about your foolish actions and spare your miserable life.” Àlvaro's voice was calm and even, yet so cold, piercing the silence in the building. “Believe it or not, I want to get Vincenzo as bad as you do. We're on the same side.”
“Are we?” Leonardo replied with a sneer, scrunching up his face. “I'm afraid we're not.”
“You want Vincenzo dead. I want the same thing.” Àlvaro took a step forward, standing in front of his men like a true leader. I instinctively took a step forward to be by his side. Àlvaro looked down at me, his eyes full of a spark I couldn't read.
“That's where you're wrong, Castillo.” Leonardo muttered, shaking his head, his gaze darkening and my whole body froze. “I want you dead.”
Seconds later, the silence was broken by the sounds of guns being cocked. Leonardo drew his gun out but before he could even point it at Àlvaro, I took a step forward, standing in front of Àlvaro, protecting him with my body.
Leonardo's gun was pointed at my head. Our eyes locked as I waited for him to pull the trigger. If he wants to kill Àlvaro, he has to go through me first.
